  • Carl Zeiss lens vs 'G '.

I've been away from Sony for many years and the view that all recent devices come with a 'G' goal instead of an objective Carl Zeiss.

Someone can give information me on the finer points / detractions of two lenses?

    Thank you

G Sony lenses are optical large opening using professional photographers, and they are exceptionally useful in low-light situations. The glass used, are of the highest quality and has minimal chromatic aberrations and distortions. Regarding lenses Carl Zeiss, they, too, offer high quality lenses and have a rich legacy of the optical design for imaging purposes.

  • How much cost the a7s?

No idea how much the A7s will cost? I really hope it is around the $1800 price point. I'm a big fan of sony and were shooting video and photos for a while but cannot afford the price of black magic or the canon 5 d mark 3.

The cost is the only body of $2 600.00 USD.

    But here are some facts:

    1. you need an ATG Atomos Shogun or Atomos Shogun2 as an external recording.

Because the video CAN NOT be saved on the camera.

2 ATG runs on top of $7, 000.00 and the Atomos hits to $3.500.00.

3 video rig runs above $3,000 or more with red/ATG/Carl Zeiss lenses / Canon movie.

At the time when you put it all together, the cost will be more than ameatur cameras such as the Canon EOS - 5 d Mark III and the Nikon D800.

But these two CAN'T do 4K as the A7s.

Here again, many people have not 4 K TV.

  • Difference between DSC-HX400B DSC-HX400V

Anyone know the difference between HX400B DSC & DSC-HX400V

I don't know one main difference is the lens - 400B is just standard lens Sony, or whatever the goal is, while 400V is best quality objective Carl Zeiss

Also, the models of Sony with V means generally support GPS - not sure if it is.

    It's about the main differences.

  • How I 'Finalize' a DVD-R disc so it can be converted to video?

I have a Sony Handycam - (Carl Zeiss Optimal Zoom) that uses DVD-R mini disks. Recently, I sent filmed basketball to an organization that sent the following request, but I don't see an option in one of my menus camcorder to "finalize".

"When the DVD is not finalized it means that the images intended to be on the DVD was not completely copied and so the DVD seems to be empty when played."

Once you have the DVD in the camcorder, you need to finalize the images through the camcorder. This process is different depending on the camcorder, you have, but it should be an option in the section of the menu once the DVD in the camera. »

What is the model of your camcorder?  I guess you don't see not finalize if you press P-MENU on the touch screen.  There is a video on how to finalize a disc-

    - but may not be useful if you do not see an option Finalize after touch P-MENU on the touch screen.  If you will provide a model number, I'll see what I can find that will help you.

  • What would be the best camera for light low, good zoom and footage

    Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V
    Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100

I'd love the RX100 but now for nearly $700

DSC-HX50 would be the best option for your needs. It has also many interesting features. It is integrated with optical zoom 30 x and 60 x Zoom of Digital Image clear.

This device has a 20.4 million pixels image CMOS Exmor R sensor that brings out the full resolving power of the lens of the camera to offer extremely fast speed, high resolution Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T, and a great sensitivity in low light with improved and drastically reduced grain image clarity.

  • Shutter A7r vibrations

Any attempt to anticipate shutter vibration A7r with sony alpha 135 zeiss & 85 mm with sony E mount lens adapter mounting?
    Haven't seen any.

This review is extreme. No camera is perfect: all compromises inherent.  In the old days, we faced shutter shock in practically all SLR cameras. We have simply compensated by using faster shutter speeds for shots of pocket, tripods for essential work and good techniques - I use these today. Certainly, the shutter is #1 I would like to see improved. I doubt that this may be a software fix. So far, the shock occurs with more than 85 mm, hand held old lenses. Lenses with operating systems do not show any shock. Legacy, the best adapter, more strong must be used.  With a tripod and strong adapter, I am able to produce images with old lenses non - OSS to say 100 mm. I still use a rail system. As a general purpose camera, objectives with small legacy RF Contax G45 G95 lenses, SLR Zeiss Planar and existing Distagon and dedicated new FE, the A7R Zeiss lenses renders superb computer images of pocket.

Update: before editing for new results: I am experiencing now shock when using the Nikkor ED2.8/70-200 lens when mounted in necklace lens to the heavy tripod head.

  • "Revaluation" of DSC-HX9v DSC-HX300 or DSC-HX50 (v) request?

As some know, on my other thread, I'm considering upgrading my Sony DSC-HX9v for the HX300. However, because of the noise of the zoom during playback video, I'm still uncertain on the HX300 so now also considering HX50 (v). The main reason for the upgrade is the zoom.

