Catalogues moved between the drives in the library.

I have all my photos on external hard drives, that I imported by Lightroom. Until that currently when I pluged them they wher on-site.

Suddenly something happened and the swiched of files between hard drives in the library and so are absent with question mark.

Drive E contains the folders of the drive F and F contains records of drive E, that is not the reality. Files are in place, but Lightroom is a gap between them, and they are not accessible.

It happened in the past and I managed to be it resolved by restoring the computer to a time before the event.

now I have new computer with Windows 10. I transferred the catalogs successfully, but it happened again. The new Board of Windows, it is difficult to find how to restore to a date frewious at the time. When I found it, it does not give a date prior to the event.

I don't know why this is happening and what it runs.

Here are a few screenshots:

  • What is the relationship between the library of Photos and the iPhoto library?

I'm asking this question here because I can't find all the relevant information online.

I was dealing with imac a client recently who had a full boot drive. I noticed that his old iPhoto library used 126GB while she had already made the transition to the Photos. His photo library said that he was using a lot more (200 + if I remember correctly). I copied the iPhoto on an external drive library and deleted. Then, I opened the contents of the package and imported pictures remains in program pictures to make sure that I wasn't actually remove all of his memories. Once the work is finished, I was surprised to see that there are more than 6 GB of free space on his computer. What gives? Is there a relationship between the old iPhoto library and new photo library? If so, what is it? Is what I did without danger? I understand at the time that she will not be able to return to iPhoto. But what I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

No - they are totally separate - connection or relationship of any kind is not

or the other can be deleted without any effect on the other - but it won't save much space at all and is not recommended - which is exactly what you have seen- Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

  • Moving between the keyboard shortcut Documents: Acrobat Pro DC

Since the update to version 2015.009.20069 of Acrobat Pro DC on Mac Pro (end of 2013), I am unable to use any keyboard shortcut to navigate between open documents. Before the most recent update to Acrobat Pro DC, it was possible to navigate between documents open by using the keyboard shortcut. So, what has changed with the keyboard shortcut?

    Paul

    Hi Paul,.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you want to open several documents (e.g. 3) in acrobat and then switch between them (i.e. the document 1 document 2 and so on).

Since version 2015.009.20069, several documents are open as tabs instead of Windows of Acrobat.

You can use Ctrl + Tab to switch to the next tab and Ctrl + Shift + Tab to switch to the previous tab.

  • Move files between the DSO and the storage library

    Hi all

I use Oracle RAC 11 g ASM on Oracle Enterprise Linux 32-bit 2.

I created a group of disks called + FRA for my quick/flash recovery area.
I take the backup of my database and and all backups are created sub + FRA.

My requirement I want old backups to a /backup of operating system mount points to be moved to the library of storage by my backup storage management solution.
and in the case where I want to restore everything back up I'll copy back from /backup to + FRA diskgroup and then restore my database

Is the above a good practice?
Should what I do? CP command will help? given that I have faced questions while moving the files using the command cp of ASM to the OS directories for vice versa.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    1. I'll take a daily backup of my database to the FRA + ASM disk group.
2 backups older then 1 month, that I need it submitted to / backup /.
    I used this: backupset finished after ' sysdate-30' backup format ' / testasm/backup%U' tag = "OLDBACKUPS" entry of deletion;
    is correct?
or can I say backup obsolete? and there I will be backed up obsolete since FRA on different location?
3 when I backup my Flash region recover I can instead just delete to delete the input set based on condition of "longer than 1 month?

The question is how long you want to keep your backups in both places?
    Example:
If I want to keep two months of backup (regardless of location)

    Configure the 65-day WINDOW retention policy;

Above all the backup of the database will be stored on + FRA

Then as maintenance will pass you every day all the backups more 30 days to ' / testasm / '.
    for example

    backup backupset completed after 'sysdate -xxx' format '/testasm/backup_%U' tag=OLDBACKUP delete input;

So, you all first 30 days of backup on + FRA and older than 30 days in ' / testasm / '.

