Windows 7 Starter Edition is made for netbooks. This machines need to be cheap, and as you know all systems is always part of the price. Manufacturers want to win and it's normal. That's why Microsoft Starter version for businesses and gave in this version also of things as it may be.

    Hello

I paid $80 for delivery the next day on a flash for my laptop Acer eRecovery.   And when I pasted into my USB a mistake came about 5 minutes in the process, saying: "M:\NAPP.dat is Miss.".   I can't complete the process of resetting my computer laptop back to factory settings.  I'm in Windows 8.

How can I get this error and get things on my work laptop once more?

    Thanks in advance.

I think it was a combination of failover to the legacy access to the hard drive and using an old recovery flash drive to format completely with Iso in one other usb hub to finally allow the new usb acer create records of M and N necessary for the new installation. Thank you

  • Windows media player 11 for vista full dysfunction on cd burn?

the Windows media player 11 for vista 64 holiday won't let me burn a blank cd media file at 192 kilobits per second (highest quality with songs less) it starts to burn and then cancels the entire drive and ruins it, now you mind, at the lowest kilobytes / option dry it will burn the cd with songs more but at the lowest quality which means that the disc is not very good in any case please help! Joe

    Hello

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    ===========================================

This troubleshooting could not help if there is alignment and/or wear issues however it
    a shot.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

  • I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook. (No DVD player). From the start on the hard drive, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.

I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook.  (No DVD player).  From the start on the hard drive, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.  The cursor does not type.  For me, maybe I need to reinstall windows 7 and startup tasks are corrupt.  I have my product key genuine for the computer, but no way to get to windows.  How to restore windows on a netbook that won't start?

original title: Netbook Windows 7 problem

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

Borrow a 32 bit Genuine Windows 7 friends DVD disc if you know someone who has one.

Make an image of the DVD, you can use a program like ISO Recorder to do.
    http://alexfeinman.com/

If you don't have a Windows 7 DVD to borrow, try to upload a picture:

    32 bit
    http://MSFT-DNL.digitalrivercontent.NET/msvista/pub/X15-65732/X15-65732.ISO

You change the content of the. ISO file and delete the ei.cfg file. After having edited burn it to a blank DVD disc or put it on a USB key. Startup, it will reveal all editions of Windows 7, select the Starter edition. More information in the following article on how to change the file ei.cfg

Utility delete EI.cfg allows you to use a product key
    http://Lifehacker.com/#%215438005/eicfg-removal-utility-lets-you-use-any-product-key-with-your-Windows-7-disc

You can create a bootable USB stick with the following:
    Download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool
    http://store.Microsoft.com/help/ISO-tool

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

Enter the product key (this is the key of Windows 7 Starter, which would be located on the COA sticker at the bottom of your laptop)

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

They will give a confirmation ID, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

Once activation is complete, enjoy yourself, make a backup of your installation of Windows 7 Starter please? You will need to do this an external hard drive, but its worth it. Because if your installation is messed up, all you have to do is to restore from a backup.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

Once the backup is complete, you can do an upgrade to Windows 7 Professional by using the product key that you have, if it's a full key, Windows 7 Professional Anytime Upgrade retail or upgrade license key.

Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, follow the on-screen Wizard, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next and restart your computer when you are prompted. Less than 10 minutes, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional and your files and settings retained.

Reactivate the installation, you may also do it by phone:
    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

  • Acer eRecovery, what to do?

After a sudden BIOS reset (unknown cause) Windows 7 did not start more. Replacing the CMOS battery did not help. The "BOOTMGR is missing" message is persistent. Reinstallation of the operating system did not work with my Acer eRecovery dvd. I get the message there is not enough space for the temporary files needed. I see this 0.1 GB partition at the start of the wizard Creation of Partition. That's what I see:
    Disc 1. Used unused capacity
    13 GB GB 9,22 PQSERVICE 3.78 GB
    ACER 100 MB 9.73 MB 90,22 MB
    Acer 225.95 92.8 MB 225.86 GB
    226,71 GB GB 103,1 123,61 GB DATA

I formatted the third partition (Acer), but Acer eRecovery always gives the same error of not enough disk space.
What should I do? I really really not delete my DATA partition. Can I remove other partitions, including the hidden PQSERVICE partition?

Please help me, I'm already spend days on it and contact the Acer Support myself doesn't help either...

I think that since you have c and d volume, you can keep d volume but delete everying else.  Your D is more a partition... that is a volume.

But I'm not too good sense when it comes to disk management... the partitions, volumes and others, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you have important data on your volume D:, then maybe use some data recovery software if you are not sure.  You must remove the drive and put it in a USB enclosure, or something.

  • Media Center is planning a record but didn't and defer to a later date.

Windows XP Media Center 2005 has been in place. 1st symptom was that it would block when calling my TV (usually just sitting on my TV).  Sometimes, he reached the following menu, but will not charge recorded TV or records on demand (just sitting with 'circle' symbol circling).  Discovered that sometimes if I end task through the Task Manager and restart and then not choose my TV but using the shortcut for Live TV I can sometimes get Live TV, sometimes it crashes with 'circle' symbol encircling.  Pointed out that memory almost full (indication AnVir Task Manager).

After reboot, all usually (not always) is clear and that is running. with Media Center.  After reboot, I sometimes have a monitor that is not turn off as it is supposed to (hard drives are supposed to be off, but I haven't checked that)-requires a reset forever and at 10 min., working for the monitor, but still does not go on standby after 15 minutes.

All the foregoing is symptomatic with Media Center (usually) works after the restart.  Media Center records sometimes and sometimes does not.  When it does not usually record it defers to a later date, if available, otherwise no recording until then is a guide and it as if by magic reappears, postponed.

The second tuner (usually used for recording) records while TV Live is on but if scheduled recording is not as long as Media Center is running she sometimes record and this is sometimes not.

  • Question about Acer eRecovery USB key

    Hi friends Acer,

    I need your helping hands.

I wanted to make sure IF I order Acer eRecovery USB key for my UltraBook S7-391 and he's going to recover my system back to factory with the original score of 3 (2 were hidden)? Even if I deleted my hard drive completely and turn it into single partition?

    My 2nd question:

If I decide to reinstall the Windows original 8 64-bit, including the given factory Application & drivers in my ONLY hard disk partition - would it be also possible and NOT necessarily make 3 with Acer recovery partition in one of the hidden partition?

I knew that this is an easy question for you BUT have you tried and confirmed before? Thank you very much for your kind advice!

Both questions can be answered, Yes.

The system recovery to factory default charge as close as possible, including the hidden partition.

However, it is something that you can change if you decide to do and to load only the operating system on a single partition.

Please keep in mind that Windows will make a 100MB system reserved partition and this can not be avoided.
