Changed to a Standard account administrator accounts

From: NDanielle

Hi all

I recently started having the access denied errors to the basic images of MyDocuments/My files.

After some research, I realized that ALL of my account, but who were administrators, have been replaced by Standard accounts, they are still as administrator account to the connection - but in Panel for configuration / accounts they say Standard.

I enabled the system to the command prompt administrator account and I can work from that - however, even in the system administrator account that I can't change users 'standard' back to the administrator.

1. I guess than some grand GOLD corruption that happened

2. a virus you have for me?

I checked the event viewer to see if something happened but cannot decrypt something important was happening.

Issues related to the:

1. what would happen (I've seen many posts where this has happened)-what is the root of this problem.

2. If you disable UAC, which changes all the standard?  That would be silly, but it could be.

3 dang - it sucks - but rock on Vista!

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't need a solution other that how to change things back so I don't have to go spend a ton of files autour.

Thank you very much!

Nicole

It seems to be pretty common that disable UAC and doing other things to make Vista more XP-like can cause some strange problems. I don't know if all admin accounts becoming standard accounts is linked to that.

You said that you cannot change the status of admin for the built-in Administrator account, but you do not specify whether or not you can create another (new) administrator account.

I was also curious whether or not you have used Group on this system policy editor.

I'll try to be helpful, but don't get your hopes up. I'm more curious than

brilliant.

  • Cannot install any program or make any change on my standard account

    Hello

So I recently reinstalled my Windows, the installation was not made by me. This person created one account we'll call user for simplicity, giving him Admin privileges.

When I noticed it, I created another Admin account and demoted user a standard account. But now, when I tried to install any program, I have some sort of error: "unable to write to the file...". ", I also tried to delete a random file/shortcut and got some kind of error saying that the system is allowed to do this.

Is there a way to fix this?

I had rather not my experience of user account with administrative privileges for obvious reason. What I want is just having the system queries the user the Admin password when you install a program, at least, to have access to what is in the directory of the user.

Thank you for reading this and help me

    Hello Nelson.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, you can not install any program or cannot make changes on your system.

An administrator account is a user account which allows you to make changes that will affect other users. Administrators can change security settings, install software and hardware, and access all files on the computer. Administrators can also make changes to other user accounts.

As you have an administrator account on your system. I suggest you follow the steps below and check if it helps:

    1. right click on the Start button and select (Admin) command prompt.

    2. on the command line type: net user administrator / Active: Yes and press enter on your keyboard.

This will allow your construction in the administrator account. Restart your computer and log in with the administrator account. Once you are in the Build in Administrator account, you can change the type of original Standard user to administrator account administrator and save it.

Once you have made the changes successfully, the Build in administrator to disable the account by following the steps below:

    1. right click on the Start button and select (admin) command prompt.

    2. on the command line type: net user administrator / Active: no and press enter on your keyboard.

He returns constantly with the message: unable to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, consult your system administrator

I have read many previous posts on this issue, but it seems that nobody has provided a solution that I can find!

    Hi TeenaWilson,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for the query display. Looks like you are not able to modify the parental control on a standard account.

    Try these steps and check:

    Method 1:

Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result.

See: How can I change the behavior of user account control by using the slider?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

    Method 2:

    Step 1:

I suggest to create a new administrator account and log later in the new administrator account, try to set parental controls and check if it works.

    Create a user account

Want to know how to change the type of user account to an administrator to a standard user. It's pretty simple and I'm here to help you.

I wish that you perform the steps-

    (a) connect you to your administrator account, click on 'Start', type 'User accounts' (without the quotes) and press "Enter."

    (b) now, click on "Change your account type" and then place a "point" next "Standard".

    (c) click on "Apply changes".

Note: Make sure you have at least one additional account on the computer with privileges 'administrator' to prevent problems with user account controls.

  • How can I change the standard account on behalf of Administrator without administrator privileges?

Original title: uac is restricting my access Add or change account

My uac has no opition for Yes just not how to change my standard account to administrator account

and how would I do that I deleted my hidden administrator account and my off my guest account so if I didn't change anything, I have to be an administrator if he allows me to have Yes tab revealed to a click...

When you say that you moved your hidden administrator account, are you talking about the account named "Administrator"? Since it is a built-in account, Windows won't let you remove it.

