Captivate Audio Duplication 6

Hello

I use 6 Captivate and version 6.1.0.240 and have audio on most of the slides in my class. I'm recording audio in Captivate and do not import not from an outside source.

When I record audio, then re-save as a result of feedback from SMEs, I re - record but the audio is doubly.

Thanks, Marissa

  • Captivate Audio 7

Import slide audio worked fine for several projects and for the first slide in my new project. But when Iimported the next audio, I couldn't hear it. All of a sudden, so I couldn't hear audio in slides of ay.

I tried without success to the following:

    Reset

    Restart of Cap

    Reimport the files

    Importing a new project file

In fact, now I am unable to hear the audio imported into all previous Captivate files.

Meanwhile, the file plays fine elsewhere.

    All seen this?

    Thank you

    Erin

It's the same thing. But good news, I thought of it.

The problem occurs when I dock and detach my workstation.

The system returns to pointing to as the audio device monitors the system default.

The trickiest part is that it does not always behaving this way, which makes it difficult troubleshooting.

It is not an obvious for anyone answer, unless you are in and seen before.

    Thanks for the help!

  • Captivate audio does not pausing in LMS after relaunch of bookmarking.

My background is in Captivate 5.5.  I have audio attached to each slide and each slide contains a button 'Next' text to pause the slide at the end.  We use SumTotal LMS.  The course works very well if you start and complete it in one sitting. If I close and favorite of my place, then relaunch the course will begin where it left off and slides a break to the "next" button, but continues to go to the audio. "" I looked it up and down on both sides and that you can not solve this problem.  Several users have had this problem.  Any help would be appreciated I need to get this on-line course.

    Rod,

Thank you very much!  I added the audio slide by slide and I at the beginning of each slide.  I will try to move a tenth or two out.

    I appreciate the help.

    Hi @Tubbolard ,

Looks like a program or a file is running in the background. Have you tried emptying your trash and refresh your PC.

  • Captivate 8 audio will interrupt the beginning

I use 8 Captivate and across multiple slides (especially at the beginning of the presentation) the sound is cut at the beginning once the rate published on the LMS. I deselected the compression options and I added some time before and after the audio clip, but he always gets cut. If the user plays the entirety of the presentation and 'rewind' or he plays again, the sound is fine. Any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

If the 'silence' that you added has been done through the Captivate Audio dialog box then it will be pure silence without no audio at all and will just get cut by Captivate again.  (Weird question plaguing Captivate for all time).  You must ensure that the silence at the beginning or end of an item is NOT pure.  The best thing to do is copy some "dirty silence" of some one break in the Middle same clip and paste that in the beginning or the end of the clip.  Given that this silence is not pure and has at least some audio data at low altitude, Captivate will leave him alone.  That could help the part of your question.

Another thing is to ensure at least a Virgin without objects or audio slide at the beginning of your project.  NEVER start a project with a slide that must have audio play immediately.  Captivate seems to enjoy a blade full of second, or to put in place BEFORE playback of content.

  • When you export .mp4, often has "audio ghost" of the clip before repeating in the empty space on the sequence

When I export a (h264) .mp4 in the sequence (using the encoder) I often get a video that has the sound that repeats.  (that is to say: 'what is that?', 'what is that?","what's that?")  I think it is especially when there is empty space on the sequence between the clips.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Try to clean the media Cache, hoping that this will solve it... taking a lot of time out of the edition actually.  Adobe, fix!

(Running the latest Premiere Pro CC 2015 on iMac, Yosemite)

I just did a quick test. I uninstalled Media Encoder and reinstalled for the most up-to-date version, 2015.1 CC. Then I re-exported a portion of my order which showed this problem audio ghosting. Voila! More no audio duplication.

Incredibly grateful that it was as simple as that... Phew!

  • Shape shape styles will play no audio inserted.

I am running Windows 8.1 and 8.0.1.242 on the desktop and laptop PC - downloaded from Adobe by creative cloud.

Text Cp caption old school styles do play inserted audio but the new Smart-saudio inserted game not of HAPE styles. I tried to go back several times. Systematically, when I click with the right button on the legend of the 'old school' text and select "convert to smart shape then reinsert the audio, smart shapec aption styles won't play audio inserted." If I reverse the process text legends will play audio without problem. I tried on two computers and with the new files.

  • Get audio in Adobe Presenter presentation to play once I have download on Acrobat Connect Pro

I have an Adobe Presenter presentation with audio.  I did not publish it through Captivate I went directly to Acrobat Connect Pro tp and he shot straight in the "CONTENT" section.  When I do that I have NOT ger the audio to come with her.

    What should I do?

When I publish Captivate audio going in Adobe Connect however when I run the lesson of Captivate session he asked an Adobe Connect ID and the password.  We do not want that.

