NullPointerExceptions endless in Flash Builder 4.5

I have been using Flash Builder 4.5 with the kit Flex 3 SDK. 5 b on Mac OS X 10.8.2 for a few months. It was not an experience perfect - the software has a few bugs, but in general he worked until recently.

Our application includes two Flash Builder 'projects', which refers to the other. Whenever clone us the repository, it is necessary to update the file .project of the primary project to include the new path of the secondary project.

The last thing I did before all broken did was move the folder containing the project to a new location. As expected, when I open Flash Builder, it complained that it couldn't find my project files, and they were all marked as inaccessible in the "Package Explorer" view. I did not remove inaccessible project in my workspace, but I tried to re - import the main project of his new location. It was the first time I saw a dialog box that has haunted me since:

'Building workspace' has encountered a problem. Errors occurred during the build. Details: Errors running 'Flex' on project 'configurator'. java.lang.NullPointerException

The view of 'Problems' told me to return in the errorlog...

Errors (2 items): an internal build error has occurred. See the error log for more information.

.. but the error log was empty!

The "Package Explorer" view has not changed (the new draft has not been listed) so I decided to just try the import again. When I chose the directory of the project, Flash Builder said that I couldn't import it because the project was already in the workspace. "But the Explorer Package says it's not... maybe he'll try again if I restart Flash Builder" I thought. I have bad thought. When I rebooted, it is what I saw:

Could not create the view: an unexpected exception was thrown.

He could not yet list the projects so that I could remove the one that was the origin of the problem. A similar message was displayed in the mode "Editor." Deleting all files from the project did not help either. I was unable to set the workspace, and the only way I could continue to use Flash Builder has been creating a new workspace.

Since then, I tried a lot of different things:

  • Reinstalled Flash Builder 4.5.
  • Reinstalled Flex SDK 3. 5b.
  • Excerpt from a six - month old version of the project.
  • Flash Builder 4.6 upgrade.
  • Created a new user profile on my computer.
  • Tried to remove some trace could have broken things:
    1. Instruments to monitor the process of Flash Builder affects all files.
    2. Uninstalled Flash Builder.
    3. Used find to locate include files builder or eclipse in their name.
    4. Delete all the files found in (1) or (3) who seemed possibly related to Flash Builder.
    5. Reinstalled Flash Builder.
  • Installed Flash Builder 4.5 on another Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
  • Installed Flash Builder 4.5 in a Windows 7 VM.

None has made any difference. It seems impossible.

Other members of my team have worked on this project for a few years without running into this particular issue, yet now project versions from before that I started appear to be broken, and even with the help of new installations of Flash Builder on entirely different systems also violates.

I don't know what is happening. It seems I must have done something else and forgot about it, because the current situation makes no sense. Someone has encountered this problem before? Do you have an idea what could be causing it, or that I could do about it?

We finally found a solution. It's rather disappointing.

Ignore any errors.

Import your project files and activate the correct SDK version in the order you want. If you find yourself with a messed up view "Project Explorer", with just the close and reopen it or restart Flash Builder.

Once the display of "Project Explorer" is available, select your primary project and run it. It should work!

  • Flash Builder compilation bug; What am I doing here?

    Hello

I recently did a clean install of Windows, and as a result, Flash Builder.

Now, whenever I try to compile _FOR_RELEASE_ against a good project, I get the below error.

    No error displayed when debugging.

The project is good and of a long-established date codebase I've been working with for several years.

    HOW TO COMPILE?

    Thank you

  • Flash Builder 4 - Configuration error (OSX 10.5)

I currently run plugin eclipse for Flash Builder 4 under Eclipse 3.5. I installed the plugins are: Subclipse 1.6 and Aptana Studio 2.0. When I have the FB plugin with other plugins all works fine until I reboot OSX. After a reboot when I go to launch Eclipse I am presented with the following:

I have not contacted technical support Adobe still on this issue. Following the statement I uninstall FB and the same Eclipse and download and install them both but especially every time that I reboot OSX and/or restart eclipse I am presented with the error Configuration screen. Note: when this error message appears I am unable to view Flash Builder related perspectives. That is to say, when I open *.as files that I am presented with a blank point of view. ~ Go

I won't move on me because it took a few days for the problem appears for the first time, but I seem to have fixed. When I came first on the configuration error I rode back to the beta versions of Flash Builder and CFBuilder, but today when I pulled upward, Eclipse, I was greeted with a warning that says that the beta version of CFBuilder had expired. I have uninstalled and installed the release version. After having restarted Eclipse, I got an error message that says: "License for this product has stopped working". I came across this technical note and began working through the recommended patches. In the end, I uninstalled all of my Adobe products and removed the Adobe PCD, backup and inventories of caps. I downloaded a new Eclipse installation and started to re-installed Adobe products. For the moment, I have versions of Flash Builder and CFBuilder running with happiness as plugins.

