Chromebook 13 off microphone?

Hello

You just bought a 13 Chromebook and love it - it's really impressive and I will replace my whole familys old boxes of Windows with Chromebooks.

But - in the den of Google using video, the microphone does not work - it tells me, that it is either cut or people with reduced mobility in handware and indeed I can not find anywhere, where I can reactivate it.

Someone at - it similar problems?

Karsten,

Unfortunately, it seems that you may have a hardware problem. The troubleshooting steps seem appropriate, if it was a software or related settings, I expect to have corrected itself. I suggest you contact your local support team.

Since installing windows 7, the microphone on my laptop seems to be permanently. Which is really bloody annoying when you go to your music and you get a very high feedback sound height. If anyone has had this problem or can anyone help?

also the Fn key works more :(

    > Although I still can't get the FN button work. I can not see the maps flash at the top of the screen, but I could never before. I tried to restart the flash cards, but which does nothing. I don't want to do that all the time, like using my mouse to click on them. I just want to use the FN key to use.
You can turn off flash cards so that they don't appear on the display.

So navigate to start > all programs > TOSHIBA > utilities > settings for Flash cards

Clear the option allow the mouse to make the maps. This means that cards Flash appears only if you press a FN key, but not with the mouse more. :)

    Hello

I suggest you try these steps.

Method 1: use Windows Sound Recorder to test the microphone.

You can use this section to find out if the computer can record a signal from the

Microphone and play again. Use Windows sound recorder to create an audio file using the following steps:

    a. connect the Microphone to the computer.

    b. Click Start, all programs, accessories, and select Sound Recorder.

    c. click start recording and speak into the microphone.

When you are finished recording, click on stop record.

    Screen automatically opens.

Type a file name and click Save. A type WAV or WMA file is created in the Documents folder.

If you can record the Audio using the Microphone using the method above then the microphone works well.

Now, it should work in any application that Supports Microphone. If the computer records the audio using the method above, then it might be a problem with the Microphone settings. Now, check the following settings.

Method 2: Activation of the Microphone.

    a. plug the microphone into the computer.

    b. Click Start, all programs, accessories, and then click Sound Recorder.

    c. click start recording and speak into the microphone.

    d. Recording tab showing a signal detected for the Microphone device

Note: Micro Icon should have checkmark on it. Is no green check mark, this means that it is disabled. If there is no green mark on micro it never works.

To activate the Microphone, right click on Microphone and click Activate. If you do not see the Microphone in the list, right click on the white space and select devices see the disabled.

Then, you'd see the Microphone. However, if you do not see the checkmark on it, right-click on it and click Activate. Select Microphone and click on set as default (if defined as default button is active).

If you see the green checkmark on Microphone the Microphone really works.

Method 3: Increase the Microphone sensitivity and non-disabling the Microphone.

    a. Select Microphone and click the Properties button.

    b. move the slider up to 100% of its range.

    c. If the mute is enabled, click the button mute to reactivate the device.

    d. If the Microphone Boost is available, amplify the volume.

    e. click OK to make the changes.

    Now the Microphone should work.

    Hello.

I have problem with my microphone, maybe not microphone but my entry into the laptop.
When I connect something to the entrance, and I start the program to save, there is nothing to just silence, and when I log off (microphone or something like that) program is sound recording.

I don't know what is happening. I turn off the drivers of the device...
and I reinstall audio drivers, maybe more just, I have format my computer and still nothing.
Seriously I don't know what the problem...

Please help because I'm going crazy :D

    Hello

I recommend checking out the settings first.
In Control Panel-> sound, you should check the volume of the microphone.
The volume must be set to the highest level.

In Control Panel, you should also find the Audio from Realtek Manager. There you can change some options too.
On the right side (right column), you'll find options called advanced settings. Here you can change the settings for the headphone and microphone Sockets.

By the way; don't forget that your external microphone to which you connect to the laptop is ok

  • Chromebook 14: 14 Chromebook accepts more power

    Hello

I bought a Factory reconditioned Chromebook 14 several months (24/03/2016).  Today, I plugged the chromebook for a bit of extra power (battery to 64% at the time). I noticed that the charge indicator on the battery icon in the lower right corner of the screen comes on.  Then I unplugged the power cord and plugged in. The indicator light on the side of the chromebook (next to the electric cannon) is a turn on.  After moving the cable of load at 3 different points of sale in the House (which have been confirmed working by other devices with the help of power), I determined that the problem is indeed with the Chromebook (or the power cable).  At this point, the battery is still around 60% and I chromebook turned off where the diagnostic data are needed.

Other forums, I looked through so far have asked for the release of crosh on a battery test, I ran. The output is below:

Welcome to crosh, the developers of Google Chrome OS shell.

If you got here by mistake, don't panic!  Just close this tab and operate.

Enter 'help' for a list of commands.

    Battery of 0.69% in 300 second (s).
    crosh >

Please help.  I don't know if it's the charging cable, or the chromebook himself.  The battery seems fine. It just seems to be a problem with the entrance of power between the wall and the machine itself.