Has anyone done a similar upgrade and may comment if the image quality is better or less the phot and video? I understand that the HX300 has more pixels on the sensor, but this does not always translate in the best picture. Also, I was informed that because of the increase in zoom, the goal is obviously more thick which can decrease the quality of the image.

    Any advice greatly appreciated. TIA

It is true that a large number of megapixels does not equal a better picture quality. There are many other factors that contribute to the quality of image, and each have their own strong points.

The HX300-DSC and DSC-HX50V essentially share the same 20.4 MP CMOS sensor. The DSC-HX300 has an objective Carl Zeiss, the longest zoom range and wider opening that is perfect for defocus background. The DSC-HX50V with a Sony G lens, more scene modes and a shoes Multi Interface allows you to set accessories and expand the creative possibilities with the camera.

The effective diameter of the lens doesn't have a direct effect of image quality. The size of the lens will depend on several factors including zooming capacity, number of elements and materials used in the construction, among others.

  • Profile FE Zeiss 85mm f/1.8 for Lr5 mounts lenses?

    Hello

I recently bought a Zeiss mounts 85 mm f/1.8 lens FE that I intend to use on a Sony A7II body.

I did not know that: -.

    (a) the lens has quite bad code pin-cushion distortion, and

    (b) may not be corrected in camera.

I see people saying, 'just OK in the post. But I also see that only Lr6 has a profile built for this purpose.

    I have Lr5.

There is no way to download the profile to use in the Lr5? I really need to ditch Lr5 just for that?

I downloaded and installed what is called "Lens profile Downloader" but he has a very short list of profiles - no frames.

I don't know if I'm competent to create my own profile.

    Any suggestions or advice welcome!

    Best wishes

    Hi travvie,.

  • Adobe, please create profiles of lenses for SONY Alpha and Alpha SONY - Zeiss mount mount

Yes, I know there is a lens profile Creator application, but it would be useful to have the 'official' Adobe profiles, please.  Those of use of SONY Alpha cameras are not necessarily trust / capable in terms of creating our own profiles. .  It would be good to have in the next update of Lightroom 5!

You must download the Adobe Lens Downloader links I have provided and install. It is a "Companion" to the lens profile Creator application. Then select "Camera Maker" SONY. What nodel (s) Sony Alpha camera do you use?

  • About T3I EF lenses

I just want to know if my calculations are correct on this point. This is the focal point of equavalent of some privileged lenses EF on the T3i. I multiply by 1.6 x culture right?

    24mm EF would be 38mm
30mm EF would be 48 mm
    85mm EF would be 136mm

Is that correct or should I go?

    Kolourl3lind wrote:

I was wrong. BY EOS, I meant ARE full frame camera and not Cameras EOS Rebel EF-S.

Also, pass my T3I and 6 d very often when I photograph an event. Photographed it hard when I don't have the same point of view using the same lens wiith each camera.  What I'm trying to do is buy a first decent Wideangle to fit on the T3i. This will allow me use the T3i just for wide angle of shooting at a focal distance and get photos decent quaility compared to 6 J using a zoom lens.

It's the best configuration, I can think that it's just easier for us my 6 d lenses and switch instead to carry two cameras.

Well, now it is more clear what you are doing, and you go back between the two formats.

However, he has very little of primes that are ultra wide on a full frame and still very broad camera on a culture's APS - C sensor. 24mm is a good wide angle on a full frame camera, but only behaves like a slightly large 'normal' when used on a crop sensor camera. I have and use a Canon EF 20 mm... fairly wide on full frame. It's nice, but only a moderately wide lens (32mm FF equivalent) on a sharecropper.

There are Canon 14 mm (origin and Mark II). And there is a manual focus only Zeiss 15 mm ZE. There are also a few glasses of 17mm. These are quite expensive, however. And, in a culture a 17mm camera sensor is only moderately wide.

In the past the Tamron and Sigma made 14mm full frame compatible lenses. Those who were of an image quality questionable and abandoned several years ago... so will be available used, if you can find them.

There is also a 14mm Samyang/Rokinon lens which is full frame compatible and affordable, but the update manual and operation manual only, so more time to work with. It sells for a little over $ 300 and also lie in Bower, dotted, ProOptic, Vivitar and other brand names (Vivitar called 13mm, even if it's the same lens.) This lens has strong "mustache" distortion, but there is software that can correct.

Another possible consideration, all 14, 15mm and many the 17 mm... and some of the largest of the full frame capable ultra wide angle zoom, too... tend to have front lens elements very strongly convex which allow not the standard to mount vissants filters.

There are simply not many really wide Prime lenses for crop sensor cameras. And most of the primes and zooms that are wide on FF, are only slightly or moderately wide on culture.

If you want to use the lens wide angle on the T3i onlycrop sensor, there are a few good zooms you should really consider.

