Clarification of the DRS

A clarification of the fast, if you don't mind.

I have 3 groups of resources hung off root: high, normal, or low. There are 2 virtual machines within the high, 2 in the bottom and the rest are in normal.

Each of the groups of resources have their limits and extensible settings the value 'Unlimited' and 'Yes' respectively. Is it the same as that of all virtual machines in the Normal group? i.e.There is without real time resource to go because whenever a group needs more resources, it is just what he needs of the parent (until, in the case of memory that the virtual machine has defined within its own parameters).

Thanks for your comments.

It is effectively the same as that of all virtual machines in the resource pool root, unless you set actions on subordinate resource pools.

i.e.There is without real time resource to go because whenever a group needs more resources, it is just what he needs of the parent (until, in the case of memory that the virtual machine has defined within its own parameters).

There are ALWAYS resources planning going on! By defining "Unlimited" and "Expandable Reservation" you prevent resources covering before complete depletion of the system.

Thanks for your comments.

You are welcome!

  • Seeking clarification on the SFD in AKM Brushless Servo Drives

    Dear members,

I'm looking for clarification on the smart feedback device (SFD) installed in the series of servomotors AKM. There is little information available on this subject in the specifications. It appeared that it offers a very high resolution, information on the position of the rotor high precision signals.

    1. how exactly is the PCG provides the position of the rotor?

    2. is there a provision to contract low resolution effect Hall of EPD type feedback?

    Thank you.

    Ansari07

    Hi Ansari07,

I don't think that this level of control is possible with the AKD. The reader is supposed to close its own current loop on board for the control of switching and outputs of phase. The AKD offer couple, speed or modes of control position, and you can talk to it by Ethernet on the service port, via a field such as EtherCAT or CANOpen bus, or with an analogue signal +-10V or step/dir commands.

I don't think you can get around all of the internal firmware in the AKD and get direct control of how current passes through the phases.

    Best regards

    Hi support them.

Recently, we bought a new HP Laserhet MFO M126nw Pro. The cartridge came with the new printer. I need a clarification of the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M126nw on the usage Page.

We want to know how many pages that the printer has taken so far, printing and also how many pages is analysed and the copier took how many pages.

I have attached the report using page for your reference.

    Please specify the things below.

Pages for the scanned copy = 65

I think he has counted only scanned copies 65.le is okay?

    2. What is Monochrome pages printed from copy = 66

    3. What is pages scanned host = 86

    4. print engine:

    1. total Impressions showing 829.

Overall, I think it's showing printing, copier, 580 the scanned pages. Is this OK.

    2. What is jam events?

    It's showing 1.

    3. What is EconoMode Impressions?

    showing 0.

    4. What is monochrome prints?

    showing that 829

Need to clarify the details above for my knowledge.

    Your support is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Concerning

    R.Pradeep

the digital and print values are different.

pages scanned copy 65 - this means that 65 pages have been executed by the scanner with someone using the copy function. the report shows 66 printed pages 'copy' which means 64 of these copies were only a single copy and 1 scan someone made 2 copies - which gives you a total of 66 pages printed from the copy function.

pages scanned to accommodate 86 = that means 86 pages were executed by the scanner with a person who uses the "scan to network folder" or "scan to computer" function

That's a total of total of 151 pages run through your scanner. only 2 values that you add to the scanner are the "copy" and «scan to host» numbers copy of 65 + 86 scan-to-host ='s 151 total scans

total impressions are 829. pages printed from copy fuction are 66 - if you subtract 66 829 that gives you the number of pages that have been printed from a computer = 763

763 pages printed computer + 66 pages printed using the copy function = 829 total number of pages printed

  • Clarification of the policy of startup SAN

I would like clarification on the policy of SAN Boot. I was always under the impression that you were supposed to use the storage port WWPN. But what happens if you have many ports of storage from the table (16 for example), this is not possible.

The purpose of this policy is to simply force the HBA to open a session in the SAN fabric?

