  It is an option in the drop-down Panel. Uncheck the 'Add a mask by default'. No mask unless you have a selection active.

Given that bb10app.bar seems to be a default file for any application name.

  Yes, you can change the file name of the file BAR, just keep the .bar extension and you shouldn't have any problems.

  You should be able to change it without any impact. In her change CM. the WAE you want to change. In activation select left pane and change the name to what you want it to be and click on submit.