If you are referring to your own admin account then removing would be to throw out your safe master key. I can't quite work on how you could do that, but you can get it from this reckless action as follows:
    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before you did what you did.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

  • My Standard account cannot change administrative options

Basically, it is that by using my account, I can't change the administrative options due to the fact that I recently changed my account an account that contains administrative control to a standard account (I read that the descriptions and windows told me to change my account to a standard account, so I did) and now I want to change some settings , but now, after you press Yes to the prompt to allow access to change my settings, windows said that I have no right, and that I would need to get into a 'smart card', which I don't know what it is, so any help?

What I mean is that I have disabled the administrator account and I've changed everything else counts for a standard account. However after that I have to search the Web, I found the solution using advanced restart. But thanks for your time to answer the question.

  • How to connect to a standard account with my name and password administrator

I installed Word 2016 for Mac on my Macbk Pro and set the preferences you want under my administrator account.  When I tried to do the same thing under my standard account, which I use most, it seemed that changes had been made, but they didn't - eeven after a reboot.  I thought signing into my standard account as an administrator would get the changes, but don't see how to do it.  Advisor?

Not the case. You can make changes by the admin account. This is the point of the entire configuration of the two accounts.

  • Need to change the name of the administrator under the folder of the user account

I just got a new HP laptop with Windows Vista 64 SP1. My friend who got the laptop I use a nickname that I hate it when he set up the computer for which it was not supposed to do in the first place. I went to the section control panel user accounts control and changed the name of the administrator account. I have only the administrator account on my computer with the guest account. That part worked.

My problem is that, under C:/Users / (username), it still shows that hated nickname. I want to change the name of this folder, but cannot understand how or if it's possible. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

As you have discovered, you cannot change a user account by simply changing the name. That will be a change cosmetic only and none of the files/folders real profile will be changed. Follow the instructions below to fix things to your liking and to implement correctly under Vista user accounts.

    1. create the new user account (named as desired) as a * standard * (not administrator) account and at least one additional account with administrative privileges. Call the extra account 'CompAdmin', 'Tech' or similar.

    2. Enter the new user account once if the profile files are created, and then disconnect and then connect to CompAdmin.

    3. go in Control Panel > system > advanced > user profile > settings

    4. you will see where you can copy user accounts. Copy the misnamed old account to the new name correctly there. Use her browse to select your new account (C:\Users\newaccount). If you don't want to copy all the settings, and then instead simply navigate using the old user, music Explorer Windows Documents, etc. and copy the data to the new user folders.

    5. connect to your new correctly named user account. When you are sure to have what you need, you can delete the misnamed control panel user account > accounts to users if you wish.

General information about configuring users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is an OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. If your normal user account is an administrator, having created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  • I can connect to my administrator Local account, but cannot connect to a newly created Local Standard account. How can I fix?

    Hello
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 bit on my main PC that uses an SSD. Recently, when I was about to create new profiles of user account for my children, I came across a few connection issues on newly created accounts.
Here's a breakdown of what exactly is going on:
    1) turn on the computer. Starts Windows normally, auto-journalisation me on my administrator account. Nothing unusual appears, just the regular, the windows desktop and files.
    (2) I go into my control panel (category view) | Accounts of users and parental control-link under click on "Add or remove user accounts". Click on "create a new account | Entered the name (for this example, I'll call it reverse) | Apply the account type "Standard account" | Click on "create account". Close all open windows. Click Start and then click 'Quit' from the menu
    (3) once I clicked on 'Leave', it says "logging OFF... "or something similar, and I just click on the new icon for the newly created account that I just made. Very quickly, the screen flashes "Welcome" then flashes black and then reloads the blue background with the words "Logging Off". It flashes black once again and brings me to choose one account screen, where I see my newly created account and my administrator account
    (4) I try clicking on the icon of the new account again, the same thing is happening. I'm trying to connect to my administrator account, it works perfectly
    (5) Event Viewer records these specific messages:

    (6) I have already run the "sfc/scannow" command in and out of safe mode. Windows reports that no files have been tampered with
    (7) I don't have any system on this SSD, the restore points
    8) ran an antivirus scan (although this machine is not connected to the internet that often, mostly used to store local applications for local use)
I am open to ANY suggestion and someone has solutions capable of solving this new auto account sign out of the question. I'm afraid that the reload of the operating system on my computer is too expensive (data wise) right now. Its connected to a HARD drive with programs.

Sorry I took so long to come back - but I have a lot on my plate right now.
