  • Battery recharges each time connect to the PC

You just bought the clip over and noticed whenever I connect it via USB to my PC to download files, etc, stack of the clip starts automatically reloaded. The duration of the regular cycles of charging battery will not affect my battery life?  I guess there is no way to just connect the clamp to the PC without having time to recharge battery at the same time?

The processor in the Sansa automatically manages battery.  The battery is a lithium-polymer and is quite happy being systematically "topped up" when it is connected to the power, just like a car battery.

The nickel-cadmium battery of the past is probably the most familiar to most users.  These batteries would develop a "memory" at least that systematically rejected.  The new battery like supported, and it is better to load when it is plugged.

You cannot overload the Sansa battery; in fact, the loading process is actually disabled by the processor once done, rather than "trickle charge".

  • Why do I get the message asking me to allow Firefox to make changes to my computer whenever I click on the Firefox icon?

When I click on the Firefox icon on my desktop, instead of struggling just to the Firefox page, I get a box asking me if it's good for Firefox to make changes to my computer. If I hit Yes, I get the Firefox page. If I don't hit, I get nothing. What is the reason for this?

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

    • Privilege level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    • "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" must not be selected

Also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

  • switch power automatically when you change or battery power management

in windows xp, he was smart enough to understand that when I was on the battery, it should run in powersaver and when I plugged in, it should work on high performance.

I don't see a setting to make windows 7 this and must ensure that I click on power options and select the schema each time.

This is made more annoying because the quick menu shows only balanced + powersaver or balanced + high performance. so I have to click 3 or 4 times just to change the power mode.

frustrating that it does not by itself when she used to. I do not understand why common sense as this functionality has been removed. also limiting the CPU doesn't seem to work at all, as it shows 1.6 ghz instead of 800 mhz when the powersaver, and this feature worked fine in windows XP.

If these two things have been fixed, I find windows 7 usable.

  • Why my computer date and time keep changing to 01/01/2003

I change the date and time of my lap top, according to the laptop for a while and turn on the date and time continue to change to 01/01/2003. I have not so much time to change, but... his problem keeps up to date of the.

Looks like your laptop CMOS battery needs to be replaced.  It is not the same battery that powers your laptop.  It is usually a battery of lithium-manganese dioxide of small coin shaped that resemble the shows big battery.  You should consult your instructions of the manufacturer on how to access and what type of battery is needed to replace it.

A simple call to your computer manufacturer should provide all the necessary information.

  • Satellite L645 - power & battery led keep flashing

My L645 can be on using the battery alone & does ' t give no flashing led it but if I connect to the seizure of power give me power & battery flashes like 1 second by blink and if I unplug the battery and trying on the use of AC power only my laptop suddenly turn off when this blinking occur.

What happens with my L645 Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance... (by the way my L645 Windows 7 Home Premium)

    Hello

The power led blinks means there is a problem with the power supply.
I m not very well, but maybe your power adapter is not OK.
I think that the laptop should be checked using the new adapter.

But of course if could also be a problem of electronic power supply on the motherboard. In this case the new AC adapter not help, but in this case to replace the motherboard.

    Hi @Vishalwagh123,

Welcome to HP's Forums a great way to get help. It's a great place to find answers and advice! Thanks for the post.

I understand you have questions turn on/off the device and you must press the power button several times for him to start. I'll be happy to help you.

Please try these steps first. Perform a hard reset.

    • Steps to do:
    • Turn off the computer and unplug the charger. Then remove the battery.
    • Press and hold the power button on the unit for 15 seconds to carry out the static electrical charges inside the machine.
    • Replace the battery and the charger plug it back. Try to turn on the computer.

If it fires up immediately the issue is resolved. Otherwise, try to turn on the computer without the battery and check that it works immediately.

In your message, you said that it works very well with the charger. However, I need more clarity here to help you better.

It works immediately when the adapter is connected and the power button is pushed only once?

If you again press the power button several times, it may be a faulty power button, and you will need to contact the hotline at the service of the unit.

Let me know what happens when you try to turn on the unit without the charger?

  • My date and time keeps going back to an earlier date and makes dificult to start. my computer.

My current date and time keeps coming back at a date and time that is earlier and I have to stop and restart several times.

According to my experience, this could probably be 1 of 2 things...

The first thing that could cause this problem is an infection.  Have you had a chance to run an antivirus program to scan your system for infections?  You currently have no antivirus installed software / protect your system?

