Civilization IV will not install on my new laptop Windows 7. Please help.__Install Wizard starts initialization, but before he could finish I get an error message.

I insert the disc.

AutoPlay appears. I run the install. As InstallShield initializes, it gets most of the way, but always stopped with the error:

Sid meier IV civilization is not installed properly. Please re - install, then repeat installation of Civilization IV.

I don't understand why I get this error when nothing has been installed - the wizard has not yet opened.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

I found my problem. I bought the game second hand and have discovered that the disc is the expansion not the game itself.
