CDRWDVD PBDS DH - 48C2S SCSI cdrom device

I: ring road. CDROM CDRWDVD PBDS DH - 48C2S SCSI installed on my Inspiron 531 00

under Windows Vista.

I have a request that I run on my old Dell XP system based. AVANTRIX Inc. - CD Audio Maker Version 5.03.  Works very well without any problems.

On my Inspiron 531 when I open the application, I get the following error: NO disc cd writer found.

It is said to install the required ASPI drivers. Don't know what it is? Searched for driver dell section and

cannot find drivers for the BDS CDRWDVD DH-48C2S?

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thank you

Jim

PS I had entered it as a response to a previous post. New to this. Should have done it as a new post. Sorry...

  • Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Original title: the answer useful?

Help, please! Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

I can burn music and play music CDs, but can play any dvd any help please it tells me to insert the disc

Besides the fact that you have posted in the wrong forum.  (A mod will be soon along move this thread).

You describe the device as a DVD and CDRom.

If the drive is a CD player, then the symptoms you describe to wait.  CD player will only recognize the DVD.

However, your drive may not be a CDRom drive as you say you can burn CDs - a CDRom is unable to burn anything.

It seems that you have a CD burner, which means that it won't recognize DVD.

(A DVD burner can read/write CDs, but a CD burner can't read/write DVD)

  • Windows does not recognize CDRWDVD PBDS DH-48C2S as a CD burner

    Hi all

As it is said in the topic I have CD burning problems as Windows does not recognize my drive as a CD burner.

    First my system:

    Dell Optiplex 755

    Intel Core 2 Duo

    E6750 @ 2 .66GHz

    980 MB RAM

    XP Pro SP2

When I put a CD - RW in the drive is not recognized at all (when clicking on the drive in Windows Explorer, once the disk in it says "D:\ is not accessible.  Incorrect function. »).  I put no Virgin CD in the drive and browse the content very well via Windows Explorer.  Another reason why I know that Windows does not recognize the drive as a CD burner, it is that when I open Windows Media Player and click on burn, he says the following above the Virgin to burn: "connect a burner and restart the player.

The drive appears as working properly in Device Manager.  I think the problem is that it uses the generic drivers following windows that appear not to be CD RW drivers:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\imapi.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\storprop.dll

It isn't a hardware problem, since we have three of these exact same new computers with the same model CD/DVD drive and the problem exists on all three PCs (so the probability that each have three new PC a failed drive is tiny).

Unfortunately I can't find a updated driver/firmware update for this model of hard drive anywhere on this site or when I googled the model.  I tried uninstalling the drive through Device Manager, then restart the computer so that Windows reinstall it but the problem persists.

Anyone know how to fix this?  Can someone point me to a generic Windows XP CD RW driver because that might solve the problem?

    Thank you.

  • HyperDrive 5 and 'fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device.

    Colleagues ESX - ers,

I think to buy a very fast RAM-disk, the "HyperDrive5", in:

    http://www.hyperossystems.co.UK/

It is fully compatible SATAII (and therefore must be recognized by my E200 very well). It is, will be virtualization ESX 3.5 as SCSI drive slow down questions too? My server lists current as disc:

da0: fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 device

    da0: 320,000 MB/s transfers (160,000 MHz, offset 127, 16-bit),

    Tagged Queueing active

Thus, when you buy the ramdisk, fixed Direct Access SCSI-2 unit of Vmware will be the bottleneck? Or it dimensionnera upward, in speed, according to the new features of the psycical (much faster) of the RAM disk?

If it works fine, but SAS, SATA, SCSI and RAM all have different performance characteristics. It will not change the other. The controller will be your factor limiting.

  • Problem with TSST corp CDDVDW SH - 224DB SCSI CdRom driver.

I can't find a driver to load when you reinstall my Win 7 Prof SP1 from DVD.

The system is running OK and Device Manager shows the driver C:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys

However in the re-installation of Windows 7, it says there is no driver to load for the CD/DVD device.

I wish it was on the Windows 7 installation DVD, but it is not found.

Where is he? It doesn't seem to be that any source found on the net to research.

    UPDATING and closing

I dodged the problem by creating a USB version of the SP1 + Windows 7 software and helping to do a upgrade in place.

Why the DVD created from the same thing. ISO does not recognize the CDDVDW. ?

The improved version recognizes the device and it works properly.

I had a suggestion from another source that what was really wrong was perhaps he found no driver for the Intel RAID but incorrectly displays the CD/DVD as missing a driver. Just as confusing circumvented by making the upgrade in place.