Here's the whole problem, end-to-end.  I spoke to a Google Chromebook support Member who accompanied me through a hard reset-both with the power cable connected and without. This term did nothing. They me transferred to HP support. He checked that I didn't have another device to test the power cable, or another power cable to test the powered chromebook.

While on the phone, we talked about how this was a buy refurbished with a 90 day warranty, and given that it was day 91 (Yes, the problem started the day after the expiry of the 90 day warranty), I had 2 options - pay $43 plus taxes and delivery for a new power cable , or pay $229 to send in the chromebook for maintenance.

At that point, I decided I think about my options and call later with a decision.  In the meantime, I went and read amazon.com for power cable options and came across this:

    https://www.Amazon.com/replacement-adapter-Chromebook-laptop-computer/DP/B00IZQSP8K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1467039372&SR=8-2&keywords=Chromebook+14+power+cord

It came in the mail yesterday, and I was able to verify that it works with my chromebook (model 14-q039wm) and load the chromebook very well indeed.  My problem has been resolved with a new feeder from amazon for $15.99 + shipping costs.

  • Sony Vaio-how disable built in microphone and start built in camera

Problems with microphone and camera after Windows 7 upgrade.

Since the upgrade to Windows 7 on my Sony Vaio, I can't turn off microphone, or turn on my built in camera. Does anyone have an idea how I can solve these two issues?

    Hello

    1. have you installed the audio drivers after the upgrade to Windows 7?
    2. what happens when you try to use the webcam?

    Method 1.
If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.
Refer to the article below for the procedure:
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter

    Method 2.
I also ask you to install the latest drivers for your laptop from the Sony site and check.
For more information see the links below:
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    I hope this helps.

Does anyone know how to disable the security...

    * monitor on my speakers even when I uninstalled all the sounddrivers! ... * it seems to be a bios problem... HEEEEELP!

    Hi leon-k,.

Usually, you can cut the speakers in the Windows sound settings. Go to control panel > hardware and sound > sound.

Now, choose the recording tab as Akuma written and click Properties > listen. On this tab, you can change the volume and disable the microphone set.

  • How to easily turn on/off the Microphone on the Satellite A350-13 has?

    1. real Tek HD audio

    2. When you use the computer in the classroom to play with the sound from a video clip... I would get a significant background noise.
I was told that my built-in mic picked up his... then I had to disable the microphone. I did this and got rid of his background...

    3. it seems that by turning off the microphone, that when I try to turn on the microphone in the under levels and speakers Control Panel... I do not get the microphone back... and so cannot use the internal MIC for Skype.

I need to reinstall something every time I turn the microphone off? Because no, it does not recognize that I have a microphone in the tek box icon from the control panel.

A second problem is that even when I don't mean to reproduce the sound of anywhere, or even when Skype is not enabled... I get something like static spraying load every minute or so...

    Questions are...

    1. how to activate easily and hell... both internal and external microphone and the microphone jack on the front?

    2. how to stop this recurring static noise of sputterng?

    Thank you

    Ayman

Click with the right button of the mouse on the speaker symbol in the task list and choose the recording devices.
In the list, it must be Microphone and click with the right button of the mouse and choose the option Disable.
I hope that the microphone is disabled. Even you can do with FrontMic if you do not find what are listed there.
I use Skype every day and play the video clips but never noticed any kind of problems with sound or background noise.

Second problem is not understandable for me and I can't tell you anything on this subject.
Maybe if I could have your laptop in front of me to hear exactly what is happening.

How to turn off the microphone for sony hdr-pj260v

    Hi dstrakal,

Option to disable the built-in microphone is not available in the camcorder. However, the camcorder has an input jack to connect an external microphone, there are two possible solutions for this:

    1. Connect a microphone with a switch ON / OFF the microphone on the camcorder decision-making. Then, set the switch to the external microphone to the OFF position. This will disable the microphone on the camcorder.

    2. Connect a dummy stereo mini plug to the microphone on the camcorder Jack.

    Hi all

Ralph has opened a case with TAC and arrived at webex. It's just to let everyone know that we were able to solve the problem. Just to convey information. That's what we were doing on the webex session:

Indeed, we found tha the microphones were shut off as soon as we have disconnected from the call. We checked the following things:

xConfiguration conference 1 AutoAnswer Mute: Off

xConfiguration MicUnmuteOnDisconnect Mode 1 Conference: on

    xConfiguration Provisioning Mode: TMS

We turned off the MicUnmuteOnDisconnect first and the problem still persists. We have then canceled endpoint of the TMS suspecting that configuration could come from the TMS and checked by calling again. Hoewver, the microphones were always switch off to end the call.

Finally, we checked the parameters of MuteOnInactiveVideo:

xConfiguration Audio input Microphone 1 VideoAssociation MuteOnInactiveVideo: on

xConfiguration Audio input Microphone 2 VideoAssociation MuteOnInactiveVideo: on

We shot both of them off and the problem was solved. Ralph, please check this question as answered so that others can enjoy.

    Kind regards
