  Your registry cleaner allows you to make a backup? If so, use it.
  If this is not the case, do a system restore to the date before the execution of the registry
  cleaner.

  Have you checked you anti-virus software, I found mine can slow down processing system from time to time. Also check the amount of free space you have on your hard disk, because if it becomes weak which will affect things.

  you do. Just boot from the CD and follow the prompts for a

To see if it was the m drive, I tried to burn audio files to four separate discs and each of them had the error message. The discs are brand new and have no information on them.   What you need is an Image backup utility which will include the hives of the registry. A simple copy the reg file type backup will not work until you can restore Windows.
