CF9 ORM relational mapping + Flash Builder 4 nested value objects errors

Hi all

I tried to use relational mapping ORM in ColdFusion 9 and combine this with Flash Builder Beta 2 to manipulate the data. What I have are a two simple tables that contains 3 columns each:

Table properties:

ID (primary key)

PropertyName (data)

Tenants (unique id)

Table of tenants:

ID (primary key)

TenantName (data)

TenantID (unique identification number)

And two cfc for each table.

And i test to see how the data comes back with this:

The result is such that it is supposed to be; I get an array of property objects filled with all the data and the property of tenants filled with an array of objects of tenants. The problem occurs when I try to load the data using the flash builder via a service using RemoteObject.

Flex app:

Flex load all the data it is supposed except for tenants. The debugger wrote a message saying that I would not convert [@ea36699] to mx.collections.ArrayCollection. I also tried with a generator of ORM in ColdFusion Builder, and then adding the service via the Data/Services Panel in Flash Builder. Tried to click-right-how the Test works on getAllProperties (): [Properties] the test passes and everything is working properly.

It could be something really really small miss me him but I can't understand it please help! Thanks in advance!

I struggled with this for hours a few weeks back. Add the remotingfetch = "true" attribute to your relationship like this:

I tried to use the Flash Builder product since last May. I get the below error when I try to install. I had a case open, but no help. Case #0183222369. I would like to use the product, I have to pay for the product, its unreal that this is always a problem. Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.

NullPointerExceptions endless in Flash Builder 4.5
I have been using Flash Builder 4.5 with the kit Flex 3 SDK. 5 b on Mac OS X 10.8.2 for a few months. It was not an experience perfect - the software has a few bugs, but in general he worked until recently.
Our application includes two Flash Builder 'projects', which refers to the other. Whenever clone us the repository, it is necessary to update the file .project of the primary project to include the new path of the secondary project.

I don't know what is happening. It seems I must have done something else and forgot about it, because the current situation makes no sense. Someone has encountered this problem before? Do you have an idea what could be causing it, or that I could do about it?
We finally found a solution. It's rather disappointing.

Ignore any errors.

Import your project files and activate the correct SDK version in the order you want. If you find yourself with a messed up view "Project Explorer", with just the close and reopen it or restart Flash Builder.

Once the display of "Project Explorer" is available, select your primary project and run it. It should work!

Flash Builder 4 doesn't have the 'BlackBerry Tablet AIR Application".

I'm trying to get the HelloWorld application to work, but I can't find the "BlackBerry Tablet AIR Application" option. It should appear in the debug configuration, but it's not.

Why not be able to display boxes of the IP and the password in the configuration of run/debug in Flash builder

Flash Builder 4 and CF9 - configuration

I am new to Flash Builder, but not for the CF. I am able to test the whole very well locally using tutorials like this: http://www.eonflex.com/?p=276 & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUy740fjILI. But how to configure FB to work with real data on my server? I don't see a place to plug in Flash Builder on my server, so I can refer CFC here as well as data in SQL.

I don't think you really want to develop on production data, because crazy things happen and you may lose or destroy your data by accident. Personally, I like having 3 spaces. 1st being my machine where I develop and test, 2nd has a place where my test group can go and test the new etc. etc... 3rd the real production server, where the site/app is released when all the testing is done. as far as CFC and data get you only really need to worry the logical path and the sources of data on the servers of CF.

for example:

Server 1 (dev):

physical path: c:\intepub\wwwroot\mycfcs\

logical path in cf admin: /flexServices

name of the data source: exampledatasource

database server: SERVER1

database: MyTestData

Server 2 (prod):

physical path: c:\some\different\path\

logical path in cf admin: /flexServices (the same as before)

name of the data source: exampledatasource (self-titled)

database server: SERVER1

database: MySuperProductionDatabase (duty to keep the same structure)

So now you can access all your data by simply using the flexServices mapping. When you click the button run in FB it will go to your localhost and when published it will go to the production data. In this way, that you don't have to risk losing or damaging anything.

Flash Builder, CFB, CF9 + CFC generator

I've implemented a ColdFusion 9 remote and local server. Finally, it seems to work; I set up Flash Builder with Cold Fusion Builder plugin to use both of these servers to access data sources and generate CFCS. When I select a table from a data source try it to generate a SWC wonder destination... at this stage I don't know even where to start. I tried many different ways, but nothing seems to be generated. I'm perfectly able to do this in Flex Builder 3, where he can simply select the package to generate the SWC in. Any ideas what I could do wrong?

