changing platform - pc to mac

Hi - I do not know when it would be better posted, but this seems the most likely place.

It's time for a new computer.

I use a PC for years - been happy enough with it, but I really hate the appearance of Windows 8 and don't want to buy a new computer to remove the o/s and downgrade it.

I plan to switch to Mac and you want to get some ideas as to whether it would be useful, is that the learning curve and what problems I might face.

I have been using a PC for about 15 years.

I am Member creative cloud. I use mostly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro but also the occasional Dreamweaver. I use Extensis Suitcase to manage my fonts. I also have the opportunity to prepare a document in Word for PC-based clients. I see mainly in English, but I also need occasional Hebrew and I use the Middle East editions of ID, PS and IT.

As far as I know, licensing wise, I can install my software on any platform - correct?

My main concerns are:

(1) will be transitions of file (opening indesign documents, reissue of links etc) be smooth, or I will face couplers?

(2) I have to grief, from the fonts? (I use mostly open Type fonts and True Type, but some of them are quite old)

(3) I'll be able to use the Hebrew on a Mac as easily on my PC (just need to change the language of the keyboard, then the correct settings in ID)

(4) I have problems of migration small sites that I am managing? Dreamweaver seems to refer to the structure of local site and I hope that I can just reset it. As you can see that I do not have a lot of stuff, only tiny under duress!

I also have questions about Word and Excel, but as this is an Adobe Forum I can keep Adobe.

If anyone has comments on the subject if change is worth at all, please share!

Thank you

Ruth

you will probably have a few headaches.

because I felt the same way you win 8, I bought my last computer form microexpress.  They allow you to choose win8 or win7.  the win7 that they installed on my computer is win 7 pro.