    Any suggestions?

I think you may have a few things going on here.

When you publish the presenter there is no audio data. Have you checked that the quality setting (settings > presentation > quality) which edition for Adobe Connect Pro has no box "Publish Audio" unchecked?

You say that you get audio when published through Captivate. You have two versions of this presentation, presenter and the other in Captivate? I ask because the project files transfer between tools.

When asked himself a login ID and PW, it is likely, because the presentation is not set to be publicly visible. Find the Captivate presentation on the login server, set permissions. If necessary click on the Customize button (this will show if the content is defined to have the same permissions as the folder they are in) and then set the option Allow public look at a Yes.

  • Audio imported slows or repeats

Well, here I am again... upgraded to Captivate 3 on a powerful desktop computer and I have the same audio problem, I had with Captivate 2 on a laptop. What is the secret to importing WAV or MP3 files so they don't slow down or repeat on each slide?

Audio files were recorded in a studio and released as AIFF files. I convert them into WAV and MP3 and have tried different settings for the conversion and in Captivate when publishing. Nothing works...

If I use MP3 files in Captivate, they come out slightly slowed down when published (no matter what setting I use), so that the narrator's voice dropped an octave and speak more slowly than the original audio file. If I use WAV files and post them, they seem a lot, but the same audio file is repeated on every slide, any audio, I had placed on the slide.

Can anyone help? I asked this question before, and no one seemed to know what I was talking or could not provide a solution. How in the world anyone has audio of Captivate to play correctly when published?

    Thanks (and crossed our fingers).

    Jim

I think I solved this problem. The culprit seems to be not to maintain the same rate of encoder and sample rate when converting between audio file formats. I started with AIFF files with a sampling frequency of 48,000 kHz. I retouched as needed and then re-recorded (always as AIFF files) to a sample rate of 44.100 kHz. I used Final Cut Pro to do it, but any good audio editor will work (WavePad is an inexpensive and very good choice on Windows platform). Then I standardized audio and reduction of noise applied using WavePad (essentially by applying additional filters to make the best sound file), and then resaved the file as an MP3 file, with a flow binary Constant of 98 kbps (do not use Variable Bit Rate... Captivate can not handle it... It's one of the things I found led to idle audio or audio repeats). I also used a parameter that is the MP3 Mono file (my original files were stereo but Captivate doesn't seem to like stereo). So now, after you import the MP3 file in Captivate, do not use the Captivate audio editor to turn down the volume or edit audio. It also seems to cause audio problems when publishing. I do everything for the audio file outside Captivate first. Now, when you're ready to publish, be sure that your audio export Captivate is 44,100 kHz 98 kbps (that is, it matches exactly what are your MP3 audio files). So far, it has solved the problems of audio slowdown or repeat an audio file across multiple slides.

I also found that instead of files MP3 with WAV in Captivate files causes major problems. I know it's weird because when you import MP3 files in Captivate, they are converted into WAV files then converted into MP3 when released. Go figure.

It seems that nobody at Adobe or to one of the experts here on this Forum have never run into this question, because nobody had even a suggestion for how to resolve this problem. Odd. It happened whenever I used the feature to publish in Captivate 2 and now 3. It took me hours to try variations of each possible encoder, file format bit rate and sampling rate to finally find some that caused no problems for the Capitvate. The folks at Adobe had to spend some time 4 Captivate ensuring audio import and export functions are more stupid and can manage the files without any problems that occur. Not everyone is an audio wiz.

  • Audio bad plays when published

I recorded my audio using the integrated Captivate recording tools. When I play the slides singley, the sound is fine. However, when I preview the entire project or when I publish the project, I have a slide (#33), which is picking up audio from the last slide in the deck (total 76 slides). When I look back on the slide in edit mode, the audio track is good. Yet when I publish, it still goes to the last slide. #33 slide timing is correct, it's just the audio that will not.

I made minor changes to such audio synchronization as recommended by others, then re-recorded the project. But at the time of publication, the audio evil is always associated with the slide.

    Clues?

To rgcunningham, thanks for your suggestion. After struggling for hours, I found a solution before your answer came through. My solution can also help TechSoup who seems to have the same problem I had.

I realized the audio played poorly in my presentations viewed and published (Yes, it happened more than once) ends up being my slide 'END' which is considered at the end of each lesson. ('Close this lesson... ") I found out, it's the audio file for my slide to END, that I created in the first (out of seven) lessons and reused for the remaining six lessons, was automatically issued a number of audio diary of Captivate. Whenever I pasted the slide to END in a lesson that had another slide with the same number of audio newspapers, attached Captivate audio range regardless of the slide had another as audio.