I guess the problem is that when the application attempts to run on my device, the extension is not find application descriptor file. Is there anything else I need to do?

Here is the solution in case anyone else runs into this problem. Flash Builder is to create the deployment at the launch, it converts the path mapped to a local path mutilated for donkey find the descriptor to a relative path, which can not be found and get the null pointer. Making the path to output folder actually local to the computer, as opposed to the default which creates FB, solves the error and still lets blazeds access from the device.

issues running app with Flash builder 4

I recently started having issues running in Flash builder. Projects that had no problem running are now sent me errors as follows:

1046: type was not found or is not a constant of compilation: Array.

etc...

If I close Flash builder and re - open, I am able to run the project again, but the problem will come back later. Even the FullRSSReader sample project has this problem.

This type of problem has bought about a month ago or not. Basically, if you use the QNXStageWebView class in your application it cause all these mistakes, you said. they are not real mistakes just flash builder think there are errors - a bit like a false positive. We propped it up like a bug related to the QNXStageWebView, because it is undocumented and has already been mentioned as really bug.

Flash Builder 4.7 on Win7(64bit) can not debug on device ios - Air 19.0, iTunes 12.3, ios 9.0 latest

Debugging on device worked fine then suddenly stopped a couple of weeks.
I think that this has coincided with an update to iTunes, but cannot be sure cos I've had in a few days. many versions of compilers Air reloading, iTunes and trawling through dozens of related posts for the same problem with older combos Air/iTunes and I forgot how it started!
Current error on compiling to debugging the ActionScript Mobile iPad device Air2 project creates the ipa file and then fails on install device with the error "unable to enumerate devices.
"idb.exe - devices ' of Air 19.0 compiler detects correctly connected devices.
I tried:
-uninstall all the programs Apple (iTunes, support MobileDevice, Hello, Apple Software Update, App Support(32&64bit)) and Java and Adobe FlashBuilder then reinstall after a reboot.
-Create a Flash Builder project
-installation of Air 3.4, 18.0, 19.0
-installation of iTunes 12.0.1, old 12.1.3 video cards (for), old video cards of 12.2.2 (for), 12.1.2 12.2.2 12.2.25
-8 and 9.0 on the ipad ios
Different combinations give different errors, but none work.
I can load ipa to the device using iTunes, but does not connect compilation of debug debugger on usb.
Will also load Simulator but as app for Retina display I don't see entire application on the screen (but that's another problem-_-)
This problem seems to have been around for a few years with each new Air/iTunes combo.
Does anyone have a current solution?

In the Flex 3 documentation for the MXMLC Compiler, the rsl-url of the option attribute is described as

"You specify the location of the SWF file to the location of the application deployment.

For example, if you store a file named library.swf in the web_root/libraries directory on the

Web server and application in the root web, you specify libraries/library.swf. »

This clearly indicates that the URL of the library is relative to the swf file.

The documentation for the rsl-url of the runtime-shared-library-path option attribute is not so clear, however:

"Rsl - url argument is the URL of the RSL that will be used to load the RSL during execution.
The compiler does not check the existence of the SWF file at this location at compile time.
It stores this string in the application, however, and he uses at run time. As a result, the
SWF file must be available at run time, but not necessarily at compile time. »

Obviously, both rsl-url attribute should contain a URL to the swf app and the 3.1 Flex MXMLC was store the URL as relative to the web root. I offset this in my config 3.1 files by providing a URL relative to the root, but without the leading slash (/). This bug has been fixed somewhere between 3.1 and 3.6 so my relative to the root URL were now be saved correctly, as app-parent.

Adding a bar leading slash (/) to my relative to the root URL solves the problem.

I already went to the binding dialog box provided to download Flash Player debug builds. I installed the Plugin and AX versions of the debugger. Reboot all browsers, Flash Builder and restarted the PC for good measure. I spent a good amount of time looking for information on this issue. All the threads I found who were related to this issue was to present one must be achievable. So I'm starting a thread on this problem.
I'm running Flash Builder 4.5 on Windows Vista 32-bit. I tried to use 3.6.24 FireFox and IE 8.0.6001.
I started with the trial version and then purchased the license online. I do not know if that has an impact.
All the information to diagnose this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Try to uninstall Flash Player with this uninstaller from Adobe, please make sure that you close all applications that may be using Flash Player. Then try again to install your Flash Player debugger. He has solved it for me.

