  I'm working on a project where we want to Captivate our platform (it is so easy to HTML and reactive), but we want to let him behave more like Powerpoint. The two main features, we would like to have are:

  • Allow one click anywhere on the screen or keyboard shortcut to move the presentation, rather than having to click on a specific button to continue
  • To get items that appear after another on the same blade. If there is a square, a circle and a triangle on a blade, what is the best process for them have melted in one at a time? It seems that the boxes and a break may be the way we do, but I hope there is an easier alternative. (or the one who seems most logical to me)

  You only need a click box if you want to control the appearance of the next one-click object. If they can automatically appears after the other (in order, is also possible in PPT) you need to click on boxes.   Hello. I just started my test today - curved steep learning - sorry if this is an obvious question. But I searched online and here and cannot find a solution.

  I am running Windows 8.1 and using Office 365 - so my version of PowerPoint is 2013.

  First of ALL, if I create a sensitive project, when I click on file > import, 'PowerPoint Slides' is grayed out. Not an option. Is it possible to fix this, so that I can insert PPT into a sensitive project.

  SECOND, if I try to create a new project of MS PowerPoint, Captivate gives me an error message when you try to import .pptx files. If I save it as a .ppt older version files, they seem to work - but I lose audio, etc.

  Sorry, but I have really no idea why PPTX would fail. I am not a member of the Captivate development team, so I guess right here. Something is obviously a little different with the 2013 PPT, PPTX file format. Here again, you've probably already guessed that.

  Using the solution I suggested (check the TPP so it plays) must provide an exact copy of the colors and other whatnot that were in the PPT.

  It is in fact another way, you can try things out. Take the PPTX and copy it. Then rename the file of PPTX in ZIP extension. At this point, you should have access to the Windows File Explorer to view the contents. You could simply extract the images you need. Then, you can use Captivate projects. Projects of the same nature reactive!

• Captivate 9 effect transfer of content

  Hello

  I have a strange problem. Whenever I have add an effect such that fly in or extend from left, the final position of the object is moved of 10px or so in that direction.

  Here is a screenshot. Captivate in the picture and boxes are aligned under each other but will appear that they are not. nothing is a break anything.

  

  Anyone had similar problems. It's really annoying to have to use only the basic effects.

  Licenses are linked to an Adobe ID and a particular computer.  You can deactivate the license on a computer in order to install and reactivate on another, but by changing the Adobe ID that the license is linked to seems to be a lot more trouble, obliging to contact Adobe Support.

• In a Captivate 7 project created from a PowerPoint presentation, any text animations do not play automatically.

  I created a Captivate 7 project of a PowerPoint slide show, defining the advance slides automatically. There is a slide with animation of text (the text flies in) which plays in the Captivate timeline, but does not in the preview, or when the project is published - the blade stops, then must be clicked to get the animation to play and the slide advances. I do not see how this animation just play when the slide is displayed.

  Someone at - it suggestions?

  That animation is probably triggered during the click on the PPT. change this and update the CP file. It will work.

  Another problem I've noticed is that whenever there's a swf of movement, the white screen. Have you heard anything like that?

  This seems to indicate that the Captivate movie is not able to load the file external full movement. I guess I would check that everything is in the same folder. Assuming you have done this and for some reason any, that it did not work, you may need to take special measures to ensure the full movement bits are included throughout. SWF.

  I use file > import > PPT slides in Captivate 1.01
  Then in the box 'WHERE?', I choose the place in the cp file where them import PPT Slides
  Then I click OK and the box closes.
  So I see that a box appears very very short time, I can hardly see the content, but I read something like "creating thumbnails. Then, nothing.
  
  So I wonder, why me ? CPT 1.01 is able to import of 10 PPT? Or is there another explanation?

  I don't know if the Captivate is able to import PowerPoint 10. Maybe it's the issue. But your description sounds like a problem of 'Privileges' with the PC. See if IT can relax your privileges a bit.

  If this is not possible, you might still be able to get your PowerPoint in Captivate by creating the PowerPoint to play in a window. Then the Captivate size area registration so that it surrounds the PowerPoint and save PowerPoint as he plays, just as you register a demo of the application.

