  I'm not sure how it happened, but the arrow buttons on my character at the top of the screen control panel allowing you to increase the size of your font one point at a time are gray. The drop-down list (which allows you to select 6 pt, pt 8, etc.) works very well and the adjustmet of font size in the character window works fine. I think I may be acceidentally locked something down, but for the life of me I can't understand that. This applies to all my documents, old and new.

  No, I think you're going in Edition > Preferences

  What you need to do, is to close indesign, then when you launch it hold CTRL (CMD) ALT SHIFT and replace the application's preferences.

  It would also be useful, I think that, on the Help menu, there's a thing said to reset the preferences and made the renunciation and raises for you. But they do not.

  I want to create a script that will create a cascade of paragraph based on the style settings [standard paragraph] styles. My goal is to point size of each new paragraph style character as a percentage of the original [standard paragraph]. So if [standard paragraph] is 100% (point character size 10pt), the script would create a paragraph style called 120% ' that has a point size of character of 12 points. Then 133%, 140%, and on and on. I modified a script found on this forum to generate these new styles, but I don't know how to be based on the [standard paragraph]. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

• Satellite 1900-303: ATI Display Driver questions

  My laptop broke down several times and incident analysis Microsoft told me that the problem is caused by the display driver ATI Mobility M6. I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba site and the site of ATI but the installation cannot be performed because of missing files.

  Usually, you should always use the graphics driver Toshiba because these drivers are designed for the use of the laptop. The other driver graphic s manufacturer, you can use on the desktop PC and not on the Toshiba laptop due to overheating problems.

  You can also check other Toshiba laptops with the same graphics card if there is a newer version of the graphics driver.

  Have you checked if the recovery procedure can solve this problem? If this isn't the case, then well, I think you should also check this possibility. Perhaps, it solves the strange question.

• Transport as a whole in a single 5510 jam

  I get the message of jam of transport despite having fully checked for any questions, according to the Web site tech support. The printer performs a copy very well, but at the end of the job, when it's supposed to spit the paper, it seems to be caught tight rollers repeatedly and this until I gently pull the paper on the rolls. • He had to fix virtual disk

  When I try to delete a snapshot I get the message: "there is ERROR WHILE TRYING to DELETE the SNAPSHOT impossible to clean deleted files: the specified virtual disk needs to be repaired" I had this problem for a long time and nobody seemed to be able to help me.  The biggest problem is that now I get the error message: "THIS VIRTUAL MACHINE HAS MORE THAN 100 SHOTS IN a SINGLE BRANCH OF ITS SNAPSHOT TREE if you take several shots of the VM in this branch, the guest operating system may not start again.  You must delete some shots or make a full clone of the virtual machine"when I use the 'dismantling' to try to remove snapshots there is only 1 shoot snap it (not more than 100) and it won't let me not even delete this one - I get the message on repair the specified disk!  If I'm better to do a clon full I can find how to do but I think the best thing would be to locate more than 100 pictures and delete them. Help!

  For those following this thread that the resolution is down to use TeamViewer to establish a connection and after reviewing the State of the existing virtual machine and its file structure, we used a copy of the original disc base within the whole of the existing Virtual Machine to create a new virtual and moved the Copy Machine in the package of the virtual machine in order to keep everything bundled default normal Fusion Virtual Machine.  It had basically everything accept the current user data that will be saved out of the old Virtual Machine before it is deleted.  What makes it particularly easy to do's, is the original Virtual Machine was created in Fusion 1.x and had the VHD monolithic default and with the character size and the date and time this basic disk, all that is needed are Windows updates since the middle of October and current user data and it is so good to go and up to date.  So that made it very easy to decide to create an existing virtual machine from the base of the virtual machine disk and not even try to treat 100 orphans AutoProtect snapshots and just delete the now old Virtual Machine after it is in checked that all the user data has been retrieved.

  Also the appearance of things the situation that caused the problem has been the AutoProtect feature was still creating AutoProtect snapshots and do not delete as it should to in order to keep only the number defined when configuring this feature.  This not the first time I see a mess like that I firmly believe that it is caused by a bug in this feature.