So, during the restoration, the concept is the same, the Oracle will read the files in your own location.

The two locations will be kept, catalogued and managed by RMAN.

In this scenario, the RMAN delete expired files only in ' / testasm / ' because the older files will be there.

If ' / testasm / ' is not shared between the nodes, I recommend that lets you share the NFS file system. (although I prefer ACFS)

If NFS is not an option, you need to move and delete obsolete node that have mounted "/ testasm /". You should be aware of the limits of availability of this file system.

Suppose that you backup all the files in ' / testasm / ' tape (without using RMAN) and RMAN delete these files, because they are obsolete. You can restore these files from a bunch of ' / testasm / "and catalog with this command" RMAN > CATALOGUE START WITH ' / testasm / '; This will increase you the retention of backup, but covering these files saved will be your provider of backup media retention policy.

    Hope this helps,

  • Export of different color to develop the module, but even in the library module

Today, I came across a problem which I have not already seen in LR CC.

I went between the library modules and develop and has seen very significant changes in the color range and brightness of my images. Images of the library have been redder and darker than in the develop module.

The exported JPEG image color best fits my image of library module and not the image module develop such whether it should - it makes editing images very random, because I have to keep flowing back in the library module to see the actual changes that I do in the develop module.

How can I fix this bug so that develop images are accurate representations of the exported image?

    Thank you for the update.

Yes, that seems to result from the graphics processor.

Suggest you go in the Lightroom preferences > performance > uncheck the option to use the graphics processor

If that gives better results then you should try to install the latest version of the AMD graphics driver:

AMD Catalyst 15.8 Beta Driver for Windows

  • Why does an image seem different when I'm going to point to the library back

Why an image look different when I go to develop the library or back.  The histogram doesn't seem to change, but you can see a difference and I printed the and see the difference.  Very strange and I don't know how to process the image

    > Person adobe and they said it's because develop use proPhoto and library use sRGB and users go between D L & until they get the picture they want.

Yes it is misinformed. Only on a few screens of high quality should you be able to see a difference, and even then it will only appear in a few images and be quite subtle. If you see differences between the library and to the point, it is almost always a bad monitor profile that is fixed by the recalibration of the screen using calibration material (essential equipment when you do photography on any computer) or it's the problem has already been mentioned with the gpu acceleration not loading right monitor profile. Which is fixed by disabling GPU acceleration in LR 6/CC.

  • Motherboard crashed on the old computer. Moved old hard drive to new computer to access all the files. I can't locate my extensive library of bookmark on the old drive. Is there a way?

The old functions drive crashed motherboard perfectly in this most recent computer as drive "F". However I can't find a way to access the library from the bookmarks that I had before moving here, this player to the newest computer then reinstall fresh Firefox.

Is there maybe any file system or another that has perhaps kept my bookmarks of Firefox library?

That should not happen, Firefox would have no reason to look for an old profile everywhere except the reader where the active Windows version is installed. Make sure you Show hidden files and folders in folder-> Display Options in Control Panel.

  • How to import pictures to my library of Photos on Macbook Pro if I moved the library to an external drive to save space?

Recently, I copied my library of Photos (Yosemite version 10.10.5) on an external drive, so I can then delete it to free up disk space. I've read some older articles (a few years), because I can't find the newest, who speak of creation and management of affairs to a new library, but it does not appear to match the drop-down menus, I work with that.  I myself as much as to rename the Library copy, I still have on my Macbook Pro, but don't know what to do to go from there, since I seem to be outdated instructions.  I have not removed the library still existing on my Mac because I fear that I won't be able to undo everything I do.  Can someone enlighten me please?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Pictures always open and use the last use library - hold down the option key while launching Photos and choose the library on the EHD (note the EHD must be formatted Mac OS extended (journaled), be connected via a fast wired connection and should not be used as a backup volume Time Machine)-a complete test it and then you can remove the library on the internal disk (test once more before emptying the Recycle Bin)

  • Copy the library from an external hard drive to another catalog EHD and sync

Already, I saw this link but it doesn't tell me how to copy the library, it simply moving photos from one hard drive to another How to copy files to an external hard drive in Lightroom "Julieanne Kost's Blog of »

I want to know how can I make a second copy of my library on my second drive, backup in case where my only main falls down and I want it so that my catalog can be synchronized with my second backup drive.

    Any ideas?

    The easy answer is to-

    1. close Lightroom

2 use the software to 'mirror' of your Master images folder and subfolders of the primary transmission to the second DHM operation.

Some free Windows software-SyncBack, MS-Synctoy, FreeFileSync.

    * If your Lightroom catalog file exists in the records of Master images, it will appear in the "mirror".

    * You can exclude the... Previews.lrdata folder of EHD. (it can be huge, and it can be re-built)

    * Note: "block mirror" made an exact copy of the files, it adds new files and removes the file 'deleted' SMT. It should not be used as a backup of the system-Deleted files are also deleted from the "mirror".

    * Note: You must not access the EHD copy using the catalogue work Lightroom on the main drive - this will only create chaos.

    3. If you want to restore from a system crash JEP 'mirror' will catalogue and image files in the exact state at the time of the last "mirror." Copy everything back to the main unit and open the catalog. LRCAT file. Lightroom is back in business.

  • Photos will not open the iPhoto on an external drive, already "migrated" library

I moved my iPhoto to an external drive library, updated, then "migrated" photo library with the drive connected. Once I opened the Photos without the drive connected, and there is a library 'Photos' of 9 seemingly random photos. Now, the pictures will not open the old library with the drive connected. Is there a way to change the pictures in the library accesses?

Here's the disclaimer that I get: the contents of the iPhoto 'iPhoto Library' library has already migrated to the Photos.  Open the Photos to display your library or use a compatible version of iPhoto to open the iPhoto library.

(But it does not open the library on the external hard drive).

Photos of the Lauch with Opiton maintained key pressed if you get this window:

Search and select the library located on the EHD and click Choose library.  The location of the selected library will appear just below the window.

  • Transfer the library to new MBP of old MBP with music on an external hard drive

I bought a new MBP a few months ago and have not had time to properly set up immediately. I finally get to it and have met some problems with my iTunes library transfer and re-use of my music files on an existing external drive. I always kept my music files on a separate drive in order to keep the laptop drive as empty as possible for other tasks.

    News old MBP:

    OS x 10.6.8

    iTunes 11.4

Library was on the hard drive of the MBP

Music files were on an external drive, called 'LACIE_MINI '.

    New Intel MBP:

    10.10.5 OSX

    iTunes 12.3.2.35

I copied the old iTunes library to the same location on the new MBP and he watched the iTunes. Load library very well however, even if the LACIE_MINI drive is connected to the laptop, the files cannot be located in iTunes. When looking for the location of the file under 'Get Info', it points to the correct place (file://localhost/Volumes/LACIE MINI/music //) but it won't "find" and play the audio file.

To make things a touch more confusing to me, I bought a WD MyCloud NAS with the intention that she be host store all my files music and video. My goal was to eliminate the need to always have my external plugged in when you work with iTunes. I don't know what is the reliability of this facility would be.

From there, I have a few questions:

1 when your stay with my files on my external and do not use the SIN, how I have it properly locate all the music files?

    2. who is the most reliable way to access my music? Through the plugged in external or NAS?

    3. should I do to keep my music on my external and load from there or make use of the NAS?

    Thank you

    K

I copied the old iTunes library to the same location on the new MBP

You copied into the folder full of the record of the music user account from the old Mac to the same location on the new Mac iTunes ?

I noticed that the external drive is named LACIE_MINI on old Mac.  The new Mac, in the path of the song file, he says LACIE MINI with no underscore between the words.  Is it a typing mistake in your post or the real difference?

For your other questions, a directly connected external drive is more reliable and faster, as the location of your iTunes media files.
