  • Use scripts to change the name of the tab

    Hi all

    I'm trying to use scripts to add tabs to a tab control in an existing VI.  I am able to add new tabs easily enough, but I can't understand how to change the name of each tab when they are added.  Each name is extracted a TDMS file using a loop for.

    I looked through the existing discussion forums, and there are a few old messages that indicate I should look for the 'independent Label property', and that I should put it to allow me to change the caption of the tab.  There is always an explanation of this property in the help files, but I am unable to find my path to it in the current schema.

    Assuming that this property still exists in my version (2012), could someone tell me the correct sequence of references and property nodes to access this property?  Right now I use the class "TabControl".  If this property is obsolete, can someone let me know if there is a new method to achieve this?  Thank you.

    After you have added the page, download the Pages property of the index of the newly added page, tab control, use the PageLabel of this page for the label.  It would be cool if the Add Page method returns the reference to the new page.

  • problem with changing the order of tab on tab control

    Hello

    I am aware that the same question has been asked over three years - but I can't yet find the problem in what I'm doing...

    Description: I have two controls tab, A tab with three tab and tab B with two controls on a Panel. For the following discussion, tab B is of no interest. Each tab control has several numerical indicators, of type integer and double. Now, I want to add a fourth tab control to A tab. This method works.

    Following and problematic stage, in the Publisher of the IUR I select the new tab (most right) and move two positions to the left. It's still ok until I try to display a numeric value of order of tab 3 (the new tab control is left to it). I get an error in calls to SetCtrlAttribute, complain about an invalid control ID... However, I didn't touch any control over the tabs, or add a new control. In addition, I did not touch the generated include file... Visual inspection did not show any changes in the include file (the new tab control is listed only when certain controls are added)

    Posting numbers on the first/far left tab control work only on 3 and 4 which are suitable for the new (and still empty) new tab will generate this error. Adding a control to the new label does not change the bahavior.

    Help is appreciated!

    Wolfgang

    Wolfgang,

    When you get the handle for your tab using GetPanelHandleFromTabPage:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 0, & TabHandle);

    the third parameter is an index for the specific tab you want to address.  If you change the order of the tabs, you can change the index, too.  For example, assume that you have a digital control on the third tab from left to right.  You want to assign some value, so this, you:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 2, & TabHandle);

    SetCtrlVal (TabHandle, TAB_numMyNumeric, 1);

    Now, you add a new tab to the left of the tab with the digital contorl.  The new tab is now index 2 and the original tab is index 3.  When you call:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_TAB, 2, & TabHandle);

    you get the handle to the new tab.  There is a control with the same ID as TAB_numMyNumeric, so that you get a runtime error.

    Personally, I like to use an enumeration to my tabs so I can keep the lines:

    enum {MY_FIRST_TAB, MY_SECOND_TAB, MY_THIRD_TAB,...};

    So if I redesign the tabs or add a new one I just re - order enums and everything works fine.  Also, I used the same names in my constants of tab, to help keep things straight:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (MainPanelHandle, PANEL_FIRST_TAB, MY_FIRST_TAB, & TabHandle);

  • Tab control - lasts a long time to change between tabs

    Hello world

    I use a tab control to display a set of results in each tab. So, I have a tab with three legs and each leg consists of 16 indicators that are updated with the values. Now, when I run the program, it takes a long time to switch between these tabs. For example, if I am currently at Page 1 and then I click on Page 2, it takes about 5 seconds to change the tab. I know this must be like that, but I don't understand what is happening.

    I need help, please. I know it's a silly question, but I can't make heads or tails of it!

    Thank you!

    It takes me about one second for the tabs to switch when it is in edit mode.

    But I notice that you have grouped with other elements tab control.  Any reason?

    When I separated from this group so that the tab control was its own entity, between tabs was much faster.

  • Change of color of the page in a tab control programmatically

    AFAIK, you can manually change the colors of the individual pages in a tab control (if you have the property allow several colors set to True), but you can't do it programmatically.

    For my particular application, there is only a single page color, I need to change, so I can get the effect by setting the colors I want manually and activating / deactivating allow multiple colors on the control tab as needed, but I wonder if there is a better solution out there.

    Thank you

    Kyle

    Of course, you can:

    Not sure if you try to change the background or foreground color.

  • Change the text of each tab of a tab control

    I would change the text/display of the individual of a tab control tab label when the software is running.

    Is this possible? Or, is it a good idea for OR add an attribute of "legend of the tab" tab control, so it can be done easily?

    Thank you.

    Yes, you can change the label of a tab programmatically.