  In any case Todd was nice to talk to you and help you with this problem.  Once you are sure to have your user out of the VM now old data, you can simply delete it like I showed you and also mentioned by oreeh.

  No need to run a database create new host - already built sound at the source. Make a software 'only' install and get the ORACLE_HOME corrected and updated, you'll clone basically just the database to the new instance.

  As long as the source database is in archivelog mode, you can put the database in backup mode, copy the files of data, complete backup to the source mode and make a log switch.

  I think that this is due to the & character being a character reserved for technologies XML, which is what BI use to manage data. try to replace the & with the &-a-m-p -; a-m-p; (remove the-) escape the & character.

  I have a VB.NET application that generates a PS containing text and graphics.  I need to follow, in my VB app, hence a text is printed. More specifically, I have a block of text that will be analyzed under several lines to insert in a fixed-width column.  So I would like to know how much text can I print on the current line before going to the next line. So I need to know the print of a given text segment width.

  Is it possible for VB calculate or somehow get (via a call to?) the "stringwidth' of a text string for a given font?

  There are probably two ways, at least, to accomplish what you're after, within your VB application:

  1. I am not familiar with the capabilities of setting for the text in VB, but I think that you could determine the string or the widths of characters, spaces and to understand the positions of break as long as you have the same font for VB as you do for the work of the PS.

  Starting point for VB:

  • Var g As System.Drawing.Graphics = Me.CreateGraphics
  • Dim str As String = "this is the string to get the width of.
    Dim StringSize As SizeF = g.MeasureString (str, Me.Font)

  2. you could load widths of characters face (size 1) police of PS in a database table that you could access from VB and multiply the time of widths nominal character size that you set to determine the width of the characters printed, etc. (it is what I am most familiar with. This technique can be extended to include kerning pairs and it requires that your VB application host has installed on the printer fonts or screen PS).

  We upgrade from CS2 to CS3 and CS2, we use wide type (Via a transformation tool and selecting the box) and in the type of character size it would have two values a regular and the other between (). EX: ARTICLE12.15... From the drop of the control bar when we were in a transformation or selection tool, we had a way to reset at which he showed that a single value... it's gone in CS3... Does anyone know where this option is now reset to not show the two values?

  If it's the same in CS4, then you will find the menu option in the Panel menu 100% scaling transformation as "redefine".

  In CS4, you can set your preference for the scaling of "Content scale" in the measurement of objects instead of "Option adjust scaling percentage. If this option is in CS3, then scaling of content will avoid this problem, negating the need to reset the text attribute, or redefine the scale 100%.

• RawData duplication of a field to another field

  I'm looking for help to duplicate rawdata of a field to another field.

  Here's what I want to do:

  1. There is a field named "FirstName" in my form and another field named "FirstNameOnBadge" on the same form.

  2. "FirstName" field has unlimited character size; Field 'FirstNameOnBadge' is limited to 25 characters.

  3. when I enter the field "First name" rawdata, the first 25 characters of this rawdata should appear in the field 'FirstNameOnBadge '.

  4. I should be able to edit the rawdata field 'FirstNameOnBadge' (maximum 25 characters), and it would have no effect on the rawdata in the original "first name" field.

  I need to keep these two unique and distinct fields, because their respective rawdata travels to different fields in different databases.

  Would be it someone please let me know how to do this?

  What are the parameters and coding that needs to go in these areas?

  On the exit event of the FirstName field put this code:

  This.rawValue = FirstNameOnBadge.rawValue;

  Set the FirstNameOnBadge field to a limit of 25 characters. When the name is copied it truncates to 25 characters for you automatically.

  Note that this assumes that the two fields are in the same subform. If this isn't the case, then you must include the path to the FirstName field as well.

  Have you read the article in the Acrobat Javascript reference that describes the properties of a field? I have not scripted fonts in acrobat before, but make sure you get the correct syntax to define the name of the font. Examples of reference:

  Then all of a sudden, I am unable to change the size of the text in the character Panel. I select the text in my document, then go in the character Panel and type in let say "55"... but is not type it in Control Panel... it Pat on the current document in the selected type - like ill have a selected phrase and then it will be replaced by 55...