The second thing it could be is a dying CMOS battery.  If you are using a desktop computer, change the battery should be a quick troubleshooting step to see if this solves the problem... If you use a laptop computer, he might need time to disassemble the laptop and replace the battery.

  • HP 8600 by USING WINDOWS XP PRO - HOW to REMOVE ADMIN BLOCKS ON the CHANGE SETTINGS of DATE and TIME.

MOST OF MY SETTINGS IS "LOCKED". DO NOT KNOW WHY. HOW CAN I REMOVE THE LOCKS TO ZERO HOUR, DATE, ETC?

Locking the settings would be monitored through the EWS (built-in web server) to the printer.  The lockout is really designed for printers Officejet to prevent others to perform printer changes that could affect the behavior of the printer.  For example, to keep the date and time the Fax value see him exactly receive time.

Get the IP address of the printer by pressing the network icon at the top of the screen.

Enter this IP address into the address bar of a web browser on a computer.  Printer status page should load.  If you receive warnings of certificate, choose the option that allows you to continue anyway.

Click settings and then go into settings of the administrator on the left.  Many of the features of the façade are ordered here.  Make sure everything is checked except control lock.  Once it is defined, click on apply.

Power off the printer for at least 1 minute and power then turn it on again to force the new setting to take effect.

You can also try to set the date and time under preferences on the left of the settings page, but it seems that the problem of locking is more widespread than the date and the hour.

The Admin settings page should look like this screenshot when it is set up the way it should be.

  • Satellite A500 does not show 'time remaining' for the battery

I just bought Satellite A500 with Windows 7 and I noticed one thing, it is that there is no "remaining time" for the battery?

My former use A100 to display the time remaining on the power but not Windows 7, all I get is a remaining percentage... makes it go for all of the A500 running windows 7 or is - it something wrong with my new computer?

I guess that the Win 7 drivers should be released in the near future, it seems that Toshiba is driver downloading
Then maybe after the driver version complete you will get this battery notification allows you to see how it will work

  • HP Envy 17 t battery problem (2nd time to post this problem)

had some problems with my laptop battery. I had to replace the power supply just now because the small plug on the end of the laptop broke. I replaced it with a compatible, but slightly higher output, auto control replacement for HP charger. Shortly after replacing the battery stopped charging when the computer was in. I could charge the battery when the computer was turned off and run at full performance when no battery has been implemented. With the battery, I ran the Diagnosticc f2 twice, once plugged and unplugged once.

    The results:

[connected] = diagnosis finished: battery has failed, replace error codea huge string of numbers and letters

[unplugged]] = diagnosis finished: battery calibration required [long error code injection] different error code

I progressed to the calibration, which required the laptop to be plugged and after running for about 15 minutes, the calibration has failed and said a "software ERROR code: [string]" and refused to calibrate it.

I replaced the battery once at the own expense because appearently my warranty (not expired) and even face the charge cord, not cover replicated the issure, which I was unable to find by anyone else in the forums. The battery error has occurred for two batteries.

So I need to know a few things:

    (1) is it a hardware problem or software?

    (2) is it repairable?

    (3) why is this happening?

    (4) is any repair covered by my warranty (standard)?

    Hey Admiral_B,

Electricity does not exactly that way. Devices don't just "take what they need." The power through the entire notebook not only the battery. The adapter provides power to the laptop directly, it does not first through the battery, the battery is an endpoint like other material.

Lower voltage is safer but can cause performance problems. Higher voltage can damage the equipment.

Think of electricity like water: the voltage is equivalent to the pressure. Amperage of the total volume, or the amount of electricity used. Watts are the speed at which electricity flows.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm an electrician. I understand that electricity is quite complicated, but if you wish you can read more about this here: understanding electric reading-Watts, amps, Volts and Ohms.

Basically, what it boils down to is your laptop and work to ensure that we cover all the bases that we need to use an adapter that is designed for your laptop. The adapter AC - c23 has support for many laptops, but the ENVY 17 t isn't one of them.

You have already replaced the battery and the problem started after the change of the adapter. I would think the process of deductive reasoning tells us that the adapter is the question, or the motherboard. If the motherboard is the problem, it is possible that the question is a coincidence for the moment with the adapter has been replaced, but is more likely to result from the use of a higher output adapter.
