Question about Acer eRecovery USB key

Hi friends Acer,

I need your helping hands.

I wanted to make sure IF I order Acer eRecovery USB key for my UltraBook S7-391 and he's going to recover my system back to factory with the original score of 3 (2 were hidden)? Even if I deleted my hard drive completely and turn it into single partition?

My 2nd question:

If I decide to reinstall the Windows original 8 64-bit, including the given factory Application & drivers in my ONLY hard disk partition - would it be also possible and NOT necessarily make 3 with Acer recovery partition in one of the hidden partition?

I knew that this is an easy question for you BUT have you tried and confirmed before? Thank you very much for your kind advice!

Both questions can be answered, Yes.

The system recovery to factory default charge as close as possible, including the hidden partition.

However, it is something that you can change if you decide to do and to load only the operating system on a single partition.

Please keep in mind that Windows will make a 100MB system reserved partition and this can not be avoided.

  • Questions about Acer Recovery (long story, simple question)

    Hey there,

I recently came across a pretty annoying problem with my Acer Aspire 7560 notebook computer G. First of all, I hope this is the right section to ask the question on this model in particular, if this not is not please forgive me. In addition, for TL; DR scroll all the way down.

The issue I had was that programs would fail / refuse to start. Zune opening, steam or even just try to open a picture in Windows Photo Viewer either did nothing at all, or the program would look like it began only to then disappear completely (sometimes, but not often, accompanied by an error message saying that the program has stopped working). The laptop still start well, I can browse my directories, internet access, run certain programs, but not others (kkkkk emulator Android works very well, for example). I decided that the best thing for me to do was reset to the factory. Boy I was wrong.

I backed up all my personal files on an external hard drive, so the laptop is ready to be reset. First problem I encountered was that do anything during startup caused me a BIOS password. I did not create one, so it must be the default, and it wasn't really all that difficult to get rid (I used a bootable USB key with clnpwd, just follow the instructions). Then I entered the BIOS, but whenever I get alt + f10 to work and load the Recovery Manager, invites a message indicating that I have to wait for the operating system to load. After that start the laptop, and nothing changes.

I discovered that I probably haven't installed Acer eRecovery utility, because I had to replace a HARD drive defective just now. If at this point, I tried to not get these files to http://us-store.acer.com/erecovery/rcd/ no chance. When you enter SNID or show, it always returns "we have found the serial number entered. Uppercase or lowercase do not make a difference. I'm sure that number I entered is correct, however, because when I use it to search in http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers it is my laptop model immediately. So, what gives? I'm not sure.

If I can't get the support of Acer recovery soon, I might have to resort to completely reinstall my OS (Windows 7 Home Premium) for the device. Problem is that I don't have a disk for it. I thought to download an ISO and that copy on a bootable USB key, so I went Microsoft Web https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7 site I found the product key with a simple .vbs file, but alas, because the OS came preinstalled, which won't help me. At this point, I'm getting impossible to reacquire the Acer recovery as well as Microsoft methods. If this doesn't help, I might have to resort to some Windows 7 disc torrent download, but I'm not too happy with this prospect for obvious reasons. I don't even know if I could activate my product code, and I don't trust those "cracks".

    THUS,.

My question is: how to acquire Acer eRecovery media when they tell me "we have found the serial number entered. If that proved impossible, you know safely to reinstall my OS using my product key?

Thanks in advance, I hope I can get this mess sorted out.

Customer support was no help, in the end, they just referred me to a local retailer and gave me an estimate on the time and money it would take to get things resolved. Too long and too expensive, but that's just my opinion. I'll just go come and clean install my OS.

Found this mirror which has the ISO files archived: http://mirror.corenoc.de/digitalrivercontent.net/ I'll check the SHA-1 checksum, just to be sure, but they must be perfectly clean. With Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool?wa=wsignin1.0), I can create a bootable USB key, and after that, it's going to be all simply a matter of following the instructions.

A little muffed that I couldn't have this problem solved, but hey, I was counting on the factory reset anyway. I will get rid of all the bloatware and possible malware in a single shot in this way, then everything that works, right?

I downloaded everything from http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/drivers to my device (because, my SNID worked) for additional safety. ISO file is almost finished downloading, I'll probably do a last post here when all is set and done. That way, if anyone ever find this thread, they know that what might work.

Thanks for your efforts, but alas, they were of no use.

  • Questions about some of the keys on the keyboard

I have Windows 7 and some of the keys on the keyboard are unknown for me. I tried to get these stars, but I got about 30 different answers and didn't know we had the right answer.

