Check status - VSAN inaccessible objects

Hello

I recently completed an upgrade of a cluster VSAN running on U2 5.5 to 6.0 U1 vCS vCS. All components have managed without a problem.

On trying to upgrade VSAN on the disc version of v1 to v2 file system; I ran through all the audits recommended using the RVC console. Cluster info are great, the disk check was also fine. After reporting on the vsan.check_state, I get the following:

Do I need to worry? I don't think I'll be able to proceed with the upgrade with these inaccessible objects. I can see that there is a command to purge vswap files but I don't think this is related.

If anyone can help?

Just display the resolution to my problem that I've finally sorted it all last week. No point in going to detail here, but I list exactly deliver and fix it in a blog that can be read here.

In short, we must work with GSS to remove objects manually from the affected our cluster node.

Thank you all for the help involved!

    When you run the battery check, it returns

    Status: Unknown (90)

    The long description is:

    Main battery

    An error occurred trying to access the battery.  Please re-insert the battery and the power adapter for a new test of the battery.

    The suggestion is to turn it off, replace the battery and AC power, I did several times.  I also followed the procedures outlined in another post about a battery check status unknown (94)... but no change.

    How can I correct this condition such that I can get a battery status check valid, like 'OK', 'Calibrate', 'Replace', etc.

    Is there a * easy * way to clean the battery contacts?

    Note: Diagnostics of HP you can run before Windows (tube exhaust when starting) indicate that the battery is "defective", perhaps because the diagnosis can also access chip smart battery.

    There is no other assignments by mentioning the battery... check (90) advanced status code just to code (94) elsewhere.

    Found the solution!

    There is a new version of firmware, version F.0F (appears as 'F' to the poster information) which is available in the download section software.  Version F.0F is documented as the resolution of a problem with checking Service Advisor 5.x and battery.

    I downloaded the firmware update, installed and then re-directed to battery check.  Now I have a proper status, with detailed battery status is displayed.  In my case, the battery is about 2 years old and needs to be calibrated.  But I now have a status legitimate and can go through the calibration process.

    Note: I use Advisior of Service 5.2.9.2 and says there is no update additional software that apply... .but Advisior Service missing update of Firmware and will not download and install it.

    According to the notice of Release Firmware, this firmware version applies to several laptop models.

    After I calibrate my battery, I'll try running battery check and start diagnostics.  Diagnostics boot time also scored as battery being defective in the past... with the older firmware.

    I'll post my results once completed.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • VSAN - Inaccessible VM / orphans?

    Hi - I have a VSAN to 3 knots - version 6.0 - cluster 3073146.

    All of a sudden I came to all guests of the cluster as inaccessible and orphaned.  There has not been change in this lab environment / I know.

    Things I've tried so far:

    With RVC and nothing else in various orders

    Nothing appears in the data store browser

    restart of the armed forces has no effect

    esxi eagents restarting has no effect - reboot takes care of this, but I did any means until it recharges

    Save and reload without effect all the vm

    VSAN.clear_disks_cache - nothing

    VSAN.check_state - this displays all objects and how they are inaccessible etc. - does not solve the

    VSAN.purge_inaccessible_vswp_objects

    I also changed the multicast on all 3 of the nodes, just for craps - nothing.  I did this under Cormacs site - VSAN troubleshooting Case Study - CormacHogan.com

    What I'm missing here?

    Need help/help please!

    Thank you

    Check out the KB referenced in the message. I think it's a question or turning off the feature and the disc Assembly of groups that have been dismantled, if my memory is (assuming that is the question, of course).

When I opened and see the status of the task, it shows me in the meantime the State against "the subject pending data.

    The suite - no buttons.

    As far as I understand it - there are a few problems with certificate.

    So, help me with troubleshooting, please.

    Thank you.

    Glad it worked! I managed to solve the rest of my problem get the plugin loaded as well.  Layout rhttpproxy.cert solved the problem with health-tr/min-post-install completed successfully.  But after you start the vmware-vsan-health service, health in the web client page loaded yet never buttons such as 'enable '.

    I checked /var/log/vmware/vsan-health/vmware-vsan-health-service.log and noticed it was spamming 'Could not open a session in VC, retry in 10 seconds' over and over again.  So I went digging in the python source in /usr/lib/vmware-vpx/vsan-health. I managed to understand that when you start the web service that hosts the plugin, it tries to connect to vCenter using own vCenter SSL certificate and the private key (rui.crt and rui.key) in/etc/vmware-vpx/ssl. On my VCSA, the permissions of that file looked like this:

    myvcsa: / etc/vmware-vpx/ssl # ls - la

    Total 28

    drwxr-x - 2 root cis 4096 Jul 20 05:00.

    drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 21 Jul 04:05...

    -rw - 1 root root 3416 Apr 30 05:36 rui.crt

    -rw - 1 root root 1704 Apr 30 05:36 rui.key

    -rw - 1 root root 65 30 Apr 05:19 symkey.dat

    -rw - 1 root root 3343 Apr 30 05:36 vcsoluser.crt

    -rw - 1 root root 1704 Apr 30 05:36 vcsoluser.key

    Now, I knew that the health service was run as a local user called vsan-health. It so there's no way that he would be able to read these files.  Fortunately, I had a mostly vanilla VCSA I could compare with.  Here's what looked like the VCSA vanilla folder:

    myvcsa: / etc/vmware-vpx/ssl # ls - la

    Total 28

    drwxr-x - 2 root cis 4096 Jul 20 05:00.

    drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 Jul 21 04:24...

