• Yosemite & NEW installation of InDesign CS6 - questions?

  I installed on my 2010 Yosemite MacBook Pro. My boss wants me to buy InDesign CS6 as a new installation. (I've never had any version of InDesign installed on my Mac). I prefer InDesign CC, but he's going for him.

  I tried to launch the installation of the trial of indesign on Mac OS 10.3.9 and I get an error everytime I run the .dmg file, "No mountable file system" I downloaded the file about four times now, and the same mistake gottent.  Is it possible that there is a problem with the file?

  Looking at the datasheet for InDesignCS4, it says 10.4.11 or 10.5.x are required to use the software. You will need to update your operating system to load the trial.

  Thank you Michael. I will remember that if this happens again. In the end, it fixed itself! After an hour or two of hand frozen, I left for a while and when I got back, everything was very good! I think that there is a first time for everything!

  I have a problem with InDesign on Mac OSX 10.9.3 CS6 and I'm really desperate now...

  I installed the CS6 Master Collection a few days ago... all programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects TE) work well, but InDesign does not work.

  I use a MAC like work and indesign on it. But it's my personal computer, and I need at home. My boss wants me to a microsoft to use at work and I wonder if there is a difference if I get indesign for Mac vs microsoft.

  The most important thing is you must use the same version of InDesign , if you move files back and forth.

  The second most important thing is that you have to use OpenType fonts or fonts PC TrueType. PostScript Type 1 fonts are not cross-platform compatible.

  Otherwise, InDesign works almost the same with a few keystrokes (Alt or Option, Ctrl or Cmd) changing.

  InDesign on Mac with 10.8 CS6 have problems with links. All links to other files need to be updated when you open a file, although absolutely nothing has changed for linked files.

  Thanks for your quick response.
  In fact, we noticed that there also seems to be something wrong with the timestamps:
  If we open the news via the MAC finder to a file (.psd for example) which is linked to one of our indesign files, it has a certain date of creation.
  If we then switch to the Indesign file that we just opened in which we had to update all the links and open information to exactly the same file looked at us in the finder, another creation date is indicated. So there also seems to be a mistake here (hope it is clear what I mean).

  Our network we are excluding the error cannot be "re-enacted". We have created several test files in Indesign (simple white page with a link to a .psd file which is also used in one of the allegedly defective files) and opened on different MACs with different versions of the OS over the past few days/weeks, but unfortunately files open without notifications or errors.

  Just as a background: a few months ago the problem seems to occur between MACs with different OS, 10, 6-10, 8 first. A file that was created on a MAC 10.6 could not be opened without updating all the links on a 10.8 Mac is why we've updated everything to 10.8. The error will not occur for about 2-3 weeks but then reoccured again. ?

  For MAC, you can use AppleScript or Javascript, COM is a technology purely WIN.

  In my opinion, you should go with Javascript that way you'll be able to share the same code on a VICTORY and a MAC machine.

  I received a notice of available for the flash player upgrade 25/04/12. I downloaded it and rn install on my MacBookPro 13 "2011. It runs the latest Version of Safari 5.1.5 (7534.55.3) I've never had problems with flash previously.

  During the installation of upgrade, the Mac crashed and I had to do a power off / reboot. Since then, installs just fail. I did all the steps on the Adobe help site including of same, reinstall, ran repair permissions, disk check, etc.. I even tried to install an older version of flash - still no installation. I returned and tried all the steps above and all I get is a "install does not" somewhere around 0-2%.

  Any ideas?

  I downloaded the free app OnyX and cleaned the personal caches that removed a corrupt cache file. Restarted and installed correctly.

• Why did my InDesign CS2 MAC v4.0 suddenly asks my serial no and he accepts not?

  I use InDesign CS2 MAC v4.0 on my Mac OSX 10.4.11 on a daily basis for years. I stopped using InDesign for a few months, and when I went to use it again, he asks me my serial number and then told me that the number I provided is not valid (as I said, I have I have used daily for years).