• [Captivate 8] HTML5 Publishing - first slide shows locally but not on test server

  Hi all

  The Question

  Anyone running in this number of the first slide shows on HTML5 (or SWF) until you open the table of contents and select the recalcitrant zipper and then it shows (and works) very well? Not on project load, just at the time when it is selected.

  Description

  I use only 8 Captivate for a short period of time, and I ran face first in a bit of a bigger obstacle than I expected. At the present time, I have a simple linear Captivate project containing essentially a Powerpoint (customer specified). Everything worked fine until I tried a preview of HTML 5 to 8 Captivate and first slide does not show. After that some research my solutions to the problems that I encountered were to:

  • Local preview sometimes causes a glitch. Solution: Publish locally and (pre) discovers the result. It did not work.
  • Group all the objects on the first slide, and then attach the Show action to this group. This corrects the problem.

  After that I published on a host server (server test for the moment, but in the end, it will be the direct dev server). I met the same problem, so:

  • Tried the Group thing, above. No joy.
  • Open the table of contents and navigated to other slides. None of the buttons (previous slide, next slide) worked.
  • Renamed the "Mouse.mp3" to remove that annoying click. Result: All buttons worked on the project, but the first slide showed (grouped or another).
  • Removed all the objects on the slide of the slide. No joy.
  • Removed the button (action: next slide) and reduces the time of reading of the slide to 5 seconds so that the blade will play during the loading, then just go to the next slide. No joy.
  • This SWF and HTML 5 publication tried.
  • All this with only tried SWF.

  Again, when I open the table of contents and go to the first slide ("Page title") the blank slide that is filled only by lonely borders becomes the title slide, as it should. Furthermore, glimpse local file (\project\index.htm) works very well.

  Of course, Miss something. It's probably something incredibly obvious, so I thank you for your patience.

• PowerPoint animations stop playing in the browser

  Hi, I hope someone has an explanation for it.

  I use 7 Captivate and have imported a PowerPoint 2010 presentation that contains an animation into four parts (text and photo shots). However the animation plays correctly in Powerpoint and when tested in captivate. When I test it in the browser (IE10) will accompany him to animation to play but then its suddenly stops and needs with a single click to complete.

  I am translating an English tutorial in Chinese just by changing the text of the legend. I exported the legend and had translated them into simplified Chinese. I can see the characters of Word (2010). I tried the following, and everything translates characters being displayed as a box with a cross:

  2 import the Chinese text in Captivate

  3. change the Arial font, like it's supposed to support Chinese characters.

  4 added the Chinese police simplified to my PC (Windows 7).

  5. save a new tutorial using the simplified Chinese language, but no subtitle only generated when I tried this and when I tried to add a caption for the tutorial it added in English.

  You have the Chinese toolbar on your windows system?

  When Chinese in Captivate text I first set the Chinese in my toolbar mode, then go to Captivate, when I opened a new legend and type in pinyin, a small window opens in the upper left corner of captivate and you can choose the right combination of characters, then click on the green arrow and he it enters the area of legends.  I hope this helps.

• 2 questions about Captivate 4.0

  I am a new user of Captivate and have a few questions:
  -By importing PowerPoint slides, the entire slide, including all transitions appears as a single action in the timeline, so I can't adjust the timing of the transitions to match the narration added in Captivate. I'm using PowerPoint 2003. Importation of PowerPoint 2007 makes a difference? Are there other techniques or workarounds? The only thing I did is to recreate the entire presentation in Captivate.
  
  -My question to text animation is really more a general problem I'm trying to create a workaround solution for. Here's the question... I need to create a presentation that shows the script of the Narrator when the learner doesn't want to or can't listen to the audio. I am aware of the display of the pages of Notes on the left, but the customer is not really like that. Activation of accessibility is not do because (I believe) the learner will need to change a setting in Windows. So, to get the script to the screen and timed with the chipset and graphics, display I created a scrolling region down. My intention was to use text Animation in time and scroll through the script with the actions of the screen. Two problems occur... 1 animation of text is not word wrap, so I have to type each line as a separate animation - not a huge problem. 2. the text Animation dialog box allows you to locate the animation (left and top), but it doesn't seem to be a way to change or limit the width. Any ideas?
