Hello

Where can I get Chinese support for (T-mobile) BB device software?

Hello

I tried to download connect to another carrier to get Chinese help, when the BB8800 is a BONE volume, the message I get is no software available. Is it not the software is dependent upon carrier?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Support for Windows 2000

    Hello world

I have a beautiful new Blackberry 9700 and I want to sync it with my camera of works that use a combo of W2k Lotus 6.1 archaic and unfortunately the software requires XP or higher.

Are there workarounds I really need connect my calendar etc.

    TIA

Ahhh... I see. You bought the device and the supplied CD contains a RIM desktop software version which requires XP. I have it. Probably, this means also is not the version that would support your version of Organizer anyway. Therefore, you must download the appropriate version of the RIM software and use it as a replacement for the CD. You can DL the version you need from here:

Now, all that said, you have a very recent BB with which you have to try to use a very old RIM desktop software. I have no idea if that will work at all... but give it a shot.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones is supported for the East Asian languages for the Blackberry Bold 9780 on O2?

Hello, I hope someone can help me with my problem. I'm new to the whole Blackberry I just bought my first BB camera a few days ago so please understand if I don't know what words are in the world of Blackberry. The questions will be in bold.

So, I recently bought a Blackberry Bold 9780 and I am very satisfied with the overall product. However I was wondering if there was support for the East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc) for my 9780 BB which is on O2 UK.

Right now, in my languages options, I can only entry for most European languages (English, Spanish, French, etc.) There are no options for languages of East Asia at all. When I try to display all messages or go on the browser which are languages of East Asia, I don't see one set of black boxes.

I know there are software updates to update your device to take charge of specific languages, so I checked the software downloads page that interests me.

O2 - UK users, they have two packages:

-BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.905 (all languages)

    Package Version: 6.0.0.905
    Composed of:

    • Applications: 6.0.0.294
    • Software platform: 6.5.0.54
    • File name: 9780AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel905_PL6.5.0.54_A6.0.0.294_O2_UK.exe
    • File size: 180,72 MB

    -BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.0905 (Multilingual)

    Package Version: 6.0.0.905
    Composed of:

    • Applications: 6.0.0.294
    • Software platform: 6.5.0.54
    • File name: 9780jAllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel905_PL6.5.0.54_A6.0.0.294_O2_UK.exe
    • File size: 185,61 MB

Then How do I know which package I currently installed on my device because the application number and the number of software are identical.

On my device it details shows: v6.0.0.294, (905 Bundle, platform 6.5.0.54)

So I wonder if none of the above two packages have the option to enable East Asian language support.

I'm sure I have the latest update for my camera that I can't update more far depending on the desktop software and my phone. So If I move to another package, how do I go to do?

I mainly use a MAC, but I can also have access to a PC too. I don't know if it's important, but I think that there is a difference between the Desktop software on each computer that is used to update your software.

If possible, it is that I would be able to download another package that has the support of another service provider East Asia and update on my own? Or is it too risky because it may crash my machine?

And my last question, so it is likely that O2 can do in the near future if there is no option for the language support East Asia now,?

Sorry if I rambled on a bit too much or too many questions. I just want to know if its possible to enable language support is now, otherwise I will waste countless hours looking for a method. I looked to see if there were similar questions, asked the Board of Directors, but none was really specific to my needs.

A big thank you to everyone who sits reading through this. I appreciate the responses.

    Thank you.

Do not know if you understand how to do this, but I did these steps and it worked fine:

    1. https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=7D2A383E54274888B4B73B97E1AAA491&dl=... go here and download the version of v6.0.0.0905 (Multilingual) BlackBerry Handheld Software.

2 install the downloaded OS on your computer, you need the files of this new OS more later to add multi language support for your BlackBerry device.
    C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9780AllLang_v6.0.0.294_P6.5.0.54
The CJK.alx is the file that you will use later.

    3. use Desktop Manager to save your BlackBerry (better safe than sorry)

    4. before installation, go to your AppLoader folder, for example C:\Program Files Research In Motion\AppLoader and move the Vendor.xml to a backup directory, if you have kept a copy of the file. The loader.exe allows to load up the AppLoader, follow the instructions in the wizard.

He automatically gave me a list of applications and languages, if you scroll down see you East Asian languages check those you want that I checked Japanese and Thai language and font support. If you do not see these click on 'Add' at the top and navigate to the CJK.alx file.

So let the application loader it's thing, after that everything should work.

Hope this works for you also. I take no responsibility of bricking your phone.

BlackBerry should be an option to install more languages via the phone.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones far East language and other issues of Support for Bold 9780 - please provide your comments!

    Hello

Here is my card for your info:

BB Bold 9780 (bought 3 days ago - unlocked to carriers)

My carrier - Vodafone (Australia) - BIS active

    Computers - Macbook Pro

After some research on the web all day, I discovered that far East languages is not yet available on the Bold 9780.

I understand that I must language of d/l a far east of the carrier (mine is Vodafone Australia), in order to read and input Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language on the BB. It's extremely frustrating, and I feel that we're going backward in the field of smart phones - globalization have been an important factor for many bright smart phone users out there.

I have a few questions, I hope that you guys can provide comments:

    1. what kind of time we talk to have the language support for the far East region? I would never have bought the new BB (probably would have gone for the 9700) if I knew that East Asian languages is not available on the new BB! ?? I know that it is covered by the carriers, but surely RIM provides the build?

