Change fonts in windows mail only.

I recently had to reinstall Vista Home premium and reset all the fonts etc. Size and style of text is now good at everything except the windows Messaging. The text 'Windows Mail Inbox' at the top is good, but all other texts, including the record labels etc is too fat and looks blurry to my aged eyes. All the drop down menus in the mail are the same but if I get in Windows and supported aid to appear its fine. Is it possible to get the text in mail to look like all the other texts.

Hi Robnll,

3. click on Customize colors under appearance and personalization.

4. click on Open classic appearance properties more link color options.

5. click on the Advanced button.

6. click on the drop down arrow under the item.

7. Select the icon option in the menu drop down.

8. you have the options to choose the font size and the type of policy you want.

Try these steps and let us know the result.

  • I tried to change my font in Windows Mail, but it keeps coming back to default.

I made many attempts to change the font in my Windows Mail settings.  I followed the instructions to set the HTML format for all outgoing emails with the same Format of sending Mail.  When I select new Message to start a new message, the font that I changed to appears in the area of police; However, when I go in the body of the email and start typing, the type of police costs to that used before that I made the change.  Why this is happening and what setting should I address to the font that I want to stay in the body of the email when I start typing?

original title: WINDOWS MAIL - CHANGE FONT type

There is a problem with IE9 introduced (which is installed by Windows Update) which prevents her specifying the correct default font of WinMail.  If you installed IE9, then set the font in Internet Explorer (Tools |) Internet Options | Fonts) to what you want it to be in Winmail opener (which is also defined in Winmail under Tools |) Options | Read | Fonts).  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15 I'm not sure that's your problem, however.

If it's a question of deal then, it may be something other than a question of IE9.  A few items of stationery can dictate to the police for the entire body of the message, so make sure that when you call that you compose with no stationery.  In addition, there are a few inherent bugs in the editor of text which have been inherited from OE, then you could try to use CTRL-space after clicking in the space and before you type and see if the font is changed to the one you specified under Tools | Options | Dial.

  • Change of the Windows Mail spelling checker dictionaries

Your settings via the Control Panel won't make any difference because...
Windows Mail can't check spelling in Australia English.Windows Mail has only 4 language correcting spelling, English, French, German and Spanish.
Suggest that you 'upgrade' to Windows Live Mail, which have 26 languages spellcheck, which is English (Australia).

  • Small fonts in Windows Mail

I use Windows Mail on a Vista system. My email is set to the Times Roman font size 10, but the police are really small when it is read by the recipients. How should I do?

If the email shows you in your sent items folder, then there is either a problem on the end of the recipient, or even something modifies the message after it leaves the Outbox.  Make sure that you don' t have put antivirus software to analyze mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 a big problem with WinMail.

Also, check by copying the messages about yourself and see if messages differently from what is in the sent items folder.  In addition, when a recipient replies, the message has the correct font, if they quote your message?  You can also try to send in plain text instead of HTML and see if that makes a difference.

  • Emails from Windows Mail (only those!) incorrect impression

It is on behalf of my mother, who I'm helping remote...

She just bought and installed an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless all-in-one all in one printer to use with his laptop, running Windows Vista. Apparently everything is going well, except that she is unable to print correctly, emails from Windows Mail.   What emerges from the printer is about the left third of the email, printed on the right third of the paper.  It's so weird, I downloaded an analysis of the example of it at:http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/3729/emailscan.jpg

I have consulted the laptop remotely and checked everything obvious like size settings - not that I see a lot of alter, paper, but does not include what could be wrong.  It's only the emails that are affected, and there are two weeks that they were very good impression on his printer previous (one another, but very old, Officejet).

    Any ideas please?

    Thank you

Windows Mail uses the same as Internet Explorer print engine. It seems that the left margin is way.

In IE: File | Page layout. Default is 0.75, (19mm), all around.

  • Change password in Windows Mail

I had to change my password in Xtra Yahoo mail because of their problems scamming.  Now I need to change my Windows Mail password but can not find the place to go.  Windows 8 made things simple like this so difficult.  No "all programs" button to find something quickly - I gave up!  Help please.

    Hello Minnie Mouse_976,

Is the Yahoo Xtra account set in the Mail application as a Yahoo account? If Yes, just open the Mail application, and then open the charms of the right side of the screen, select settings, select accounts, select your Yahoo account, scroll down and select delete account, delete Yahoo account. Return to the accounts screen, tap Add account, add your account Yahoo, back with the new password.

