Chrome may be a substitute satisfactory for Firefox on Windows 2000?

Firefox recommends Opera for a replacement. Chrome would be as good a substitute for Windows 2000 Pro

12.0 Firefox should work perfectly on Win2000. It's Firefox 13.0 that Windows 2000 will not be able to support.

    Hello

Sorry, Toshiba provides only the drivers and tools for the OS liveries (M30X: WinXP). But you can search with google for drivers of W2k adapted. I think you will find them!

Win2003 drivers can be a problem because it is a server operating system and there is not so much drivers for laptop available!

For Linux, I found 3 interesting sites for you!

Unfortunately, he was unable for me to find a modem driver W2k on the Toshiba site. Also I m not 100% sure if the Win Xp driver works, but you can try it. If it doesn't work, you can restore the system back or remove the modem driver.

  • What are my options for upgrading to Windows 2000.

It of finally time to update my existing operating system, but do not have the time for a clean installation at the present time.  Can I switch to XP?

    Hi russman9785,

There are five methods for installing Windows XP. Consider the following methods, and then select the appropriate method for your installation.

    • Method 1: Perform a clean installation of Windows XP
Use this method for a clean installation of Windows XP. A new installation deletes all data from your hard disk by repartitioning and reformatting your hard disk and reinstall the operating system and programs empty (clean) hard disk.
    • Method 2: upgrade to Windows XP
Use this method if you upgrade to Windows XP from Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
    • Method 3: Install Windows XP on a new hard drive
Use this method to install Windows XP on a new hard drive. This is usually done when a new hard drive is installed on your computer.
    • Method 4: Install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation)
Use this method to install Windows XP to a new folder (parallel installation) to run two operating systems, or to access, repair, or retrieve data from a damaged disc.
    • Method 5: Perform a multiple boot operation
Use this method to install Windows XP as a separate operating system on your computer. This allows you to install several operating systems on your computer, then select the operating system you want to use every time that you start your computer.

  • Try to install the latest version of Flash for Firefox on Windows XP, get the Internet Explorer Script error

I am trying to install the latest version of Flash (file install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe), browser = Firefox 14 (current), OS = Windows XP.  I tried several times, making sure to disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect first.

At some point throughout the process - while downloading or during Assembly - I get the following error message:

    Internet Explorer Script error

    Line: 1

    Char: 10010

    Error: 'ActionLaunchAdobe' is not defined

    Code: 0

    URL: http://127.0.0.1:1174/app/_js/adobe.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? [Yes] [None]

If I answer [Yes] or [no] the result is the same - the program crashes. It does not close, and when I close it manually it asks if I want to stop it. But if I leave it there, nothing happens.

By the advice of the site, I uninstalled Flash in order to restart costs. This means that, instead of having an outdated Flash version, I now none.

I tried to RTFM, but research for this error go empty.  I'm curious to know why Internet Explorer being participates in it at first. But mostly, I'm just curious as to how to get this thing to work.

Thanks for you help with anything that can give me.

  • Why double click works not for Firefox in Windows 7 (Firefox 15.0.1) type files?

If I'm in the Windows 7 Windows Explorer double-click the name of a file that is mentioned as being a Firefox file by its file type symbol, it should be launched. But this does not happen. "If I select 'Open with' > Firefox" in the file context menu, nothing happens. But if I select another browser, the file will be launched.

Make sure that Firefox is always the default browser.

Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.

  • Flash Player for Firefox on Win 8 / 64-bit

I'm trying to install Flash Player for Firefox on Windows 8, 64-bit system, but have no end of grief.

I finally get the problem initially, and it happens because when I enter the info on the download page, it instead serves the Setup program for the 32-bit version.

In fact, it checks on the page that I request and download the 64-bit version, but what I get and then install is 32-bit.  And, therefore, I can't get Flash Player to work in Firefox.

Is there any way at all I can access the true 64-bit Flash Player for Firefox / Windows 8?

There is no installation of 32-bit and 64-bit; on a 64-bit system, the Setup program will automatically install 32-bit and 64-bit players.

    Download the installer from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe

  • using 30 firefox in windows 7, I get a blank when you restart, if I don't have that one tab open when I close it.

I have my options set for firefox "open windows and tabs from last time", but whenever I don't have that one tab left open, I get a blank page. If I have several tabs, then it opens with the tab and windows.
I am running Windows 7 Professional and Firefox 30. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Quote: it's only when I have no tabs open I get the blank page (instead of the homepage).

There is always at least one open tab, if it didn't is no extensions installed that hide the bar tab in this case.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
