Classic BlackBerry very basic (?) stupid question

I don't yet have a classic BlackBerry and I understand that it works with GSM, and that neither AT & T nor Verizon carriers nor any other major carrier supports again.  So if I buy a classic BlackBerry now, it means that I already have a cell phone to work with a carrier such as AT & T MOBILE and I need to get the SIM card to connect to the BlackBerry?  And I expect that it works?  Thank you.

BlackBerry works in all the usual is GSM, 3G and LTE networks. All you need is a the operator's standard data plan you.

    Hello

    I am writing some ExtendScript to do some tasks fairly banal export and, so far, it makes a lot of sense... but...

    I keep on having spend loads of time googling for names of constant classes with the relevant presets.

    Y at - it a correct, indexed and searchable reference of InDesign scripting library, somewhere? PLEASE, I BEG YOU!

    Where everyone was as frustrated by what I was, and I know that this exposes my ignorance but...

    1. in ExtendScript, F1 to open help.

    2. Select the product you are developing against in the help panel.

    3. Google what you want to do and, if you're lucky, you will find an object type or method name for try the search against

    (4 use the search help and I hope to whatever you hold dear that has you) corresponds to something useful and b) do not match too (both cases will cause absolutely no useful data)

    This will give you some (but very basic) syntax searchable guides... Buyer beware...

    Syntax guides do not, for example, distinguish (or provide details of) the difference between the IDS server or Office IDS and method signatures are different...

    Incomplete, awkward and a little difficult to use, but at least it is the documentation...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Bluetooth stupid Question

    Is it possible to connect up to two different bluetooth with Blackberry Storm accessories by v. 5 OS?

    It's logical, but no, that won't work.

    If you listen to the music of the device > Motorola T505 FM transmitter, then you call will be placed there also.

  • Very basic noob question on the foundations of the class

    I'm looking at this line of code:

    import flash.display. MovieClip;

    and realized that I have not seen anything else used instead of the word Flash in these lines. It made me wonder what it means. Are there any other alternatives? If so, what would it be? If not, why it should be included all the time when it is obviously the only choice?

    Sorry for noobish but question if there must be a quick explanation I really appreciate it.

    Thank you.

    This is the path to the class MovieClip (relative to the default path).  and Yes, there are other initial paths like fl (check the videoevent class).

  • BlackBerry smartphones another stupid question about browsers...

    Okay, I just clicked on a link in an email that took me to a Web site.  I didn't in fact I could watch websites on my BB, but clearly I can't.  However, if the link is not in an email... where to type the web address?

    After you open your browser, press the menu key and select "go to...". ». You can enter an address there.

  • Very basic variable question

    I can get my way around Javascript and PHP, but simple things in AS3 stump me.

    The following code works fine:

    slideIn();

    function slideIn (): void

    {

    var myTween:Tween = new Tween(_root.content_txt1,"y",Strong.easeOut,-150,5,3,true);

    }

    I want to reuse the function of the different elements by inserting a (num) argument into the function. The trace function shows me that the variable has the correct value. However, interpolation analysis the variable 'point '. It looks for an element named "item", which results in an error.

    slideIn (1);

    the function slideIn (num): void

    {

    var point = "_root.content_txt" + num;

    trace (Item);

    var myTween:Tween = new Tween(item,"y",Strong.easeOut,-150,5,3,true);

    }

    Thank you.

    Right, because the element is a string and strings do not have a property y. just because you do not type the variable element does not mean that Flash does not know that it is a string.