  • When you create a new message in Windows Mail only some contact appear just by typing the first few letters of their name

Original title: Windows mail contact probrem

When you create a new email, why some of my E-mail contacts appear with just by typing the first letters of his name while other contacts in my list do not appear?

for example, if I send an email to alan, so when I type the letter 'a' all contacts beginning with 'a' used to appear and you can select whatever you want. This is not the case now, and I have checked the contacts that do not appear are saved the same way as those that appear.

    Any suggestions please

  • How to permanantly change default font when composing in windows mail

I want to permanantly change the default font from Arial to Times New Roman. I can't find instructions on how to do it. I know how to compose a single message, but I want to change it permanantly. Is it still possible?

Keep in the default font of mind changes in Windows Mail only will be not honored if you have installed IE 9.  You would have to do the default font in IE TNR for it to stick.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15 if you do not have IE 9 installed, then you can go to tools | Options | Read | Fonts and the font of reading by default there set.

  • Windows mail suddenly strange behavior in Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

Windows mail attachment installation behaves is no longer as he did before some 25 windows updates 14/04/2011.

When I receive today a mail with an attachment list of the mails in the Inbox screen poster that an attachment is present however when you click on the specific email mail don't watch not only itb has an attachment also unless there was possible to miss the fact that it is there

If one clicks on the indicator of attachment in the box to list then a message asking you if you want to open the attachment.

One wonders if MS has changed the way Windows Mail works on Vista or upgrades she included it or is it corrupted in some form.

Tried the usual things to stop anti virus etc and the removal of updates, but this made no difference. At this point reluctant to do a restore to pre 14/04/2011.

This is due to a series of bugs introduced by IE 9.  If you uninstall IE9, you'll see that the problems go away.  It is unlikely that there will be a fix, like those of Microsoft aren't replying to MVPs who contacted them on this matter.  You can also work around the problem by opening the message in a separate window.  See this thread for more information: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-networking/windows-mail-font-problems-after-installing-ie9/a4274c96-d44f-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

  • Windows Mail - the scrolling is jerky (slow delay) when electronic reading

This problem seems to have slipped on me, an update of the system is perhaps the cause, but I can't identify any changes that might have caused the it.

The problem is that in Windows Mail. When you read a mail, scroll upwards or downwards by undergoes post half a 1 second delay between the action of scrolling and scrolling of the message. By scrolling action, I mean using the previous page or next page, by clicking on the scroll bar or by using the mouse wheel - all of these actions are exactly the same jerky scrolling.

I almost emptied all my messages while I just in my Inbox, all the other folder is deleted after the export of messages. My contacts have also been reduced to 22. I have compacted the database on a stop of messaging. None of this has made all the difference.

I'm out of ideas because it is not possible to reintall Windows Mail only. Strange that I can't find anything in the forum. Do you want?

Try to compact and repair the database.

A second thing to try is to remove the account completely, restart and add it again.

While you're there, check the malware.

Download the free version of this tool. First check the updates and then run a full scan.

  • Having trouble setting up Windows Mail (Vista)

I opened a new gmail account and tried to use Windows Mail to send/retrieve messages instead of you connect on a browser all the time.  Before the change, I used Windows mail to my Shaw account (a local Canadian internet provider).

I have still two addresses on Windows Mail and they worked very well last night.  This morning, Windows Mail prompts for a name of user and password for shawmail.  I put them, he fails to send/receive messages and then claim again the entry.

    Gmail or shawmail works now.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

Remove the account from Shaw and reboot. The Gmail account is working now? If so, try adding the account of Shaw and see if it works.

  • Windows mail on Ipad and laptop?

You wonder how to have windows mail on both without causig a problem.  Wanting all emails lights both.

Also having problems when starting a new email and start to type the email address it will not end the email address for me unless I sent to her last day... It's always like that?

    Thank you

Not familiar with the Ipad, but I think that you have access to your
email account somehow, but not with Windows Mail.
Can I use my iPod to access my email accounts.  If your account using POP3,
You may need to configure all e-mail programs to leave messages on the
After the download server, to allow time for other e-mail programs to download
    messages.

Windows Mail only "remembers" the last 29 addresses you typed in.
These are stored in the registry.
The AutoComplete feature only looks like this list, not your stored
    contacts.