    I have a Pavilion Elite HPE-450f

The symbols following, unknown to me at the moment are 'Fn' next to the 'Ctrl' key on botton left; a symbol of the Crescent Moon on the "F2" key a left double-arrow on the F5; a symbol unique arrow right/pause press the F6; right double stop on the F7 and an arrow symbol on the F8 key. These are the only ones that I have questions on.

Thanks in advance for your help.

While pressing the fn key, the arrow keys serve as common controls of media player.

  • Comples little question about the transfer product key

I have a HP (SR5518F) computer and origianally comes with vista, I downgraded to xp, but as time passed gradually began to fall so I decided to restore vista but found the restore partition has been broken, not wanting to pay 40 to 50 dollars for the restore disks I just went and borrowed a friends disc reformat It wasn't a full or upgrade, according to me, it was just a restore (a dell one because that's what it says in my computer).

and basically because of this I can not activate with its original product key, but I got an upgrade to windows 7 but I'm sure he checks for activation, it would be possible to activate and or upgrade with this situation?

You cannot use a Dell recovery disk on an HP computer.

Spend the money on the HP recovery disks:

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    Figure 4

And then my second question is how to enumerate all the shortcut keys assigned in the system of the device?

  • Ask questions about Windows 7 product key

I used windows 7 home basic OA SEA HP and now I lost the product key, you will find it for me? I have just the code: 584033-001. I hope to see it soon. Thanks best regurd Franck!

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

    ----------------

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • Re: Question about Windows 7 product key

After having some problems with my Satellite P500, I had to reformat my laptop.

Unfortunately however used the product key for windows 7, which is located on a sticker on my laptop and I can read is no longer to reinstall windows. Y at - it an is I can get it back?

Stand by. I understand that you want to reinstall Win7 but I put t understand your problem. I have the same model of laptop and find out how it works.

    Satellite P500 comes with pre-installed 64 bit Win7.
Original recovery image is saved on the HARD drive, or you can also create DVDs of recovery for the installation of the OS. When you use the recovery image for Win7 installation you n t need license key.

So I must ask you: you want to install the Toshiba recovery image or your own operating system installation using the Microsoft installation disc.

  • Questions about SD and USB running Vista on Satellite M40X

Well, I've updated my M40X to VISTA, if it is not mentioned on the list of allow.
Well, actually installed on a new formatted partition.
Runs smoothly, RAM is sufficient, component more slow seems to be the CPU, well, fair enough.

Obviously, I'm not able to get the card reader (chip SD card combo, xD,) or the USB ports running.
The two is listed in Device Manager, the USB hub and the customer of the sd. In addition, there are a storage device mass with a pilot error in the list.
Whenever I have insert well tested cards, USB HDs mp3 players or that it is in the slots the computer sometimes makes noise-ping but does not show any device in Solution Explorer or a new letter of the device.

I think it's some kind of driver issue, but found no solution. Not even after researching dayandnight on forums and other things.
Card reader is "Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Intergrated Flash Media Controller", as I understand it.
Well, I'd be more than happy and greatfull if someone could recommend a solution for these problems, pref with links to the drivers.
    Am really low.

    Hello

As you know, this laptop model is certainly not support Vista and Toshiba will design all the Vista drivers for this model of laptop. I can imagine that Vista works very well, but without the right drivers, it is not easy to use certain hardware components.

I recommend you to use Windows XP Home edition. WXP works great on this laptop. For all tests, you can install Vista on the second partition to see how it works. I think right after a few weeks remove you Vista and use WXP as before. ;)

  • Questions about the Image matte key

I'm quite confused on Overlay of Imageand would like to comment on these observations:

    1. When I apply a picture as a cache, it does not seem possible at first to determine what image I used as the matte. After that I applied a mast, can I know what image is used as the mast?
    2. I have a 1920 x 1080 in grayscale, image PSD which is used as cache. The central part of the matte is black, the rest is white. I checked the RGB values in the matte and they 0,0,0 or 255, 255, 255. In the effect of overlay of Image inside the first I composite using Luma Matteand marked to reverse. If I reverse the image in Photoshop so that the Blacks are going to white and vice versa, it makes no difference in the creation. The effect of the matte is the same. Why is this?
    3. If I apply the matte from 1920 x 1080 to an image inside the first superior at 1920 x 1080, the cache does not work. Is this normal? I can get the matte works with the larger image in a new sequence and then this sequence inside the original sequence of nesting, but I do not understand why it is necessary.

Any feedback is most appreciated. I use CS6.

    Guy,

Then, you should migrate to the masking effect Track Matte.  Formally, you import the matte in the project (traceable through the reveal in Finder/Explorer) and place on a track above the video in need of carpet.   The effect is placed on the clip (V1) and configured to play the matte on V2 etc.