  • Front page of tabs controls panel change

    Hello

    I am trying to create a Labview graphical user interface to control a motor. I use a control tab in which at page 1, it's all about the engine and control on page 2 for the motor controller configuration. I wanted to do the work of GUI in the way that when I click on page 2 of the tab control to set up the motor controller, the motor will stop itself. To implement this, clicking on page 2 must change something, or produce a number, just like the ok"" button.

    Anyone have any idea how to implement it? I could have used a separate button to stop the engine, but I'm doing a more friendly GUI.

    Just use an event for the tab control in a structure of the event.

    You can change the name of the computer:

    Control Panel > display icon > System > Advanced system settings >

    NOTE:

    Generally, for home use, do not change the name of the Working Group.

    You cannot change the name of the built-in account"Administrator".

    To create an administrator account on the computer (in C:\Users\) home folder is named how you like - and still use your connection to Microsoft:

    • Create a LOCAL account on the computer

  • The table of waveform in the tab control

    Hello

    I would change the parcel number and the name of a waveform graph plotting in a tab control.

    First of all, it works fine without a tab control, but I have several cards (such as temperature, pressure, tension...) while I put every chart in the pages of a tab control.

    1077 error happened when I "add" the parcel number and change the name of the parcel.

    Here is a sample I did to describe this problem.

    Start, if the number is 20, there are 20 plots in this table on page 2.

    t

    Do not operate the switch, replace C 3, N-18 and run that and it can be seen that the tab control will pass to page 1.

    Switch to page 2 and field names are updated, but left a relic.

    Add N 22, replace C 2, and then run it again.

    Error 1077 has arrived! Go to page 2 and the parcel number is always 20, and field names are updated at 20.

    Run it again and it works fine!

    It is very difficult for me.

    If I spend first on page 2 and run the program, it works very well also.

    (In other words, if the switch is active, then the program works very well.)

    The version of LabVIEW mine is 2011.

    I don't know I missed or misunderstanded something about this problem.

    Is someone can give me any suggestions? Thank you very much

    Step 1: Do not use tabs, use sub-panels. You can get the same user experience, but with a much simpler code.

  • Program switching a page on the tab control

    Hello

    I use LV8.6 and I have a menu drop-down selector to choose what unit I want to test.  This allows the page that controls the unit and disables others.  What I want to do is when the unit is selected, the page is enabled (which I did) and the page to be selected and view.  Does anyone know how this is done?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Simply change the value of the tab control. Send 3 and it'll show the 3rd page. If you create a constant, that it works as an Enum and will display the names of page as options.

  • Change the names of user account on an old Dell laptop

    Original title: USER PROFILE

    I JUST BOUGHT A SECOND HAND DELL INSPIRON 1300, I WANT TO CHANGE THE NAME OF THE USER PROFILE. IN THE PANEL OF CONTROL SYSTEMS AND ADVANCED THERE IS ANOTHER CHANGE OF NAME ALONG THE COAST MINE CAN YOU THIS XP TO HELP THANK YOU

    You can change usernames, but you cannot change the profile names.

    If you want a new profile name, the best method is to create a new user with the desired name.  After that, you can copy the data to another profile to the new user name or simply delete the other profiles.  If you want to copy the data, simply pretend that the existing account is corrupt and follow the steps in the following article:

    "How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555473 >

    You can delete the old user profiles by removing the users in Control Panel users or go to:
    Right click on "My Computer"-> properties-> Advanced (tab)-> settings (in the user profile section)

  • Is it possible to add a LED indicator for tabs in a tab control

    I have a tab with multiple rows of tabs control. I would like to know if there is a way I could add indicators LED round to each of the tabs so I can quickly see the status of each page.  If I have only one line, I can simply afford for my LEDs 'hover' over the tab, but it works not if there are several lines from the tabs change site when they are selected.  Does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks in advance!

    I decided to take some time (probably too much time!) to try this and prove it would work.  See the attachment in BT 8.5.1.

    I used tables and control references to make the code more scalable as possible.  I've added several spaces at the end of each name so that there was some leeway to place a very small LED.

    The trickiest part (and I would put this up until the tabs are named, plotted, and the tab control is sized) is to find the location coordinates and best screen for each LED.

    I discovered for best looks, the LED must jump upward and to the left by 2 pixels when a specific tab is selected, like the text label only.  Otherwise the jump just LED around on the screen according to whatever the rank its respective tab is on.

    I have the event timeout randomly turn on/off the LEDS, but which would be handled by your other code and whatever events determine if the LED must be enabled or disabled.
