Change user, Windows Vista.

When to change Windows Vista user, I get the error view:-

"Your user profile was not loaded correctly. You have been logged on with a temporary profile. changes that you make to this profile will be lost when you log out. Please see the the event log for more information or contact your administrator".

Then sent to the temporary profile. What are the settings must be applied to allow the user changing you to connect directly to their profile that they have already implemented? Thanks Chris.

Hello

·        Since when are you facing this problem?

  • Will it hurt my settings if I change my Windows Vista PC from a computer in working group on a home PC?

I have a Windows Vista Home Premium, I had some problems and had to do a system restore. I put a different name for my computer, I am the administrator. I did have the time to add a user account. Anyway, I wasn't paying that much attention to the WORKING GROUP or the HOUSE of CP. I feel that I can have messed up things, once again! I'm afraid that if I change the name or change the name of my computer and change it to page HOME of CP instead of WORKING GROUP, I have will not have access to Microsoft Internet Explorer? I don't see anything regarding a field in this area. Could someone help me with this, I want to change my WORKING GROUP home of CP.

    Hello

You can change the name of your computer as the computers on a network can be part of a workgroup or a domain. The main difference between the areas and working groups is the management mode of the network resources. Computers on home networks are usually part of a workgroup, and computers on networks to work are usually part of a domain.

  • Change user on Vista cut the Internet connection.

When you turn on vista users (no), IE. Windows key + L, start > change user or Ctrl + Alt + Delete my internet connection drops and I have to reconnect. This happens when I have my LAN cable connected and with my router plugged as well.

Here's a solution that I met (yay google), but I'm not sure how to create a 'value chain' or the one to choose. (see below)

Anyone has any info on this topic or other solutions? Kind of a pain in the _.

At the command prompt, type: regedit

    Registry:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

In this key to find or create a new string value
    KeepRasConnections
    and assign
    1

    Hello

Once you switch user accounts, first open the network diagnostic tool and check what is causing this problem: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems

The steps you mentioned in the post explain how to edit the registry. Please note that modifying the registry incorrectly can cause serious problems on the computer, causing the operating system to malfunction. Before editing the registry, it is recommended that you back up the registry. See this article to backup registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

If you want to run the steps you mentioned, then proceed as follows.
    1. click on start, type regedit and click regedit in the list.
    2. navigate to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
    3. in the left pane, click Winlogon and in the do right pane right click in the empty space and click New-> Dword value, name it as KeepRasConnections, note that the string name is case-sensitive.
    4. double-click on KeepRasConnections and in the text box, type 1 and then click ok.
5 restart the computer for changes to take effect.
    6. check if the internet works fine when you switch user accounts.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • Re: Qosmio F30 - I want to change XP to Vista

    Hello

My Qosmio F30 has Windows XP.
If I change to Windows Vista I need to reformat my hard drive? If this is not the case, what, my documents, whether or not it will be lost?

There are options to upgrade to install Windows Vista without format the whole HARD drive, but it depends on the version of Windows XP and the version of Vista you want.
You can check it out here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-Vista/get/upgrade-your-PC-options.aspx

To be honest I would format the whole HARD drive before installing Vista. A new facility will work faster.
In addition, you must back up your documents and everything you need because the whole HARD drive will be formatted and you will lose everything.

I hope I could help you.

  • nothing happens when I click 'change user '.

    No, cannot always change username.
I want to be able to change user without disconnection.

The keystrokes I made reference are other suggestions to change user: windows logo + L.

    Absolutely nothing happens.
