  I have Photoshop CS6 Standard already installed on my Mac (OS 10.8). My employer just bought the long version for me and I would like to upgrade. I have a valid serial number to do this.

  I understand that the software is the same, and according to the serial number, can unlock the extended part of the CS6. Y at - there no way of upgrading the installed version to extended by re-Internetworking new serial number or do I just install a second copy of PS CS6 and have 2 PS CS6 (a standard and a scope)?

  Please follow it mentioned below as follows:

  1. Open Photoshop
  2. Choose Help > deactivate
  3. Select Disable permanently in this computer after deactivation completes
  4. Click on disable.
  5. Open Photoshop. You are prompted for a serial number. Enter the extended serial number.

  On the Windows Vista service pack 2 machine.

  I have successfully installed the Photoshop CS6 upgrade on my computer and it is running.  Two days later, I was hit by the virus of moeypack of FBI and had to do a system restore and headed Mallwarebytes to get rid of it.  The system restore point was right before I installed CS6, and after the restoration, CS6 had disappeared.   I tried to reinstall CS6 and now the installation program fails.  I ran Adobe Support Advisor and it sees no problems.   I ran choosing tool cleaner for Adobe creative suite CS6 and it did not help.  Photoshop CS5 is still on my computer and it still works OK.  I'm at a loss what to try next.

  Fixed!  by another post I downloaded and re-installed Adobe Application Manager, he ran and then tried to reinstall CS6 and it loaded and runs.

  When you switch between Mac and Windows your budget must include the purchase of all the software again. Sometimes you are lucky.

  What you download will most likely what you have on your DVD.  CS 6 version 13.0.   This is the buggiest of Photoshop version. So when you install CS6 on top of itself the first thing to do after installation is menu CS6 to use help > updates.  This should update CS 6 Version 13.0 version 13.0.1.3 on windows or 13.0.6 on Mac and ACR must be updated to version 9.1 of the cab. When you install CS6 on top of the old installation of all your actions presets and plug-ins should still be there and CS6 must be activated.
