Change missing fonts in several CS4 files

I use InDesign CS4 and I have several dozen files that are missing from the fonts due to move from Mac to Windows. I have about 20 documents open, so there are 20 "Missing fonts" dialog boxes open. If I want to replace the missing fonts, which are roughly the same in all documents, is there a way to replace all s "Arial Black" missing at once instead of having to replace each cast of each document one at a time?

I hope that makes sense?

Thank you

Lloyd

I do not remember that if you can do this in CS4 or not - I think that you can not - but I just did something similar in CS6:

(1) I opened all 10 docs

(2) I open the Find/Replace window

(3) I did a search of formatting, for [future] which is in brackets because I have not installed

(4) I set the formatting to replace to Myriad Pro that I installed

(5) I put the scope to all Documents

(6) I hit the button change

(7) I used the combination of keys Ctrl-Shift-S for "save all open Documents.

    Here is an old workaround that might do the trick. Add a transparent element to your PDF and then use for your vector fonts flattening preview, every once in a blue moon that works, even if the required fonts are not on your system (I think). In Acrobat, go to Document > watermark > add > text (hit the SPACEBAR) to 99% opacity, this will add a transparent invisible watermark. Go to Advanced > printing > Flattener Preview > vectorize all the text > Apply. If you see a message that the fonts should be post incorporated, read Peter # 1 once more and print out the PDF to an image, this option may be under Advanced options in your print dialog box. Not ideal, difficulty, but might suit your needs.

  • How can I change the font in several capacities, at the same time?

    Hey guys, quick question. I have a bunch of titles and of lower thirds in my project and my producer decided that he did not like the police that we used previously and wants to change to a new one. It seems to do quite often. Is there a way to "globally" to change the font of several title cards at the same time instead of clicking on each of them separately and do it manually for each of them? And if there is no way to do that does anyone have any ideas on how to make it easier?

  • Missing fonts in InDesign packed file

    Hi, I am looking to get an indesign file off the coast of a trainee Designer in another office. He conditioned, but there are still mssing fonts, and most of the text is highlighted in pink. I will paste the following text file, so you can see that some fonts are missing. I activated all the files in the fonts folder, but it is looking for Helvetica Neue T1 in 4 different weights (slim 35, 45 Light, Roman 55, 75 "BOLD"), none of them are in the folder fonts. My apologies if I'm being dumb and missed something obvious.

    I'm on a mac using CS5 on a single computer and CS6 on another, he works with or. I think they are on a mac, as far as I know.

    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help or give advice, don't want to replace all of the fonts on this huge file, much appreicated, Dara

  • How do you change the font in several text boxes?

    I just started using illustrator and I can't understand it.  Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

    I made a bunch of text boxes using the text tool.  Is there a way I can link the boxes and easily change the font?

    Thank you

    Justin

    No need to link them. Select all, and then change the font.

    As with any other object, many text objects can be selected by shift-click or drag with the rectangle Selection tool. If you make a habit of placing all the text on a dedicated layer, you can lock the other layers and just select all (Cmd + A Mac / Win Ctrl + A).

  • Is there a rule of master or clause that would allow me to change the fonts on several pages?

    I use InDesign CS4.

    I wish I could create a header on a master who would control the police and the font size on each header on each page.

    On each page, the text is different, so it cannot be labeled...

    The titles on each page have a different font than the police in the body of the book.

    Creates a master in the best way, or creates a type of paragraph or paragraph NET the way forward?

    In my view, there must be a way to get there - so if the police needs to be changed, it can be changed from a master or a rule, do not have to go to each page...

    Thanks for your help, Lou

    What have I done?

    I'm not sure.

    What should I do?

    If you still don't have it sorted, here are some steps to follow, with a few from assumptions of information contained in the thread so far:

    1. Go to the Master Page and set up your header text block. Type a line of text in there, even if it's just "Header goes here" or something like that.
    2. To format the text as you like all your headers look; font, size, etc..
    3. With the text now selected, go in the paragraph Styles Panel, (if you do not see, choose window > Styles > Styles section or press Ctrl + F11) and choose new paragraph Style in the Panel menu, (click on the menu icon in the upper right panel to access the Panel menu). This will open the dialog box paragraph Style, pre-filled with the parameters according to your text selection. Give it a name like "Header on the left," putting a tick to apply a Style to the selection, and then click OK.
      1. If you need a style of right of the header for the Master Page next, there are a few ways to get it. In here is one: in the paragraph Styles Panel, right-click on the style of right of the header, and choose duplicate Style... to make a copy of it. Now, right-click on the new copy and choose Edit right header copy... Change its name to the left of the header, make any other changes you want for the style settings, (mainly the withdrawal and spacing > alignment, I think), and then click OK.
      2. Now, you can also duplicate the text block, you made in step 1 by copy/paste or Alt-make slide to the next page. Place it where you want and apply the style to the left header.
  • Change the fonts in the 3000 files (CS3)

    An option of the lot would be nice, but since I'm still on CS3 (WIndows XP), maybe a script can be used?