    You must use array notation to get the object inside the movieclip eric.

    var point: TextField = eric ["content_txt" + num];

    You may also expressed as follows:

    var item: TextField = TextField (eric ["content_txt" + num]);

    Or if you plan to use it on various different display objects:

    var item: DisplayObject = DisplayObject (eric ["content_txt" + num]);

  • Very basic XML question

    I am currently using two tables to load a sequence of videos in 2 areas of the Flash animation.

    var zoneAarray:Array = new Array ("movie1.mp4", "movie2.mp4", "movie3.mp4");

    var zoneBarray:Array = new Array ("movie4.mp4", "movie5.mp4", "movie6.mp4");

    var clipA:String = zoneAarray [0];

    var clipNumberA:int = 0;

    var clipTotalA:int = zoneAarray.length-1;

    var clipB:String = zoneBarray [0];

    var clipNumberB:int = 0;

    var clipTotalB:int = zoneBarray.length-1;

    Everything works fine, but I would like to import the list of videos from an XML file instead of hard-coding it in Flash.
    TIA,-Eric

  • Very basic table question

    The following code traces:
    Origin = 1, 2, 3
    New = 1, 2
    Origin = 1, 2
    New = 1
    Origin = 1
    New =
    How is it possible that the value of the firstArray table for change?

    A little more in detail; If you use Boolean, String, int, uint, or number, when you assign a variable to another, it makes a copy of the value. For other things, like tables, custom objects, objects, etc., like to gsb said, simply a pointer or a reference to the original object so everything you "copy" actually is on the original. Search for 'cloning tables' in the Flex help.

  • Very stupid question of blackBerry Smartphones A

    I'm sorry to bother you with what I am certain is a very stupid question.  I promise you that I am in fact quite irritable, but this very simple thing has running me around in circles for more than an hour now.  I went through all the videos of tech support that I can find and I can't find one online anywhere to solve what is surely a simple problem.

    I bought a Curve 8310 this morning and is to sign up through Straight Talk.

    Unfortunately, the #& * ^ @ thing won't let me accept the contract of Blackberry Solution license.  No matter what I do, it keeps taking me back to the agreement.  I tried:

    1. enter everything right.

    2 prescription until "I agree" is in white (leaving "I do not accept" in blue)

    3 space limitation until the "I agree" is blue (leaving "I do not accept" white)

    4 space requirement until the two "I agree" and "I do not accept" are white.

    In these four cases, when I lorsque je tape hit enter, it brings back me to the license agreement. There is no other options given.

    It's obviously culture of the box, because I couldn't any changes made to the settings if I wanted to. How to proceed?

    Try doing a battery pull. Let it reboot and see if the problem is still their. If the problem is still their after restarting, I think you should try to get a replacement.

  • Questions classic blackBerry Blackberry Classic compared to the features and functions of the Bold 9900

    I am extremely satisfied with the functionality of my Blackberry Bold 9900 and yet I am fun the idea of upgrading to a classic Blackberry and had a few questions, some of them functional, but one of them is technical:

    (1) I have granularily configured different contacts to the ring through "silent" while some people may sound through if I'm having a NAP or sleep. The classic allows you granularily configure the option of 'ring through' on a manually configured silent mode?

    (2) can the classic surely go to sleep and wake up one day of week / weekend schedule? My current phone doesn't sleep at midnight and wake up at 06:00 every night of the week and 02:00 to 09:00 on weekends.

    (3) back in the day of Blackberry older had a view "of today" where you could see the incoming email and tasks on the main screen. I couldn't get that with my Bold 9900, but I found this interesting app called BePopup which jumps to the top of my texts and emails on the screen as they come, without touching a button. Can you get automatically posted emails or texts with that with the classic?

    (4) the Blackberry plan I have with my provider uses the platform communications for my Blackberry RIM and so my e-mails are immediate, arriving minutes always quicker than other CC (iPhone and Android users) distribution lists. That being said, is the new classic uses what platform these other phones use for messaging connectivity?

    Any feedback regarding these essential functions would be greatly appreciated as it will help me in my decision. I am very happy with my 9900 and have little reason to upgrade... unless all of these options are available.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones has BB for less than 24 hours... some (stupid) questions!

    Hi all

    I looked through some tips and read the summary instructions (at best) that came with my BB and now have a few questions, if that's ok:

    1. I downloaded the "favorite" of Facebook, but I don't know where that is?  I thought this would be an icon, I could then add to the home screen?  If it IS, then how can I find and to do this?