    2. as I am a newbie (I just 2.5 years of iPhones), I do not understand the concept (or it's documented all that clearly) to have a 5 device and software OS6? what the devil is the difference, or are they just the same? thinking, maybe this is... but why is already released OS6, but I still see the "last and best Device Software 5" throughout the site of BB? someone help me please understand this.

    3. is it possible that I can load an earlier version of the device software (Vodafone provides a Far - east Pak BB Bold 9700)? I tried several times, after running and unzipped the file in Desktop Manager, the device software is not even on my Desktop Manager (v6). is it because the Desktop Manager detects the version of my phone and does not allow vodafone to 9700 from the list of applications to load software? or does?

    4. on my MAC, I can't install the plugin App world - he says that it is not available on a Mac... How mac users supposed to do use desktop base access App World? I know that we are not a majority, but it is obsurd - that being said, I'm not unreasonable, I can live with that.

5 make BB have phone support in Australia? again, I can live with not one, but I've seen feeling is also unreasonable.

Please don't get me wrong - I could met whining - but I desperately want my new device works... I love so many things about the BB, and after taking the big step of the iphone, I find a lot of things that were never mentioned on crackberry, or any other site of fanboy of BB...

Thank you in advance, look forward to your comments!

    Hello

Okay... Let's start first... these forums are not a communication channel / rim. These forums are rather a community of support to users. RIM offers zero frontline support... all support is carried out by carriers and authorized resellers, who have the ability to escalate into WHEEL if necessary.

OK... with that of the road, we shall proceed:

Impossible for anyone here to know... or if they don't know, against the team of specialists on this site to reveal.

Another interest is the fact that, through the agent download portal for your carrier indicated, your BB model is not yet listed:

OS 6 is the next generation of BB OS (and there's even chatter on OS7 "out there"). The version the most recent supported by your operator is available via their download portal linked above (but with your conspicuous by their absence model number). OS 6 is now available for some model BBs only (I don't know if it has been released for your template declared BB). But the BONES are never published by RIM to the public... rather only to carriers who must certify and adopt an operating system and then release it to their users. The reason for this fall at the beginning of this post... they (carriers) are responsible for all support... so, they reserve the right to adopt or reject an OS that RIM just to present to them.

You can use ONLY a bundle of BONES that is your specific model BB number... nothing else will work. A 9700 isn't a 9780, so OS packages are not interchangeable. The best procedure, that I know about (upgrading, downgrading, reload) load a bundle of BONES is here:

Note that this only works on PC, Mac. But, you are not limited with this procedure, for only your carriers OS packages. You are free to use any bundle of BONES of any carrier until it's your specific model BB number. If you choose to do, then everything just insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML.

I send back you at the beginning... all support starts with your carrier.

Hi, I have recently boght a second hand blackberry 8800, o2 and now a tesco in it sim card, running V 4.2.1.101.

The problem is that I can't download app world.  I can navigate and use BBM so my blackberry is on?

I called and checked with Tesco, and they can see that I have data plans etc., just need to update my OS.  But when I plug it into the computer and run a check of update he says that he has none is available.  In addition, the requirements for App world are V4.2 I have, so I'm getting a bit stuck now.

Any help would be great I'm getting a bit bored now! TA

The obligation of execution AppWorld is not OS 4.2, it is OS 4.5 according to the download page on www.blackberry.com .  That's where you run problems.  Update your operating system that would solve.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8800 with provider telering

Hi, I live in Austria, Europe. I have a Blackberry 8800 and recently had to change the provider (previously A1 Vodafone).

Now, I have a SIM "telering" (part of the group T-Mobile Austria) with a contract called "Großer Basta", which includes 2 GB data volume.

However, I don't know how to activate GPRS or EDGE for data transfer. The phone displays GSM only, I can phone and send (and receive) text messages, but I have NO e-mail or Internet access. Telering is not very useful, I'm afraid.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful, thanks in advance.

    Greetings from Austria, Peter Pischler.

Hello Peter_987 and welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

Looks like your PIN has not been implemented for the data with the new mobile network carrier.

If you go to Options>Advanced Options>host Routing Table, you have all the entries listed? Otherwise, if you do Menu > register now, you get the enrollment message?

If you answer no to any of these questions, then you will need to contact the current mobile operator and ensure that your data services are provided.

    I hope this helps!

  • Problem blackBerry Smartphones: Facebook on BB 8800 - NOT YET RESOLVED

    Hello

I looked at the previous posts with solutions, but they only work for AT & T and not T-Mobile.

Until a few days ago, I was using a large facebook 1.5 on blackberry 8800 with T-mobile, and it worked. I received the notification of updated 1.6 and now the application does not work. No icons anywhere, no way to boot. I tried to change the theme, removing and reinstalling a few times - nothing. I downloaded a leak 1.5 of crackberry forums and tried to install it on the computer - but he says that files are missing.

So now I need a link that I can go with the blackberry and re-download the old facebook 1.5.

On Tmobile I can't upgrade to blackberry 4.5, later we did for 4.2.1.74. I also asked our people to IS and they say all that has Tmobile had the same problem and they don't know a solution for this. I sent a support request to the support of blackberry, but have still received no response. I hope that soon.

Please let me know where I can find facebook 1.5 for blackberry.

Thanks fo all the advice, your help is appreciated!

A new version of Facebook was published which should solve this problem. Go ahead and delete the version that you have installed (Options > Advanced Options > Applications) and download the new bundle.
