CCIE written preparation?

Can I only read books, I don't need to use any Simulator or something to pass CCIE written? I mean I've seen in the CCIE written exam subjects who "Troubleshooting" was listed and that really mean? I must learn to troubleshoot CCIE Labs now and set up or what?

That means the "Troubleshooting", I am given a topology for troubleshooting CCIE Labs, so is not only a review of "questions"? So, how should I prepare for CCIE written? As in general. Make enough money just knowledge of books?

Kenan

Hello

While the theoretical understanding of all the topics covered in the examination plan is important to pass the written test, the CCIE is by nature a hands-on certification. You should not attempt to pass the exam without enough practical experience and a good skill set. I would recommend that you prepare the practical exam CCIE and then just do the written somewhere along the way, when you feel that you are ready and your understanding of the topics is solid. Review troubleshooting writes CCIE, be prepared to exit command or screenshots where you are asked to diagnose a problem and offer a solution. It is also useful to know the syntax of command of most of the features available on the action plan and familiarize themselves with the outputs and the sense of the common sight and orders of debugging involved in the diagnosis of the different technologies. Even if you will be not be defied with configuration to the written examination, it is in my opinion not enough for all study books if you want to spend.

Best regards

    b. framework IEEE 802.3 LLC "aka" Ethernet 802.3

What do you call the 4 types to distinguish the difference between them?

And what does it matter in the preamble? Do I just need to know what size of 8 bytes, or should I understand used signs?

    CCIE written prep.

    Hello Samuel,.

I get this, whats throwing me is that each book is calling them  something different, I need clarity here with the correct names for  these different frame types. For example is (b.) called IEEE 802.3 LLC,  Ethernet 802.3 or something else?

Well, we will look at individual types and let me grab that from my point of view, not to comment on the options at first.

The original Ethernet 1 frame was the initial implementation of Xerox Ethernet and according to Wikipedia, it has never been commercially deployed. In fact, I have trouble finding any specification on this prehistoric Ethernet format. You shouldn't bother with that much, because this type of frame is completely obsolete.

The second generation of Ethernet, also called Ethernet II, 2 Ethernet or Ethernet DIX, was developed by Xerox in cooperation with the digital and Intel. These three names - Ethernet II, 2 Ethernet and Ethernet 10 refer all the same frame format - one that we are now using:

    DstMAC, SrcMAC, EthType, data, FCS.

When TEN approached IEEE with the request to standardize the Ethernet, IEEE taken and made a little twist on the frame format, making it a little closer to HDLC which is a format of popular base at that time frame. What resulted has a skeleton base chassis:

    DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, data FCS

Note that the only difference is in the redefinition of the EthType field for the field "length". There was also a change of format in the preamble but that pass for now. This Ethernet IEEE base frame skeleton is standardized in 802.3.

I call the 802.3 a skeleton for a reason. It isn't really a format usable frame because this frame structure is absent of any identification payload. Simply, not sure what is the framework. IEEE obviously did not intend this skeleton 802.3 frame to be used just that clearly, but rather, they reused the HDLC logical link control and they adapted for Ethernet in their standard 802.2. This adaptation of the LLC consisted of adding at least three bytes of the header (flight bytes of the data section because the frame was not allowed to grow bigger): bytes DSAP, PAAS and control. So, when we take the skeleton 802.3 and composed it with the fields 802.2 LLC derived, we get

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, data, FCS

This format of image in its entirety should be called 802.2 LLC. Note that if you call it 802.3 LLC, you say nothing wrong - you have the basic skeleton 802.3 more the 802.2 LLC. Personally, I like to call it 802.2 LLC, however.