Canon recently introduced an EF-S 10-18mm IS STM lens which is a real bargain priced at $300 and even less for sale currently. I have not yet used, but have heard a lot of good reports. No, is not as sharp edge on board as others, but it is quite surprisingly good for the price (which is at least $100 less than any other ultra wide-angle zoom... $200 or more at most).

Canon EF-S 10-22mm USM has been around for a few years, sells for about $650, and in my opinion is one of the best ultrawides to cultures of any manufacturer photo sensor. It is very well fixed, strong side by side with well controlled chromatic aberration, reasonably good quality of construction, able to use the standard 77mm filter and has exceptionally good flare control.

Sigma offers two versions of 10-20mm and the widest of all in a 8-16 mm. A 10-24 mm Tamron. Tokina has offered the fastest in a 11-16/2.8, but also a 12-24/4, (which are now discontinued, but can still be found). Tokina is currently introducing new models of 11 - 20/2.8 and 12-28/4.

However, all of the above zooms are 'just culture' (at least on a technical level, see below).

If you want to use the lens on your T3i and 6 d...

Canon of nine 11-24 2.8 L / would work fine... but is very expensive (almost $3000).

Sigma offers a 12-24mm, which is full frame and crop sensor compatible. It is rather expensive and has one important of distortion.

There are various 16-28mm, 16-35mm, 17-35mm, 17-40mm which are full-frame compatible... tho, all this is just moderately wide on the T3i culture.

An interesting possiblitity... I can tell you for certain that a Tokina 12-24/4 is a good lens on cameras of the harvest, and that it is partially usable on full frame. I tested it as wide as 17 or 18 mm on my 5DII, until it begins to show the vignetting. I understand the Tokina 11-16/2.8 is usable on FF, too... but only she is put in 16mm. (I haven't used so can't say on the two new models of Tokina.)

    FOR INFO:

Colloquial for Canon EOS Digital cameras is "APS - C / 1.6 X crop" and "full frame / 1.0 X.

Or just 'crop sensor', 'culture' or 'cropper' vs 'full frame' or 'FF '.

Canon lenses are ' EF/full frame compatible' or 'EF-S/APS-C only of cultures '.  Only Canon's EF-S objectives using a variation on the EF mount, designed to not allow lenses to physically join the cameras 'incompatible '.

There is no "ES" or even "EF" cameras and few people to refers to «Caméras EF - S» That's because the cameras APS - C or crop can use both EF and EF-S objectives... While the cameras full frame can only objective EF of use. Objective EF - S will rise not yet physically on the camera models full frame as your 6 d (nor on the third cannon used to provide format: APS - H or 1.3 X.hich also EF lenses require).

Home objective third-party manufacturers there are not EF-S-objectives. Sigma, Tokina and Tamron all only use EF mount, regardless. Although they may be possible to mount on a camera full frame, many glasses they offer always are "cultures only"... They do not produce an image circle large enough to cover the entire surface of a full frame sensor, it will strongly vignette. Yet some work partially (as indicated above).

Canon EF, "Di" of Tamron, Tokina "FX" and "DG" lenses Sigma are all sensor full frame and compatible cultures.

Canon EF-S, 'Di II' Tamron and Tokina "DX" Sigma "DC" lenses are all cultures only.

    I hope this helps!

  • 2015.4 Lightroom does not solve my files incorrectly identified as Zeiss Milvus 1.4/50 ZE (should be the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art)

So I have all these files that I've taken with the Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 Art think LR were taken with the Mivus Zeiss 50. I was hoping that the update should fix but apparently not. If I select a file and click on metadata > read metadata from the file, then it will simply update it to "50mm" but it resets all my editing. What type of solution is it? What now? I want these files already taken to be labeled correctly, but I don't want to lose the changes.  Thank you.

Ok. I didn't know that you were working in the library module.

"50mm" is the tag EXIF lens written by the camera for the SIGMA and the Zeiss 50 mm f/1.4 lenses. Usually, we leave these data EXIF alone unless a manufacturer of lenses she asks be overridden. This is the case with the Zeiss Milvus glasses.

The original bug is fixed (i.e. you will not see this with newly imported or non edited images), but as you have discovered, after making a change to an image in LR, the lens name is committed to the change data image in LR, until you recover the changes to the image. The reason why you lose your changes when you choose to read the metadata of the file are because LR is crush the image change the data in the catalogue with the xmp disk data. In this case, it is probably not a sidecar xmp LR replaces the current changes with what is essentially an empty file. It is similar to hit Reset in the develop module.

There is a way to manage this scenario (retroactively setting the name of the goal), but it will require changes in the code and will be available in the next version of LR. Unfortunately I don't have a timeline on when this will be. I follow on this thread once I am sure that this issue has been addressed.
