  • How to fix failues error 2203 during startup, installation of HP S/W and S/W JAVA updates.

    Recently I experience 3 installation failures each based on the code of 2203. The first is a «tray app» trying to load at startup, another occurs during a full S/W installation of an all-in-one HP printer and the latter implies simply try installing later in the S/W JAVA review. I am also unable to uninstall HP both JAVA installs original. I can't determine what the trayapp error nuisance boot trying to install and it finally stopped the attempts after that 6-12 cancel orders. I have not had any success, getting around the two problem areas second. I tried two types of scan/repair the registry also with no success tools

    I've seen several stories on this forum with similar problems but all seem to focus on the tent to install individual packages of Microsoft Office. I also see tips to overcome their problems.  So I was wondering if I should follow the same steps with my problems could possibly expect similar success?  And yet, I should repeat these steps for each problem separately or only "compensation" would be enough for everyone?

  • startup problem, this entry is normal?

    Hi, I have a few annoying problems when I start my pc, I still get startup entries and I can't seem to find a way to get rid of them.
    Ive tried to install Windows xp on another partition but I failed and now whenever I start my pc I get this entry at startup: "Installation of Microsoft Windows XP. If I don't do anything the pc will try to install windows xp, and I don't want that. I want to delete the startup entry.
    I did a little research and I found out that I need to change the boot.ini file, but it has only one entrance of operating system on it. :
    [boot loader]
    Timeout = 3
    default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (3) \WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    "multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (3) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect

    Ive also tried msconfig - boot.ini - check all boot paths, but it says:
    "" It seems that the next line in the boot.ini file does not refer to a valid operating system: multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (1) partition (3) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetect" you want to remove from the boot.ini file? " "  .

    And when I click on "Yes" Msconfig closed suddenly, no error message, no confirmation, no nothing.
    Can you please help me understand this and remove "install windows xp" startup screen?
    The operating system that the use of im at the moment (and I want to continue to use) is windows xp sp3 and its installed in the C: partition
    Any help will be greatly apreciated! :)

    Anyway, if I create a key USB bootable with the recovery console Xp can I keep the files that are already in my pc from this error "ntldr is missing"?
    Thank you very much for your help!

    Use a different USB key.  They are pretty cheap.

    When you follow the directions to put the recovery on a USB Console, it must understand that to put a copy of ntldr on the key... but I would like to keep the one you have without changes, just in case.

    [...] However, the problem is not not downloading, but it's the installation later. Some return immediately with a failed installation (80070003) and others fail to install after the required reboot of Vista (8007371C).

    A repair install is the usual solution of SFC/scannow does not work.
    However, a repair (AKA In-Place Upgrade) installation will be not solve the problem if it is due to a hijackware infection.

    If you don't know how to do a repair install, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958044
    Method 2 (do not hold account of the article refers to the error code, I only use it as an example of how repair installation).

    NB: If you have installed SP1 or SP2 for Vista

    Step 7 (method for Windows Vista), the * UPGRADE option is not available because Service Pack/s are installed and that your operating system is newer than the system you are trying to reinstall, so service pack/s must be removed in this case.

    I solved the problem accidentally, what I found was that I used Moba-Xterm and this product assigns to the variable display in its own way.

    In fact, it is not necessary to set the DISPLAY variable at all. so when I'm assigning the variable DISPLAY he was throwing these errors.

    the solution was to simply log into oracle account and run the installer witout setting the DISPLAY variable.

  • Windows Installer keeps trying to install an update for Paint Shop Photo Album, which is no longer available. Slow computer at startup.

    Original title: update

    Windows Installer keeps trying to install an update for Paint Shop Photo Album, which is no longer available. How he remove without disabling the windows installer? I installed v4.5 installer that allows enabling or disabling updates. Paint Shop appears but the box is not checked, so the installer must ignore, right?

    Using msconfig, I can find nothing in startup or services that will completely eliminate the problem, Evin with instaler disabled, Setup window will start to blink during boot computer has been scanned and cleaned with Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpy and Spybot. \

    There is a key in registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\ referring to it.

    What is no longer available - Paint Shop Photo Album or the update?

    If you have uninstalled Paint Shop Photo Album, you might see if running free Revo Uninstaller is able to get rid of leftovers that could cause problems.