Soon, the limits of this frame format is apparent, as the DSAP/SSAP fields to describe the Protocol within the framework are just 1 byte of length, including half of the values being reserved for private/group dealing with service and the remaining values are too few to describe all protocols with realism of existing top level (not even mention a rigid process to get an official SAP for a protocol value). Therefore, IEEE came with the snap-snap-IN image format that retains the basic structure of the 802.2 LLC, but steals another 5 bytes of the data field for the Protocol provider number YES and Protocol. The entire frame would then become

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, YES, ProtoID, data, FCS

Curiously, this component extension snap-in is described in the document 802 Basic (no matter what 802.x additive). Therefore, this format of frame must be called simply SNAP 802.

    So to summarize:

DstMAC, SrcMAC, EthType, FCS data: Ethernet II, Ethernet 10 Ethernet 2

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, data FCS: IEEE 802.3 (not really usable, just a basic container)

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, data, FCS: IEEE 802.3 AND IEEE 802.2 LLC

DstMAC, SrcMAC, length, DSAP, PAAS, control, YES, ProtoID, data, FCS: IEE 802 SNAP

And how important in the preamble field? Do I just need to know that  it's 8 bytes in size, or do I need to understand the signalling used?

There are more important things on the R & S of CCIE written that the preamble of Ethernet, but just in case:

    10 = 802.3 preamble preamble + 802.3 start Frame delimiter

    Preamble: 7 bytes of 10101010 binary (0xAA or 170)

    Delimiter of start-of-Frame = 1 byte of binary 10101011 (0xAB 171 or)

IEEE comes officially divided the 8 b 10 terrainpour 7 b preamble they call preamble and 1 b called SOF field.

    Welcome to ask for more!

    Best regards

  • "Preparing Windows" on every boot and all the lost data

    Hello

I was facing this problem since yesterday. The computer was running slow and suddenly, a blue screen with "" appeared. There was a status of error under completion data. I waited until he got to 100% and I was expecting then reboot as it was written. There can be no. If I pressed the power button to restart manually. The next time computer starts, he says "Prepare Windows" I couldn't do anything other than wait until he did prepare. Once logged into my account, I noticed that everything on my desktop disappeared. All my parameters passed. applications and personal files were not deleted, but they were not on the splash screen or the office. I had find them all and put them back where they should be. I turned off my computer, and today, I realized that, once started, Windows tried to prepare again. The same thing happened. It's dissappeared. I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

    I run Windows 8 Enterprise 64 bit on HP dv7, 1070ee.

    Thank you

    Thanks for your quick response

I ran the tests on the main hard drive and memory, both managed 100%. Fortunately!

I created another account administrator and then disconnected (e) of the original account that I was already connected. I realized that the infamous 'prepare Windows' does not appear during the loading of the new account. It's a good sign. So I removed the first account I had. Kept records of course! Made some changes to the appearance of the windows. Restarted. everything was in place.

So, I guess that the problem was with the first account I was using. I don't know that is it right. Now, everything's fine.

    Thanks for the help

    Anupam

    Anupam,

It is difficult to understand the code as there are many alternatives to the query that happens. Not really sure why it is written a lot of code.

Since the code of the AOS, that all extensions have been made on this page?

The error is coming in the method executeQuery viewObject. The executeQuery() method is replaced? If so, can you provide this code?

If this is not the case, try to print the query, the dynamic whereclause, the whereclause parameters, just before calling the executeQuery() and see what are the upcoming values. This will help you to debug more far.

The query in the error message it is only a bind variable, is there anywhere in the code, it tries to set multiple connection parameters?

    See you soon

  • Submit the pdf form to E-mail written in the text boxes

I have 4 text boxes in my form. All the text boxes are for the user to enter e-mail addresses.

I would like to introduce the e-mails written in these text boxes to the form.

Can anyone help with a script for this?

Sorry, I'm not at the moment.

I prepare myself for the job and will be out until Friday.

The solution is quite simple. Simply copy the date/time field and

Copy the script in the first part of the click event of the submit button.