    -rw - r - 1 root cis 3416 Apr 30 05:36 rui.crt

    -rw - r - 1 root cis 1704 Apr 30 05:36 rui.key

    -rw - 1 root root 65 30 Apr 05:19 symkey.dat

    -rw - r - 1 root cis 3343 Apr 30 05:36 vcsoluser.crt

    -rw - r - 1 root cis 1704 Apr 30 05:36 vcsoluser.key

    Notice the difference of the Group property on the associated files cert and change of 600 to 640 permissions.  When I saw that, I have also remembered seeing in the vsan firstboot script that the vsan-health user was added to the cis group.  As soon as I did my broken VCSA permissions corresponds to vanilla, the service has started and all this work began.  I guess the reason that my permissions were leech is a bug with the replacement of SSL scripts.  One of the first things I do on my vCenter is updating the SSL certificates with those customized PKI infrastructure.  I guess that process currently does not work quite right and live the permissions on files that is not replaced.

  • Is it possible to change the status of an object?

    Hello!

    I'm currently learning AS3 to develop my own game, but is my experience in game development with LUA script. Lua script, you can write/script objects with different status, with IF statements.  For an example,

    Code:
    if(ObjGet(ObjFind(1001),O_STATUS)==1)
        {
         This will happen
        }
       else
       if(ObjGet(ObjFind(1001),O_STATUS)==2)
       {
         This will happen
        }

    In other words if object 1001 (for example, a key) put the criteria of status 1 = this will happen or if he put 2 status = another triggered event. I was wondering if it is possible to do with the AS3 code?

    Let me explain what I want to achieve, I want an event when you kill enemies of script, it turns block that the player challenges. I thought to do through frameworks of the enemy object - 1 enemy = frame, 2 = block.

    Code:
    if (player.hitTestObject(enemy))
                   {
                health.meter.width--; ///reduce health of enemy
                            }
                         Collision.block(player, enemy); ///enemy bounces off player
                             }
                   if (enemy!= null)
                   {
                        if (enemy.hitTestPoint(bullet.x, bullet.y,true))
                             {
                             enemy.meter.width -= 5;
                             enemy.gotoAndStop(2); //// frame 2 - block
                             removeChild(bullet);
                              {
                                  if(enemy.gottoAndStop(2)) /// if frame 2 enemy
                              }
                        Collision.block(enemy, player); /// player can push f2 enemy
                              }

    I tried this code, it does not work and also haven't tried the code of State above my experience both Lua, no chance. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    P.S - Question at random - how to make books/sites that share script files to look at to make reference to and learn?

    Your lack of proper indentation promotes a difficult read, but you can reduce that to...

    If (player.hitTestObject (enemy)) {}
    If (player.currentFrame == 1 | player.currentFrame == 3) {}
    -Health.meter.Width;
    player.nextFrame ();
    }
    Collision.Block (player, enemy);
    } Else if (player.currentFrame == 2 | player.currentFrame == 4) {}
    player.prevFrame ();
    }

    ex JSON:

    {

    name: "someName".

    DESC: 'someDesc '.

    }

    How to check the available name?

    Thank you

    If you want to check if the name is available, you must use

    bool nameExists = variantMap.contains ("name")

  • Task to the mapping of object status: is it possible to have user-defined status?

    Hi guru.

    'Task of object state Mapping' tab for the definition of the process allows you to set the "status of the object' to 'status '.

    'Status of the object' contains values defined on "Definition of the State" for defined object "resource". It is possible to extend this list by adding user-defined status. But the allocation of these statutes (for example, 'view data name updated') for status (say, 'C', finished) it causes a corresponding Bundle error is found.

    How is it possible to use the user defined the statutes?

    Hello

    These statutes are pre-defined and shipped by the IOM.

    You cannot change C-> etc. put into service.

  • Need help to understand the DOM objects on host VSAN MDs

    I read the info that I could find on the disk objects (including best practices guide & blog of Cormac), but fail to wrap my head around why I see what I see.

    I have a motorized on VM (cvf1-wshark), who lives on a VSAN 3 nodes cluster. Each node has 1 SSD and 4 MD I uses all of the default policies (FTT, bandwidth, etc.).

    That said, I wonder why it is clear from the exit of the vsan.disk_object_info of order RVC who live on 3 of my knots VSAN VM objects. vSphere client shows the correct RAID0 between 2 hosts (13.21 & 13.23) mirroring a witness (13.22), but the DOM objects on 13.22 aren't cookies (which I don't expect to see objects anyway). So, what do these objects on 13.22? I see the same distribution for each of my virtual machines on this cluster.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Yep - it is a quite normal output.

    As Duncan suggests above, your poster only the same information each time your run of the command.

    And each object is composed of 3 elements (2 x replicas of RAID-1 + the witness).

    The other thing to watch is that this command is more information that you have requested, i.e. all components. However, components that are active for the disc that you put as an argument to the command are going to be wrapped in * double Asterix *.

    For example:

    The DOM object: 26533353-5452-fa2f-b0f6-0025b5c2622c (owner: 192.168.13.23, policy: hostFailuresToTolerate = 1).