For example, the original END slide has published 'audio file 32' Captivate. (You can tell the number of audio clip by hovering over the audio section of the script but also hovering over the audio files in the library). This means that my first lesson had 32 blades, each blade had an audio file as an attachment. In lesson two, I had only 28 slides, so I have no problem. But in my third lesson, I had 37 slides, which included my copied original END slide 32 and his audio attachment. And slide 32 in the third lesson ends by playing the END slide audio in preview/publish modes. The copied slide to END is not yet its own audio as it is supposed to.

My workaround was to go to lesson its original library file, find audio of the slide to the END ('audio file 32') and rename the audio clip of the original slide to END as 'END of Audio. Then I went back to my other lessons playing bad audio because their slides #32, deleted the original slide to the END and replaced by one who had the renamed audio file.

So for TechSoup, the issue may be that he has somehow two audio files with the same name. If so, rename one of the files may well solve your problem.

  • Formate Cp5 support .mp3?

    Hi all.

I use the trial version Cp5 I also have Cp4 in my machine.

I have HT a requirement to synchronize a set of audio files to a video.

I will try to make it easier to understand. I have a (video captured an application screen) video without audio. I have to add to the audio and video in Captivate.

I have to synchronize multiple audio files to the single video.

I hv took a box of nail & imported an audio of .mp3 format. But when I see in the library a double in the same audio file is created in the .wav format. I chose the unused items to remove, then deleted the file .mp3 and .wav file exists in the library. But the size of the .wav file is 5 times more than that of the .mp3.

Its the same thing with all the audio files I import.

I dnt want to use large files. Why did this happen and what is the solution? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

    Elodie.

Captivate audio files stored internally in high quality. MP3 is a compressed format that sacrifices some data in order to minimize the size of the file. WAV is able to keep the sound information more but has a higher size.

So when you import an MP3 file, Captivate records a version of WAV file uncompressed so that no additional data is lost before you publish again.  Otherwise, if you import a file that is already compressed and then compress again at publish time, you will find yourself finally with much lower quality audio and no way to improve it other than re-registration again.

It does not matter that Captivate uses WAV to store the audio file internally because when it displays the SWF format, he publishes audio in MP3 format to whatever settings, you specify that the audio quality. You posted the file size depends on the settings of output quality, not stored audio format. If it pays to record a high quality setting (I use 128-bit) and then publish at the lowest setting, with that you can get out.

  • Show/Hide - advanced action buttons and images

So, I thought I had a handle on usage shares advanced to show/hide, but apparently not.

    Here's the scenario:

-Screen where the user must select one of the 6 options

-When the user clicks on one of the 'boxes' of the option a check should appear and audio should play

-All other "cases" should be disabled to avoid audio duplication

Here's what I did to try to get this working:

-' Boxes' are buttons, click on success:

    * Success box contains audio that plays (this works)

Success of the button execute advanced action:

    > hide all other buttons on the slide (it does not)

    > display an image of a check mark in the "checkbox" which has been clicked (does not work)

    > go to the next slide (works, audio from the success box once completed)

    Thoughts? Help! Thanks in advance!

    Hello, unknown fan

Overlay buttons will not work, so let this idea alone.

I really want to finish this blog post on audio and widgets. Just an idea and will try to be at the time where I found the time to try something. Why don't you attach audio to an initially invisible object that you show with the same advanced action? This object can be a shape with no stroke and a fill alpha of 0% so that it is invisible to the user. You will have time before the sound can play completely before going to the next slide.

  • no microphone detected

My mic and settings work fine with applications in windows, with the exception of Captivate. I checked the Windows settings and calibrated. I can record with Audacity and a recorder of Windows. But in Captivate, it won't recognize that I have a camera. The opions are selected for Microphone, line no.

Clues that you could give me would be great.
    Thank you
    Donna

    Hello Donna,.
    Hmmmm...
And Captivate audio-test dialog tells you that there is no microphone attached, correct? But you can open "Tape recorder" and create a new WAV file here, huh?

There is no doubt that Captivate is a spoiled when it comes to obey audio controls - has been since before it was 'Captivate '. The problem is that each version I never ran has never had a single problem, so I'll have to do some "MIME" based on what I heard from others.

Could you please check the "help > about" to see what version and you build are running? Thank you. If you are using an English localization (United States, United Kingdom, etc.) your version must be V 1.0.1 and the construction should be #1418. If the generation or version is earlier than, get the latest version installed and see if that helps.

In addition, the only suggestions I have are the old standby as 'try another micro - or several different microphones', 'restart Captivate', 'reboot' or - as a last breath - "Reinstall Captivate."

Sorry I'm not more help for you - maybe someone else can jump in with a proven solution?