    Good luck

  • ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00936: lack of expression

    Hello

I am required to run the 'pass-through' Oracle SQL, to extract data from tables in the SAS for processing and handling. My code (attached) reads and writes (runs) but with zero records to test first. I can't get beyond the error to prepare.

The request is just like other queries that seem to work, but I can't get past this prepare error. I have no other access to individauls with an adequate knowledge of the PL SQL and as a last stop hoped others in the forum could quickly identify the source of the error.

Thank you very much in advance for any help.

    Jeff

    Hello again,

Wish Oracle was a bit more informative. Uses an Institute of SAS product called Enterprise Guide. A "hot fix" has been installed to solve a problem that the product appears unable to save the latest version of the revised code changes (hence "BETWEEN between" remaining even after an earlier edition). In any case, with the change, now get this error:

«ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00904: "PHRMCY_CLM_FACT".» ' LAST_SRVC_DT': invalid identifier. (The log file is displayed below)

-The-Les restes remains of the error, no matter if code "pass" is used to move the date range to Oracle (which seems correct to the log output below that I believe), or if I hard code the date range in the query SQL PL itself.

-L' preparation error always appears at the end of the internal SELECTION.
-L' error of preparation remain, with or without the GROUP BY clause.

Is there something else I'm missing? Someone suggested a reserve word - but other versions of the ANSI SQL standard, I don't see that is the case. I went to Support SAS and SAS list serve to the University of Georgia, but nothing definite from these sources. Have requested either able to run Oracle directly, outside this SAS Institute product - process.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the world very much.

    Hi George,.

I did a brief search on that, and reached a post in these forums of Linc Davis, suggesting a restart of the computer could heal the situation. Certainly worth a try.

Either way, the message you read indicates these items are not files. they are aliases (pointers) to the actual file. By double-clicking an alias will open the file it is pointed. The message "Can't find" sense - the file is not found because you deleted.

    Kind regards

  • TM taped preparation backup after update for Sierra

My MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inch, mid-2015) is incapable of me past the stage of "prepare the backup...". "after the update to Mac OS Sierra after 3 days. Other posts on this topic are pointing the finger at Sophos. I have disabled the software, and the system is still not able to go beyond the stage "preparation".

I was able to save on a USB - although it took much longer that usual (I have two backup methods).

Then, I removed the network location of the TM preferences and tried to restore again. However, the system fails in the final step of adding the network drive in the preferences. So I am only left with the ability to backup to a disk physically connected only. This is very bad and I am disappointed that Apple doesn't have a case KB already open on this.

Problems after update to MacOS Sierra:

1 TM fails backup backups existing network regardless (of Sophos or otherwise).

2 TM fails to create a new backup of network location

3 TM works with a physical backup drive connected locally.

It has been several days after the release of MacOS Sierra: I'm waiting for Apple even recognize a situation which is detrimental to the users.

However, do not interrupt your iPhone or watch if the process has already reached the stage "install" on your watch.

  • Time Machine blocked preparation backup

    Hi community

Time Machine, I get the iMac to backup, Time Capsule 371 GB of the preparation phase of backup available 998 GB for one eternity, as others have reported.

My system is an iMac (27-inch, late 2009), processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory with an ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB video card and a physical disk internal 1 TB ST31000528AS Sata media.

My last backup was September 16, 2016 @ 1257 GMT and my software was the last version of El Capitan.  (I backup to another external HARD drive, using Carbon Copy Cloner and backup guru Mac unfortunately I don't have a big enough other ext HDD to run a time Machine backup to as well).

When the TC is connected I can see the iMac and iMac.sparsebundle backup folder and when I enter the time Machine I can see the chronology running back from 16 Sep and it allows me to access the files in the folders.  So, I guess that the disk HARD of TC is OK.

Software changes have been: 1 MS a copy of CCleaner Free 1.14.451, 2 Ms Security Update 2016-001, 13 Sep Adobe Flash, 14 Sep 12.5.1, 16 Sep Digital Camera RAW compatibility update iTunes.  Never had a problem before with these downloads.  Safari updated September 20, then to Sierra 22 Sep having saved first using the CCC and MBG.

