CC of Photoshop does not paint on the fill layer

I just installed photoshop CC and wanted to continue working on my old photoshop files (which I have previously edited with photoshop CS3 and photoshop 7). I use many layers of filling for my drawings in color because they are easier to change later. Things is, in photoshop CC all my layers of filling, those new and 'old', are locked. I can't paint over it when I could previously.

There will be an error message asking me to rasterize it (which I don't want, because it would be difficult to change the next time) and also a second message of 'content on the layer is not directly editable.

Is there an option that I can choose to allow the paint on the fill layer and again adjustment layers?

EDIT: I think I just found the solution to my problem. Thought I would keep the post here, just in case anyone else has problems. In phtoshop CC when you select the fill layer, an outline of the default selection appears on the color or change. I had to select the mask (the BnW thumbnail) instead. Photoshop'd and then paint on the layer of fill/adjustment.

If anyone knows anyway to let me decide the BnW default mask do not hesitate to answer