  • Question about the upgrade to ESXi 4.1 and USB keys

Right now I'm under ESXi 4.1 from a USB key (ie. a very small USB key).

If I want to "start over" and use a newer USB for ESXi 5 but keep my intact, is guest operating systems - this possible?  (For example, if I install ESXi on a Virgin USB 5.0, will I be able to import my existing operating system vmx ESXi 4.1 images, etc.?)

In addition, what's the downside of ESXi 5 running from a USB?  I spin this in a laboratory at the House and have read that ESXi basically load into memory if you really start player ESXi itself is useless and a USB key is perfectly fine.  Is this true?

If you do not want re - configure ESXi 5.0, you can proceed as follows:

    1. Use free software, called "USB Image Tool 1.57" make a picture of your USB 4.1 - software available here http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/ .  This way you can restore it to any USB in the future.
    2. After making a backup of your USB 4.1 image, upgrade installation 4.1 to 5.0.
    3. Make a backup of your configuration of ESXi using the CLI vMA tool / vSphere in Windows with the following command: vicfg-cfgbackup-next - server
    4. The new installation of ESXi 5.0 on new USB
    5. VMA or vSphere CLI tool use in Windows with the following command to restore the backup from step 3 config: vicfg-cfgbackup-load - server
    6. You should now have ESXi 5.0 works on a new USB without any necessary configuration

Alternatively, you can restore the image USB created in step 1 on your old USB in order to have a 4.1 installation handy...

I recommend that make you a picture of your USB 5.0 USB as well just in case in the future USB fails.

  • Question about "Windows 8.1 DG to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit" and Windows product key

I have acquired a recnet ThinkPad T450 fdrom a retialer online (NCIX) and I hav ea a few questions about the installed Windows operating system.

Before I just go further, HRE are some information about my particular system.

    Lenovo ThinkPad T450

    Model: 20BV00BUS

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4300U

    RAM: 4 GB

Under the product description, it was stated "Windows 8.1 DG Windows 7 Pro 64." My understnading, the ThiknPad has been installed with Windows 8.1, but downgraded to Windows 7. There is also a Windows 8 Pro badge sticker at the bottom of the matchine.

Is it possible, at the end of the user/consumer, to alter the functioning ti repressive back Windows 8.1?

Can I create a recovery with Windows 8.1 disk?

A separate but related matter relates to the Windows product key.

I noticed the Ultrabook do not come with a sticker / label with the Windows product key (i.e. COST). Some quick research indicated that the Windows key is programmed into the BIOS.

This indeed true (I wish an audit)?

The key is visible in some way (for when you need to reinstall the operating system. I have not tried to enter the BIOS at the moment)?

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    Kind regards

    Victor L.

    Hi Victor,

I'm in the same boat as you type, but want to keep the facilities of Windows 7 rather than pass them to 8. Just like you, I buy our Lenovo from different retailers and they come with windows 7 installed through the Windows 8 lower upgrade program.

We had one or two laptops come with a recovery media (for windows 8/8.1 only) but have noticed that all laptops now come with no physical media or codes for the recovery. WIN8 stickers, you described is more came with the license key on the sticker (it comes to stop you using the same license again and again, microsoft will get more money if you buy another license etc.). I also saw that the key is essentially located in the BIOS but were not able to test what we use any of windows 8. I use it even at home!

To answer your question, you can get a recovery of Lenovo for Windows 8 media!

Go to the following link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovorecovery

(It help you understand why this method is used on this page as well)

    Select Start,

Please have your serial number of your laptop, (to find it go to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name)

If you qualify (which you will very probably) Lenovo will ship for free, recovery disks give it a go, took me 2 minutes.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Max.

  • Question about creating a recovery (file system) USB flash drive

Hello and happy new year to all, (I'm from greeece, sorry for the mistakes of language possible)

    (Pavilion dv6-6c01ev - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - bought 08-21-12)

I want to create a USB stick recovery, and I just bought a USB flash drive 32 GB 3.0 for this reason.

I've never done it before, but I have read how, according to the this page.

    My question is:

What file system must be the USB key, before the decision-making process? FAT32 or NTFS ?

Bought, thati USB file system is FAT32 by default.

I already read that on the page above: 'a message of Recovery Manager opens indicating that the flash drive will be formatted. Click OK to format the USB key and continue. »

but I would like to have, and a more definite answer from someone who knows better.

So, does change the NTFS file system.

or should I now start the manufacturing process of the recovery USB flash drive as it is (FAT32)

    Thank you for your help

I have already created the recovery USB flash drive, and formatted Recovery Manager the disk before the process,

and at the end, when the recovery files was written and verifyed.

I look at the file system of the USB flash drive, and it's NTFS...

    I worried for nothing...

    Thans anyway...