  • Flash Builder random error associated with CFCS 'qnx-screen '.

    Hey all,.

It's been about 8 months since I finally published my app PlayBook... It's been long since, so I'm a bit rusty...

I'm seeing my source code, compile it with the new SDK.

I downloaded the Simulator 2.0, updated the OS on my tablet to 2.0 and installed the new Tablet OS Beta 2.0 SDK.

I am trying to get my application up and running, and I get this error:

    "Description Resource Path location Type
"Could not open" / Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.5/sdks/RIM/blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.0.0/frameworks/libs/qnx-screen ' PaperRobo unknown Flex problem.

I use a Mac and Flash Builder 4.5 running

I use the Flex SDK 4.5.1... and it seems that all the appropriate Blackberry tablet SDK swcs are connected properly... See screenshot:

    Any ideas what's not here?

It also looks that QNXApplicationEvent no longer exists?

I also tried to create a new project from scratch and get the same error of Flash Builder

I don't think that there is nothing wrong with your stature. Try to create a new project, as shown in jtegen and see if it works. If this does not work, you can still manually add the .swc files.

It seems to be looking for them in the wrong place.

    "/ Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.5/sdks/RIM/blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.0.0/framework"

    s/libs/qnx-screen'

    Should be "/ Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.5/sdks/RIM/blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.0.0/framework"

    s/libs/qnx/qnx-screen

If you do this be sure to do the qnx - air.swc marked as external.

  • Don't Flash Builder 4.7 problem - no platform BB

Hi, I installed the FB 4.7 on my PC.

I downloaded the SDK of AIR in BB Site and installed.

I tried to create a project, but there are only two platforms listed, it's to say, iOS and Android and no BB it.

Anyone faced the same problem before? 0o0o

I use Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 for my Blackberry 10 development, although I use Macbook would highlight, but I also had FB4.7 installed on the PC. It is quiet easy to install BB Developer tools on PC.

    1. first of all, you must run FB4.7 with administrative control.

    2. in your IDE FB4.7 Menu, click help-> install BB 10 publication support or install new software-> type "Blackberry" next to work with, now, you will see the option of ' Blackberry plugin for Flash Builder 4.7... '-> option-> check on BB OS Support checkbox statement select 10, press 'Next' then finished once installed.

    3. restart your Flash Builder and try to create the new project Mobile AS3 or Flex Mobile, you will see Blackberry option along with two others.

Note: BB 10.1 and before, support Adobe AIR version 3.1 only so make sure that you have not superimposed latest version of Adobe AIR in your Flash Builder.

How can I get this fix so I can run the new Flash Builder?

Does anyone have a link to the beta 2 release, so at least I can continue to work?

    Thank you.

Good way to spend half a day. Reinstall solved the problem.

  • Using the two PB 2.0 + SDK & BB10 Air SDK in Flash Builder 4.6

    Hello

Any of you have experience creating applications using the PB2 + and BB10 Air SDK in Flash Builder? How do you change the build configuration between two SOFTWARE development kits? So let's say you make apps for Playbook and at the same time you are doing apps for BB10...

Where do you set your IDE with these settings?

    Looking forward to your answers.

There is essentially only one way to do it: you first install the 2.0 + SDK, then the BB10 Beta SDK. This is how you make sure that you have the data of these two software development kits installed on your pc. The Flash Builder plugin will be the BB10 sdk.

I tested some of the components of the SDK BB10 on PlayBook OS 2.0.1. Needless to say that some features are not supported.
Note: When I talk about libraries and 'ane's, I mean those provided by the SDK BB10. The following findings are valid with a pre-BB10 PlayBook OS 2.0.1 is the last one I think. PlayBook OS 2.1 can be considered BB10, although some features don't work there either.
Here's what I found: you can use fuse controls, but the classes in the package "qnx.fuse.ui.dialog" do not work because the classes in the package "qnx.fuse.ui.window" do NOT work.
You cannot use "QNXDevice.ane" because "NavControl" class which is indispensable to the actions of the bezel does not work and the notifications do not work either.
If you use "fuse" components, you must also use 'QNXSkins.ane '.
The "QNXLocale.ane" does not work. 'QNXNetwork.ane' no test however. The framework of the call does not work.

