  The problem was solved when I tried FFnightly in safe mode.

  The problem is the addon Adblock Plus 2.1, gmail started working when it has been disabled.

  Why not just move to your website rather than on your FTP site? The user experience is generally better too, especially for large files.

  Please check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is correct, you can later copy the necessary personal data of the old profile. Firefox stores your personal data and settings in a different location (folder profile) separated from its files/folder. A new profile would have default Firefox settings in Tools (Alt + T) > Options and topic: configand generally would also void of Extensions and themes (appearance) in Tools > modulesand their parameters.   Try this > right click on the shortcut to the program > choose Properties > then the Compatibility tab > then check the box "run this program in compatibility mode.  When you right click on the shortcut can also be a troubleshooting compatibility.

  I raised this same issue before, but has been unable to resolve the issue - and it happened again.

  A colleague has created a project. Registered and trying to open it, they get the above message.

  I checked with them and they do not have a .bak ( they will be in the future...) and they have deleted from the temporary folder on their PC and it usually always open.

  They sent me the file and I get the same error message and cannot open the file.

  Two questions please.

  1. suggestions on how to open this file?

  2. what causes this error, because this is now the second time that they have suffered from this problem in as many weeks?

  There are a number of things that may have caused the error.  One of those usual works on a network instead of from your hard disk.  But there are many other possible causes.

  I have

  I worked on this project (slide @175).  Suddenly, that I save my changes, the program freezes & has close & it seems now the file is corrupted.  Am I basically screwed here?  Is there a hope for this file?  I read that Captivate 5 manages so-called projects with 400 + slides, so mine should not be a problem.

  There are no other open programs, the file is not already open.  I guess I'm screwed & spend 2 days to redo the work I just do.  Fortunately, I have a backup, but a backup that does not include about 16 hours of changes.  This has always been a fragile product and I had hoped that Captivate 5 which had improved, but I do not.
