• Change the default home screen

  So here's my problem. I did an update, everything at the time and since this update after I connect to my laptop, the screen that appears is the desktop screen as the old style.   I already know the tweak registry and sizes of jpg Windows\System32\oobe\\info\backgrounds and others, and I need to know where to download a free utility that does this for me.  I can do (and have) myself, but that's not what I want to do now.

  I want to know is where Windows 7 saves the background image used as the default logon screen and the name of the image file.  It's not the Windows\System32\oobe\background.bmp.  I changed that one, but that does not change the default logon background image.  If it's an image file that has a name, I can change if I can find it.

  I found an app open source that runs as a standalone (it doesn't have to be installed) and will change the logon screen wallpaper.  The link is here:

• Difficult to change default logon screensaver

  I created a custom for Windows Vista Business SP2 screen saver.  I want to put my screensaver to default logon to be my new custom screensaver.  So I did some research and discovered that by changing the registry key hkeyuser\.default\control panel\desktop\SCREENSAVE. EXE to the path of my screensaver folder Vista uses instead of the Windows Vista logon.scr.  for some reason when vista goes to screen saver the screen goes black.  I checked that the custom screensaver works for any user who is logged.  However, it goes to black when nobody connects.

  to do a little more troubleshooting I changed the screen saver to the windows Vista default (Ribbons.scr).  and I get this message:

  Direct3D 9.0 is required to run this screen saver, but cannot be found.  Please install the latest version of DirectX and re-run the screen saver.

  DirectX is installed.  What I'm missing here?

  Could a right click on the PDF file > open with > choose program by default and select CD player as default PDF Viewer.

  You can do it from the control panel as well.

  This would make CD player as default PDF Viewer.