Through the various pages of help through Google.  Follow-up advice given to reset the SMC and the PRAM, deleted Sophos home and com.apple.TimeMachine.plist and com.apple.TimeMachine.plist.lockfile.

Rebooted and restarted the iMac and Time Capsule several times, done many backups check the reset even the time Capsule disk, but all without success.

I'm still stuck in preparation of backup when I reselect the backup drive.

    Can someone help please?

Finally, I had a problem in 2014 when Apple recalled the iMac to a HARD drive replacement program.  This was successful, but a few days later the Time Machine and time Capsule would not save.  This is due to the component change when the UUID was different.  The advice I would have given were to know how inherit backup and controls disk associated within the Terminal. Stupidly, I started again when the TC asked me to and then discovered the Terminal commands a few days later.  The loss of backups of 4 years was no big problem, so I suppose that if I have to, I won't again unless a member of the smart community can better advise me please?

    Good community

I forgot to tell you that I save on a Capsule of 1 GB bought in 2010 with the iMac.

Don't know how, but not before I finished posting my above query Time Machine kicked back in action and performed a backup pick up all the changes, about 50 GB since Sept. 16.

He did once again this morning, so I'm sorry I can't post what Time Machine and my Time Capsule due action to act properly.

    Concerning

  • sierra macOS Time Machine backup preparation

Since the update to Mac OS sierra my TimeMachine backups stuck "preparing backup". I have a strong initial backup, but my laptop can sit at night and still be "preparing backup" the next morning. He does not sleep, the connection is solid, its power. The drive works fine. I have reset the SMC and LANDAU, but this has not fixed the problem.

I use a WD MyBook Live at home and a WD MyCloud to work. The two are connected through wireless 5 GHz with nothing sitting on a network which would be suck bandwidth.

Anyone else see this issue? Can anyone suggest a solution?

I could solve my problem by going to the site Web of Sophos home and turn off its protection.

After the reboot "Preparing backup...". "took a lot less time and the actual transfer to my network drive finally started.

  • MacOS Sierra - time machine stuck preparation backup on network devices

Since I've upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, cannot use my local backup USB. Time Machine is stuck with the message "preparing backup" - more than 12 hours - for network devices, an Apple FileVault and another NAS device. Works very well with the local USB drive.

Something funny underway with network devices such that she works for the drives the.

Hope Apple take note and fix.

I have the same problem. I found this,

macOS, problems of the Sierra: Time Machine backup Mac

Time Machine problems prevented the Mac owners of their devices to backup since the upgrade to Mac OS Sierra, and the problem is widespread enough that Apple has published a guide on what to do if you can't back up:

    Discount for the iMac SMC

    1. turn off the device

    2. unplug the power cord from the monitor

    3. wait 60 seconds

    4 reconnect the power cord

    5. DON'T TURN ON DEVICE

    Reset the PRAM

    1. the computer must always be switched off.

    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: command, Option, P, and r. you need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.

    3. press and release the power button to turn on the computer.

    4. press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You have to press these keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold the keys down until the computer is restarted, and you hear the tone of starting for the 3rd time.

    5. release the keys.

You can then try to save again. If this does not work, try to disable indexing on the drive you want to back up.

but I'm not sure it's the same question. I'll try it and report.

    Hi all

I've updated to Sierra this morning and since then my WD My Book for Mac has been slain in the backup of the preparation for about 10 hours. My backup before the upgrade went through without a problem. Is the amount of time the backup takes to be expected with the upgrade or it's just stuck in limbo?

I would be happy to help you find the instructions written in the Maps app.  Once you enter your destination and started browsing, slide up from the bottom of the screen and select "Details". You will find a list of indications turn-by-turn for your itinerary.

If you have problems, let the community know. We are all here to help.

    Best regards