    I would need to open the file, select all text, change them to Swiss721, then save.

    Repeat or all files in a directory...

    Any suggestions or advice is useful.  Thank you.

    Hello

    You could test this, but it is no guarantee, because I quickly updated my script personally for this kind of project for you (but is works on already open doc and MAC OS X)

    I hope this can help you

    fileRef = File.openDialog ("Select one or more Illustrator files.", "* .ai", true);
    } catch (error) {}

    }
    for (i = 0; i<>
    If (fileRef [i] instanceof File) {}
    Open (FileRef [i]);

    var sourceDoc = app.activeDocument;
    for (i = 0; i< sourcedoc.textframes.length;="" i++="" )="">
    try {}
    sourceDoc.textFrames [i].textRange.characterAttributes.textFont = textFonts.getByName ("Swiss 721");
    } catch (e) {alert (sourceDoc.name + "Error:" + e) ;}}
    }

    sourceDoc.close ();

    Use the Acrobat Pro preflight!

    To incorporate the missing fonts in Acrobat Preflight profile will incorporate the missing fonts in your PDF file assuming that:

    (1) the fonts in question are installed on your system and

    (2) the police themselves is not protected against the incorporation (they can at least see and print incorporation.

    Hello Manu,

    You can use only no. 2 [FontStatus.notAvailable 1718832705].

    Because points 5 is a rare case. If the application unable to identify the status of the police then only he presented as 'UNKNOWN '.

    For a list of missing fonts, you can use only the 2 bridge.

  • Missing fonts on the creation of PDF files, search a font not giving a 'Change' option

    I have a page layout InDesign (urgent work for the necessary client print job later today... of course), which consists of a mix of PDF individual (place) and images, etc.

    When I try and print or output to a PDF file, I get an error about missing fonts.  I will search for a police and shows the connection of 14 missing fonts, it does NOT give me the option to "change everything, or change/find," as they are grey.

    How this can be solved?  I need my output

  • Colors of the missing fonts in the files linked (cs4)

    So I an indesign document with a linked bouquet HAVE files that all have the same fonts in the same colors (white and yellow light) on the same color background.

    earlier this week I printed without problem. Since then, I've added a few notes here and there and I printed again, and now most of the white text does not appear in print, some emissions upward barely, and some looks carved in relief in the background color. the purple printed yellow text. If I saw the text it prints very well.

    the text which weent evil, I has not changed since before when she printed correctly. my colleague had also printed a copy of a pdf file that I've done in indesign with the same results.

    can anyone help?

    It's about indesign cs4 with bound AI cs4 files in mac os x lion.

    If the yellow text printed purple then maybe the yellow text has been set to overprint.

    In the same way-, it seems that the text for the White has been set to overprint.

  • I discovered that I have several missing fonts

    Hello. Can someone help me, please? I have Windows 7 and Office 2007. I discovered that I have several missing fonts - they disappeared without warning. In particular, Miss me San Gil I use often and Helvetica. I reinstalled W7 and Office, but the problem persists. It's extremely frustrating. Can Microsoft, you please help and provide some sort of file that I can download and reinstall my missing fonts? Anyone else with ideas?

    Thank you

    It has nothing to do with Windows 7, not to mention the police. Windows does not remove fonts that already exist (unless you let the format to install the player, but then you go to reinstall all your applications in any case), or only prevents future installation of all the fonts from another source.

    I don't know why you couldn't get Gill from Office 2007. There are several different editions of Office 2007, and the webpage, I quoted said that fonts comes with Office 2007 Premium and simply "Office 2007" which I guess means Office 2007 Standard. Maybe if you have an other editions, such as home & student, the police is not included, but I do not have these editions to check out them. Copy the files from the old computer fonts work always, however.

    In Firefox 3.6 and later Windows, you can hide the menu bar on "view > toolbars" or via the contextual right click menu on a toolbar.
    Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key to bring up the menu bar temporarily.
    Go to "view > toolbars", right click on the menu bar, or press Alt + V T to select to show or hide toolbars (click on an entry to switch from the State).