If Yes, can I use one of my real picture or just make one, correct?

Since all zoning is done by the SAN switch (Brocade/MDS/Nexus) and LUN masking to the level of the table, I think putting the real WWPN to a storage port is not necessary.

    Thanks for any clarification.

Yes, a 'false' WWPN will work and they connect to the SAN infrastructure... Photos attached show 2 ways to do this... However, if you install Windows 2012/Hyper-V, I suggest using WWPN valid because it seems not to be able to manage multiple ESX possible access paths when you first install...

  • Script to check the DRS VM groups?

    Hello guys,.

I want to know if you could give me an idea on how to check the DRS of VM groups on my cluster.

DRS group are created with a shared identifier that is common on the VM too. For example: VMS DRS group R125 must include each VM name "R125" is included (such as VM-R125-001).

First of all, I would like to work on a script that will be able to detect if certain VM are not in their groups of DRS corresponding VM (by listing for example) and later add an e-mail notification if possible.

I would like to know if you could give me some advice on how to run this script, what cmdlet should I use, etc.

    Thank you very much

    Kind regards

    Benedict.

EDIT: VM DRS group and not of DRS rules

    Try like this

    Import-Module DRSRule

    #

    # Specifications cluster

    $cluster1 = "ClusterName".

    $cluster = get-Cluster-name $cluster1

    #

    #for each customer ID.

    foreach ($Group in (Get-DrsVMGroup-Cluster $cluster))

    {

    # Get all the virtual machines that match the groupID

    $vms = get-VM-name 'vm-$($Group.Name)-01"- location $cluster | Select name

    # Compare 2 results

    $result = compare-Object - referenceobject $Group.VM - DifferenceObject $vms

  • Create the DRS group for guests in 2 groups

Because of the Microsoft SQL license by the basic model, we need to create groups of DRS for our SQL servers. We have 8 guests, but need to run the SQL VMs on host 2

We are in the process of migrating to ESX 4.0 to ESXi5.5. We already have the server vCenter 5.5

We do not have the configuration of ESXi 5.5 hosts yet, so we need to create the DRS groups on the host of 4.0. MS will not wait for us to migrate first.

We have two clusters (2 external data center). Each with 4 servers esx 4.0. Simple question:

DRS group cannot be created in a cluster? Can I create DRS groups at the level of the data center. Use a host in Cluster1 and a second in cluster2.

    Thank you

DRS group cannot be created in a cluster? Can I create DRS groups at the level of the data center. Use a host in Cluster1 and a second in cluster2.

DRS groups cannot be created in a single cluster and not those of clusters. Nothing else would make no sense in any case. DRS groups are to be limited by the DRS and DRS automatic migrations is only a process of entire cluster in the first place. So what would be the point of a single 'group DRS' through consolidation?

But of course, you can create two distinct groups of DRS 2 separate clusters.

  • Change the PowerCLI Script to use the DRS and DRS storage

    Hello

I have a PowerCLI script that specifies a host and a data store to create a new virtual machine, which has served us well. Now we have activated the DRS and DRS storage and I wonder what to change in order to take advantage of these features. Are there commands to specify a cluster and the cluster data store and let the DRS to decide the initial investment for a new virtual machine? At the moment we put all hosts and the warehouses of data as variables and use them in the line below.

    Thank you.

    $newVM = New-VM-name $NewVMname - VM $TemplateName Datastore - $datastore - VMHost $vHost - confirm: $false - location $myName

    You set a Datastorecluster?

If Yes, then you can replace the value of parameter data with the datastorecluster object store.

Replacing a VMHost with a cluster is not taken in charge I'm afraid.

But you can use something like this

    New-VM-name TestVM Datastore - DSC - ResourcePool (Get-Cluster-name mycluster |) Get - Resourcepool - name of resources)

This will automatically select the VMHost.

The virtual machine appears in the root of the cluster.