    2. is it possible to add my iTunes Catalog, or a part of it, to my BB - are compatible somehow?

    3. how to choose something other than the horrible Vodafone home page, to be my homepage on the internet?

    5. What is the difference between "browser" icon and the icon "WAP"?  Am I meant to go through one preference to another, because in the end, they both make the same thing?

    6 represents the number of pins only to give BB 'friends', so we can chat on messenger, or there are homonyms?

    Again, sorry for the stupid question; I'm really proud of the implementation so far without any help from the husband, but having my llimitations, lol - it's a world apart form the Nokias I've owned exclusively for the past 13 years... but I think I love her!

    Thank you

    L x

    1. I don't know about a 'bookmark', unless you try to bookmark a place in your web browser? You can download and install the Facebook for BlackBerry application.

    Use the browser of your BlackBerry to access www.blackberry.com/facebook

    2. Yes, use of BlackBerry MediaSync software...

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/media/mediasync.jsp

    iTunes with DRM will not transfer, DRM coding should be removed first of all files.

    3. open the browser to the page that you are going to choose as your home page, and then press the Menu key > Options > browser Configuration > scroll down > address Home Page > use current Page

    5. I would like to use the browser icon. WAP icon uses the data of your service provider's WAP service.

    6. the PIN identifies your device to the network and is, so to speak, "Digital ID" in your devide.

    And Yes, your use of the primary AXIS will invite friends with BlackBerrys chatter on BBMessenger.

    You would benefit from reading and practice of 9700 (very similar) my friend Mr. Stinsonddog PIL.
    Look at this link for them, download and print the PDF file and practice the tips using your device. You will be amazed at all the cool things that your BlackBerry can do.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Basic Question backup - how to respond to the choices on BlackBerry?

    When I plug the USB cable into my "BOLD" and it connects to my PC, I get a box of dialogue on the "BOLD" that says "Blackberry is plugged" and he gives me three choices: 1. USB Drive 2. The Media Sync or Charge only 3.  I have never known to choose because I want to do is to back up my BlackBerry with Desktop Manager, so I usually just ignore the dialog box.

    That is what I'm supposed to do?  Or choose one of the three choices each time?

    Sorry for the stupid question - but I never knew how to deal with this.  I have a Bold 9900 running 7.1.0.284 and Office Manager 6.1.0.36.

    In fact, it is not really important, but it works.

  • Entities does not Contribution - very basic question

    Hi guys,.

    My apologies for this very basic question: I am very new to Hyperion, with just one week of training! Anyway, I'm building a basic model and have noticed that my features are not in the dimension value roll altogether the [Contribution]. This means that entities do not roll upwards!

    It was suggested that problem was that I needed a Sub consolidate in the rules, but I put the attribute 'ConsolidationRules' = n. In the documentation it is defined as "N to use the consolidation by default and eliminations".

    I was wondering is there anything else that is needed to use default groups, or do I need to create rules?

    Thank you
    G

    Why do you think that's not driving? If your building rules are set to "n" you don't need rules.

    Make sure that your presentation was made to IsConsoldiate. Make sure that you're displaying a "Parent.Child" to total Contribution.

  • Very stupid question... but :-)

    Hello

    I'm from Lightroom and LUA, sorry for this stupid question but I can't find the answer... I have a headache...

    I don't understand this kind of definition:

    LOC = ' $$$ / Flickr / ExportDialog / nologin = you have not connected to the Flickr yet. "

    The specific LUA or Lightroom? Why LOC, why $$$

    You have a link to the documentation it is tonight, I'm less stupid?

    Thank you, thank you, thank you

    Cadret

    Cadret,

    I've always found this area a bit confused, but then again, I would never write a program for me to integrate several languages (which is believe is his main goal even if it has other uses).

    Start with page 145 of the LR3 manual and see if that gets you started.