Phew, that was some writing. If I missed something or you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Flash Builder 4.6 for PHP and SDK 2 questions

I have problems with Flash Builder for PHP 4.6 and the Playbook Air SDK 2.0. It worked fine with the Air SDK 1 Playbook, but for 2.0 he moved not (error integration with Flash Builder) and when I try to update in Flash builder I get an error of missing requirements. Flash builder 4.6 works fine with the PlayBook SDK, but not the PHP version. I bought the PHP version after the end of my trial of 4.6 so I could build an app that tied in the server services and to think that both versions are the same.

Everyone knows this and is at - it a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Flash Builder for PHP 4.6 is not supported by the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

  • Everyone must pay for Adobe Flash Builder 4 plug

    Hi to everyone.

    I have a question:

I want to develop apps for playbook, but I am disappointed that I have to pay to get a serial number for Adobe Flash Builder 4 plug-in.

For the standard edition is $ 249 and the full version is $ 699. It is horible.

Adobe has a program for students and unemployed people. They also have a pug-in trial for 60 days.

Are there other ways to get a free version of full or plug-in Adobe Flash Builder or even another way, avoiding to buy something, but still have the opportunity to make the app for PlayBook?

    Thank you in advance.

Do not buy anything to develop for the PlayBook, you can see my how-to at http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-AIR/HOWTO-Compile-and-Debug-without-F... . You do not get the full integrated IDE experience, but you can write your ActionScript code in any text editor and compiling/debugging with free tools.

  • Packaging and signing in Flash Builder Burrito using 0.9.4 SDK

Hey guys. I know frankly, there are 1 million post on the forums about this, but I wanted to be sure and had a few questions myself. Good so I used Flash Builder Burrito to sign and package my request. My app is a Mobile Flex Application and I use 0.9.4 SDK. I used the MANY post on this forum through signature and methods of packaging and it worked perfectly, no errors at all. The two files that I got after conditioning and signature was my apps .bar and bar.sign files. I saw in other post to extract the .bar file to see if its signed and if the icon is there. How do you do this will WinRAR or PowerISO to extract this file type. I fear only because all Iv seen post are all saying theres tons of bugs with the packaging and signing using burrito, but all I could see was that they were using the SDK 0.9.3. Should I have a problem with my .bar file? I don't know how to extract my .bar file to view the contents, so I can at least check to make sure that it is signed and packaged properly. Can someone me another message or an article on how to extract the .bar file and check to make sure that its all good to present, RIMM. My previous version was rejected of RIMM is not signed and sent the Bug of version. I have just re-climbed the .bar I got to use the new SDK and had no errors, so I hope this is right. Anyway thanks in advance and any help would be great.

The .bar file is just a zip file. It will work any util that allows to read a zip file. If you need to rename the .bar to a zip file, which is OK, but be sure to rename it before upload.

  • Burrito of flash builder design mode is a white screen and does not not all components

Hey guys, for some reason none of my components appear any, when I go to design mode in flash builder burrito, and the screen is white. When I run the app, it works very well and seems very well my only problem is that I don't understand what is happening in "Design Mode". Someone has a similar problem to this, also, I don't get any errors about not being not able to load the design view just a pop-up that says that it takes a while to load and to continue or not. The only time I see a component is when I go to the source and highlight a component then go into design mode, then u see a blue outline of the component. You can see in my screenshot above. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

    Thanks again,

    Brian

Design mode does not work if you include qnx libraries in the path of the libraries due to a bug in FB, there is a flag to uncheck (qnx libraries) in the project to BBT properties

    Hi, I need help here...

My flash builder 4.6 has this little nice feature where it will automatically highlight all the variable/function of the same name when you click on it, and there will be a small indication of the place of the variable/function highlighted on the side.

This is what currently my adobe flash builder look like

I think that it is helping solve your problem)

  • How confirm BB10 Air SDK was installed in flash builder 4.6

I just downloaded and installed what I think is the BB10 'or' Air SDK from here

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/air/download/

When I create a new mobile project with flash builder 4.6, the default descriptor bar is the same as the playbook we.

for example, this commented out line:

I was wondering if I failed somewhere along the way and always use the Tablet SDK or if it looks just like that

    -edit-

also, I need new signature for BB10 keys or can I use everything that exists from a previous installation of the playbook.

Guess which has not been updated. New BB10 method is:

    Assets/Splash.jpg

Each image in the list is of a size to use for the device in landscape and portrait. It will automatically detect and use the correct start depending on the size of the device screen.

Same key signature as with the PlayBook.
