Charged for new plan while the old plan was intact

Recently, I noticed that my creative cloud composition plan was too expensive, so I went to switch plans not knowing that I have would be charged for the switch while my old plan was intact.  Should not change the customers once their old plan expires?  Now I'm in the hole more for this reason and chat support and hotline were no help to make this change go away.

Renewal plans automatically at the end of the period of membership, unless you cancel.  If you launched a second, contact support to explain your situation and cancel the old membership:
