Check if a file exists in the network dir (JS)

I found an old post that made me to:

If {(myFile.exists)

Alert ("File Exists");

}

on the other

Alert ("file does not exist");

The problem is that when I use the macname/volumes/dir/folder/folder/file.indd path (which was created from variables) that myFile script is not conclude to the existence of a file that I know. All I get is the alert "file does not exist.

I set myFile as being a string?

I'm still fumbling my way around JS and conversion Applescripts for JS to work cross-platform. Thanks in advance...

I set myFile as being a string?

No, set it as follows:

var myFile = new File("/Volumes/VolumeName/FolderName/SubFolderName/FileName.indd");

  • Receiving the message: a duplicate name exists on the network.

I ran a repair Windows Home CD with SP1 on this laptop and I had trouble getting to the end. He kept giving error message - missing or damaged dll file. So finally, after several attempts and a few prayers, I was able to get through without having to run a Recovery Console. As I said, I was trying

And now I have an error message pops up saying: a duplicate name exists on the network (the).  I was told I could install a XP Pro Tools program, but I forgot to write the instructions. And he still appears whenever I boot Windows XP Home OS. Any suggestions? I appreciate it as this notice little if aggravating especially after all I wanted to do this work without an error Mssg.

    Hi Alweed,

You can try the following steps and check:

    a. right click on desktop

    b. click Properties

    c. click on the computer name tab at the top.

    d. check the 'display name' of each computer in question and make sure they are unique.

    (e) if they are not, click on the button 'change'. (If not, replace the name of one of the computers)

    f. you may have to restart your computer.

  • Error - Windows cannot login because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network and that your network is working properly. Unable to log-in to the guest account

Original title: problem: Guest account does not work even after activation due to profile problems.

After you activate the guest on this system account tries to log in under this account to fail with the message "Failed to load the user profile". According to the information I found online about this error, I checked HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList to see if a key exists since comments (it isn't). I also checked the Windows application log and found the following entries:

    • Windows cannot copy file C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm to the C:\Users\Guest\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm location. This error can be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

    Well guys,.

The simplest solution is to read what the error.

    "Cannot copy file C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\SqmApi\SqmData720896_00.sqm"

I tried a lot of suggestion, but delete the file crazy and that's all working again.

Beter first remove windows live as well. I only have the first and received the message that something is wong with the installation.

  • Windows system error: a duplicate name exists on the network.

I get an error message from windows at initial startup. The message is "Windows system error: a duplciate name exists on the network." How can I fix this?

What version of Windows, including the service pack is installed?

After the error, can you use the computer to access the Internet?

You have a home network (i.e. more than one computer sharing an Internet connection) or this error pops up on a computer used in a business/company/Office?

Assuming that there is a situation of home, what has changed recently in what concerns other devices (computer, printers, game boxes, etc.) added to the mix?

How this computer is connected to the Internet?

Make a right click my computer and select Properties.  Then click on the "Computer name" tab  The 'full name' should not be the same as the name of "workgroup".

The error is a complaint that another device on any network to which your computer is connected to has the same name that the 'full name' shown in system properties (I assume that it is also possible that the error reports that there are two devices on the network with the same name even if none of these devices your computer).

Although there are utilities that scan your network and to report the names of connected devices, they are somewhat nonsimple to use and may not work on a computer that will expose the error that report you.

If your computer is on a home network, share an Internet connection using a router, you can manually check all other devices.  You don't maybe not easily able to determine the 'computer name' no computer network devices, but it is highly unlikely that such a device, for example, a network printer, would have the same name as your computer.

Just to be sure there isn't something special going, disconnect your computer from your network (or your Internet connection) and then it reboot.  The duplicate name error should NOT appear if the computer is not connected to a network.

  • A duplicate name exists on the network

    Hello

We are trying to install a 4.6 view environment and am getting an error on my VMs that a duplicate name exists on the network. The pool does not composer and is automated with assignment of the user of floating. I created a template which is Windows XP and on our field. Research on virtual machines that there where to create the pool, they each kept the model name VM's DNS name is following my pattern of naming. Is it possible to have virtual machine created by the pool GET a new name?

    Thank you

You must use sysprep/quickprep to rename the guest operating system: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2003797

I think that you can only use quickprep with linked clones, so you need to use sysprep:

    1. download Microsoft sysprep (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/838080)

    2. you will need to prepare your sysprep answer file (it is a good guide: http://capitalhead.com/articles/force-sysprep-to-prompt-for-a-computer-name-during-mini-setup-in-windows-xp.aspx)

    3. If you are using the guide above and you let the ComputerName = * in place, it will automatically generate a new name for the computer for you.  If you remove the * you will need to enter a computer name whenever a new virtual machine is created.  Not exactly ideal because it is supposed to be automatic, but at least you would get a control.

    4. install the deployment tools XP on your server vCenter (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\xp)

5 load your Sysprep.inf in your 'customization specifications' within the VI client.

This gives you a name generated randomly for each virtual computer.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a way to make this name match the pattern specified in the pool.  I gave up at the end and switched to linked Clones as it makes the whole process a million times easier

    Hope this helps

  • UTL_FILE. OPEN_FILE question to check if a file exists and is not empty

    Hello

I'm writing a code in 3 separate files are created based on certain conditions of parameter for the call of the extract.
Say that the parameters are NULL, 'A' and 'B '.
When the Null State is passed to the call of the extract then it should create file A and B if the records are found. If this isn't the case, then create empty files.
It is possible that the setting of the extract is just 'A', then it would create a file say no zero and B with file from scratch.
Now when the extract is called with the parameter 'B' and if the file already exists and is not empty then I shouldn't touch/crash with empty folders.
Is there a simple way I can do this to check if a file exists and is not empty?

    I use
    OPEN_FILE
    (gv_utl_file_path
    lv_file_name

  • Check if certain files exist

    Hi all

I wrote a reference guide and I was wondering if I can check if certain files exist on a page.
If it exists then I can send the user to a page.
And if not, they will see another page.
Grateful if someone points me to the right direction.

    Thank you
    Karen

    Hello Cognethos,

You must use the double backslashes in your path of the file reference. Your script is OK except this line:
    If (FSO. FileExists ("C:\Program Files\Common Files\My file.txt Directory\My"))

    It should read this:
    If (FSO. FileExists ("file.txt C:\\Program Program Files\\My Directory\\My"))

The technical reason for this is that there are special characters that you cannot use directly in a string. In this case, your path is the chain. Backslash is be one of the special characters that you cannot use directly in a string. To work around this problem, you must do what is called an escape sequence. In this case, the escape sequence for------is------.

    Concerning
    Ankit

As you can see, the port = "14021' for the multicast network.
If you specify on the second server port = "14022" then you can use the same name reportserver on both servers.
Only downside is that you can send requests to report from the first server (to the help of run_report_object rwservlet, rwclient or forms) to the reportsserver on the second, but this isn't a problem if you have set up 2 servers identical for purposes of distribution of the load or high availability.