SMA is a fairly old technology and is gradually removed from Illustrator, so why it is not recommended. If you create a plugin that uses WMD in CS5 so do not expect that it will work in CS6!

Flash UI, which are the CSXS Extensions can be created in flash builder, Extension Builder (which is a plugin for flash builder specially designed for the development of the extension). You can download a trial version of EB and read the documentation and tutorials on the devnet page: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/cs-extension-builder.html

As well as the interface user for plugins, you can also write extensions entirely in actionscript that interact directly with the Illustrator script DOM (using libraries CSAW), in fact the extensions can be extremely powerful - have a look at the blog of messages/tutorials related to this devnet page if you are interested. Another good point is that if you develop for many products, you can write the user interface once and it will work I, Ps, Id, and more.

As for which is better, it is certainly much faster to develop actionscript based UIS - take a look at the example of FreeGridUI in the CS5 SDK or download the sample in Extension Builder extensions (available under the eclipse Import... menu item) to see how easy it is to write an extension. The main complexity with use of an extension as a front-end is the communication between the native plugin and extension flash (which is possible by sending XML via CSXS events), but it's pretty simple once you've done it a couple of times!

For the user interface, you can drag and drop widgets in a graphical editor, write and modify your MXML (an XML variant) user interface code and previsualisez without evening that executes your code - it had developed a compelling UI really quick and easy. Not only that, but the use of the generator of the extension, it is easy to run/debug/profile your extension directly in Illustrator (or other point products). There are full of large flash applications and a large community - a community much larger than those experienced with ADM. If you try to find a way to do something in an actionscript UI you will probably be able to find something quickly - after all an extension is based on flash, so you can reuse code snippets and code flash/Air applications.

For learning flash, the Flex in a week video tutorial is a great place to start - check it out at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/videotraining.html. You should be aware that extensions must use Flex 3.4 to CS5/5.5, then part of the substance in the flex in a tutorial of the week does not apply (it is oriented towards Flex 4). There are also a lot of great samples/tutorials on the internet to help you get started, and samples that come with builder extension show you how to use the CSXS stack for things like menus that drop down from the Panel, preferences, etc.

As well as Flash you can also write your user interface code items in a third party such as Qt so widget setting you prefer to stay in C++ code. I have not tried it personally, but there are a few messages on the forum, that you may find useful if you are interested in this approach, and other users might be able to help too.

Cannot install Flash Builder 4; Failed to retrieve the latest versions

I am Windows 7 64 bit on a network where my Documents and my office are related to a roaming profile are applied where the quotas for the use of space. I was unable to install Flash Builder 4 because of this issue, which Adobe is known and apparently corrected (thanks, Chris A.).
However, I can't even extract Burrito or the FB4.5 draft because the installation exe retrieved automatically on the desktop. Under 4.0, I could change the extraction location.
Is there a way around this problem?

@Ron - Thanks for letting us know. I'm surprised that anyone encountered this limitation before today.

Fortunately, there is a solution:

-Open a command window and cd to the location of the downloaded self-extracting exe file

-Run the exe with the/d (destination) option, which allows you to adapt the path where the installation program is extracted.

In my case, the chain of syntax full looked this way:

FlashBuilder_4_5_LS10.exe /d c:\customExtractionFolder

Flex components do not work after the upgrade to Flash Builder 4

I just bought Flash Builder 4 and imported my Flex Builder 3 project. Everything worked except my Flex components that have been created in Flash Professional using the Kit of Compoent Flex may not appear at all in my Flex application. The components have been created in Flash CS3 and published to a CFC. I even tried the upgrade to Flash Professional CS5 and publish again, but that did not help. These components work in Flex Builder 3 with Flex SDK 3.2. Anyone know why they do not appear in Flash Builder 4 with Flex SDK 4.1 and AIR 2.5 SDK? I need to work with AIR SDK 2.5 so I can compile for Android. Thank you, Ryan.
P.S. when I say that they are not I mean that they are not visible in the currently running application. Flash Builder is find in the good SWC because I instantiate components in my mxml file and it compiles without error. -Ryan

I downloaded the SWC and looked inside. It is not related with Flex 4

version of the FCC. I think you need to check your configuration. The CFC

would have a substantially larger size once you get it right.
