CC of Lightroom will not import

I'm having one problem that others seem to have by not being able to import my photos into the latest version of Lightroom CC. I was able to import them into Lightroom 5 without a problem.  However, when I return to CC he does not see the files even if they are in the appropriate folder.  I guess that's because they are in the 5 catalog and not the catalog CC.  How can I get the CC catalog to add these files? Thanks in advance

Hello

You are able to see the icon of these images in the import window.

Can you copy these images on the desktop and then try the same thing.

Thank you

    Hello

You really need a little more information such as operating system, memory, etc.

Usually a mistake like this happens because a background process is running and interfere with the available RAM, not enough virtual memory (Windows), drivers of HW obsolete or just an incomplete installation.

Or, one of the biggest problems is add-ons in internet browsers.

Alternatively, another problem of Lightroom, no sufficient permissions on the directory where you import image files.

Please provide a little more information.

  • After El Capitan, set at level 6 Lightroom will not import or export of

After I got to el capitan lightroom update 6 will not import or export. When importing, there is an error that it can not read files (JPEG Olympus EM5 Mark II). I've then went into my library and edited an image and tried to export, but it will not be exported. What should I do to fix this?

You will need to fix the external HDD read/write permissions

I suggest you change the permissions for all users. See the many articles for the same on Google

  • Lightroom will not import pictures more

I used the same SIM card and shaped for a while and all of a sudden it will not import files... How can I solve this problem?

This means that you don't have the appropriate permissions to the directory that attempts to copy your photos in Lightroom.

To resolve this issue, you must determine the directory where Lightroom is trying to copy the photos to (in the import dialog on the right, this is the section named 'Destination'). Once you know which directory it is, you must change the permissions on this exact directory & read/write. If you do not know how to change the permissions, go to your favorite search engine and type change permissions Mac

  • 6 Lightroom will not import Olympus RAW

Hi, I have 6 Lightroom (NOT CC) for Mac OS x which I expect to be able to import files Olympus MDG E - M10 Mk 2 RAW (.) (ORF). However, she does not need to be imported. Will there be an update to Lightroom 6 to enable this soon? Thank you I can use Adobe's Raw Converter to get around it for now, but it adds a new step for the import process that I prefer to do without. Any info or advice much appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Mark

As mentioned above, Lightroom does not use the ACR PlugIn but it integrated into the application so s Lightroom download is necessary.

There is a link to the d/load here after the new table of camera.

  • Lightroom will not import the cr2 files

I'm trying to import CR2 files in Lightroom and it is said that "certain import operations were conducted not.» The following files were not imported because they could not be read", then it will display the file name. I saw on the forum where it is perhaps a mistake to write, but I don't know where to go to change these settings. I use an iMac on the latest OSX and the most up-to-date CC. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an expert with the product.

You go to your operating system (Mac Finder) and change the permissions on the folder to READ & WRITE permission. Which folder? The folder specified in the import in Lightroom under Destination dialog box.

  • After the migration, Lightroom will not import photos

I just upgraded a MacBook Air to Macbook Pro and migrated my catalog on the Macbook Pro. When I open LR (I have creative cloud) I can access and edit my photos, but it is impossible to import new photos in the catalog. I reinstalled LR 5.7 and tried again. I try to import RAW files (CR2 and ARW, nor will be important), and I get a message saying: he can't read the files.

    Any ideas what to do?

    Hello

It is not Lightroom is the structure of the file-level permissions.

  • 5 Lightroom will not import or export photos.  Solution you need?

In fact, the error message means you are trying to overwrite the original images that are in Lightroom. Lightroom will refuse to do as you known here as it would leave the images in Lightroom in an inconsistent state. You simply select a location different export where are your original images.

Note that this is inherent in the works of Lightroom. It is not a traditional image editor and you should not treat this way and try to crush your originals that you can do with Photoshop. When you want a file that reflects your changes, you export to a new location and use, and throw away when you are finished with them. You keep the originals intact and Lightroom will store the sequence of editing for you, then you can always return on your changes or new copies in any format or size you want to export.

  • Lightroom will not import my photos

I can't Lightroom to import my photos. I get the error message: "the following files were not imported because they could not be read. (997)

I already checked my permissions, and they are set to read and write.

I tried to import directly from the camera and through my card readers - nada.

It just started this week. Who went once and when I tried again once, it worked. Now it won't work at all. Incredibly frustrating! I see others are having this problem with no answer... Help, please!

In the import dialog box, make sure you have the Destination panel open. (This problem seems to be new in 6.1)

  • Lightroom will not import cr2 files in el capitan

Installed El Capitan on my iMac, and now Lightroom CC will read imported CR2 files. No problem prior to El Capitan. What is the problem?

Thanks, Sarika. Yes, that's the problem. The external drive is "read only".

Use disk utility, it doesn't allow me to change the permissions. This leads

me to the conclusion that the disc is "endangered". Fortunately, I have

    backups.

    Thanks again!

    Lance

This is because more than likely than external is formatted in format Windows NTFS and you had a utility installed in your earlier version of Mac OS X that could write in NTFS formatted disks and the update of El Capitan deleted this utility. OS X can read NTFS disks natively, but impossible to write in this format. You must update this utility a version that works with El Capitan.

  • 6 Lightroom will not import files (not accessible writable)

    Hello

I am currently flowing lightroom 6.7 and everytime I go to import the photos I get a notification saying that the photos cannot be copied to the destination folder because it is not writable. Screen Shot 2016-09-24 at 10.09.33 AM.png I've updated to the latest version of the software and all and the problem still occurs. All responses are greatly appreciated. (Shooting with a Sony A58).  Thank you

This problem is a problem with the permissions on the destination folder. You must ensure that the file includes both read and write permissions. If you do not know how to handle this, do a web search for something like, 'permissions of files and folder Mac"and you should find lots of information about how to change the setting.

  • 6 Lightroom will not import images from a canon 5 d cr2

I have lightroom 6.  I also have a Canon 5 d classic.  I tried to attach, nope.  I tried directly from the card reader, nope.  I transferred from the card reader to the computer and tried to import, nope.  It's just not going to work.  What is going on?

I watched my version of Lightroom 6 and it was 2.0, not upgraded

completely so I just let it upgrade again and he allowed the images to

import from the computer.  I have not tried the card reader and I

already know that it does not support attaching to this camera.  So I think that I have

have a way to get my pictures here now.  It was a frustrating trip,

Lightroom 6 was bug out of the box, but for now, it seems to be in place and

    running.

    Thank you!