DSC is the name of a datastorecluster in the cluster mycluster

  • Manual VMotion circumvents the rules of the DRS anti-Affinity

    Hello

just a really Basic... I know DRS rests on the idea that he leans on the cluster and then resources place virtual machines... BUT, if you configure a rule anti-xxx to say VM1 cannot be kept the same host that VM2 - can I still manually vMotion VM1 to the same host only a VM02 on?

OK... Let me rephrase that. After having just... I asked myself why I cannot vmotion 2 virtual machines to be on the same host, even if there is an anti-home rule?

My hypothesis is one of the following:

    1. I have not configured the anti-home rule correctly, or

2 DRS is a retrospective resource, monitoring tool. so he will ignore my action, but when it checks the environment, it will then search the vm 2 is on the same host and then applies the rule of the anti-xxx.

Let me know that if you can...

    Thank you

    Aaron

Welcome to the community - Yes, you can manually vmotion a virtual machine that would violate the rule of the affinity of the DRS but if you DRS in partially or entirely automatice mode it will vmotion virtual machine don't not to violate the anti-home rule.

  • Grabbing the DRS power on the recommendations in Java

    Greetings,

I tried to get the DRS Recommendations to turn a virtual computer by using the 'PowerOnMultiVM_Task' method, but he always comes back to a ManagedObjectReference to a 'mission' and not of the "ClusterPowerOnVMResult" object I need.  The software development kit reference guide claims that the method should return together somehow.  I do power over the operation via the vSphere client and recommendations appear very well, but for the same power on exploitation through my code, but also the managed object Broswer, the recommendations nor the "ClusterPowerOnVMResult" appear in both.

  • Question on the affinity of the DRS Host 'should' pronounce

    Hello experts,

When using a rule "should work", VMs can run on a host computer to a host no specific DRS group.

I would like to know under what condition VMs running on a host unspecified DRS group.

I checked the following document, but this is not to say about the State:

    Welcome to the community,

DRS, DPM, and HA is a complex topic and there are many things that are taken into calculation. (Preferential) rules 'should', can be violated by the DRS if necessary and they could also be violated by HA, because HA is not aware of these rules. If the DRS is defined in the lower priority 2 it will correct these HA based violations if possible.

For very detailed information on this complex (and interesting) topic, I can really recommend "vSphere 5.0 Clustering technique deepdive ' by Duncan Epping and Frank Denneman.

  • Configuration of the DRS

I have 2 gates with leaves of 4 HP running VMware vSphere 4.1 update 1 in each basket. 8 guests are in a cluster DRS with level "fully automated". Currently the DRS will move VMS between hosts of potentially exploitable resources. For most of my virtual machines, that is what I want. However, I have 3 VM who were queuing to not pass one grid to another. Can run on any of the 4 hosts in the basket, they should not move to 4 guests in another basket. How can I set DRS to attach a virtual computer to a host group?

You can create a rule for that DRS.  Here are the steps.

Change the settings for the DRS cluster and then:
    (1) on the DRS Group Manager screen to create a new host DRS group with the hosts running on the virtual machine and a new group of DRS VM containing virtual machines.
    (2) on the screen of rules create Virtual Machines a new rule host.  Select the VM group and the host and the option "must run on hosts in a group.

What happens when try you it? Is it produces the results you want?

Whenever you have any questions, post a small example of data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements) and the results desired from these data. Explain how you get these results from these data.
Always tell what version of oracle you are using.
    See the FAQ forum {message identifier: = 9360002}

Why the SELECT clause includes only NULL? Is that going to serve as an EXISTS subquery? If so, why bother to make the outer joins, and why do you care if it is a Cartesian product? What is the query to go for?
For the purposes of debugging, you can include something that you see in the SELECT clause.

  • VStorage tie in with the DRS feature?

I wonder if vStorage works with DRS where if fills a volume, it will automatically move VMs and storage to another volume with more space.

It has been discussed at VMworld this may be the case that i/o to storage can be looked at for the migration of DRS, but today the DRS only takes into account cpu/memory.
