Click satellite Mini L9W - B - 3 weeks and battery bomb

Bought for my Satellite click Mini about three weeks of the Amazon in the United Kingdom. Very happy with it so far. After three weeks of activities abroad to travel in Asia, I just noticed that the back of the screen section of the shelf is bulging slightly where I think the battery is. It is visible under the right lighting conditions and can also be felt.

I had an iPhone that has had this problem before, but I didn't expect this to happen so fast on a three week old machine. I use only the adapter packed to load, but also use plug converters for different regions where I traveled. Couple of questions...

(1) someone else had this problem with the bulging battery? Or am I just imagining this and everyone is also like that?
(2) I am not able to return to the United Kingdom until that sometime in December, but really need this machine to work etc. If the battery is gone, it will be semi safe to use until I can get this back to Toshiba?

Would love to hear that everybody knows
.

  • Click on Mini L9W-B-102 screen do not rotates

Hi, I bought a Satellite click on Mini L9W-B-102 yesterday with pre-installed Windows 8.1. The screen is not auto rotation in tablet mode.

I can see the padlock 'Settings' screen rotation option appear and disappear when I connect and disconnect the Tablet for the keyboard, but the screen does not turn in any apps/photos. I tried to operate the device market and stop several times. I checked the "AutoRotation" value in REGEDIT and it is set to 1.

    Any ideas much appreciated!

The auto focus works only in tablet mode...

When you use the tablet in 'portable' mode (attached keyboard) automatic orientation is locked!

By the way: have you tested this automatic orientation without counting all the apps?

  • Satellite click on Mini L9W-B-loading the battery/questions

    Hello

I just got my Satelite click Mini a few days ago, and there seems to be a problem with the battery in the keyboard.

When I got the laptop I have completely loaded him and everything was fine. I have often used the laptop and I noticed today that the main battery had fallen to 3%. I assumed that the power would return to the 2nd battery but it didn't and firm. Then I rebooted and powered it however the charge seemed to stall at about 40%.

After checking the forums I thought that an update of the bios (at 1.7) it would solve however there no and other issues have marked up. The first battery charge very slowly and seems to stall at 70% the second battery is showing zero percent (before the update it is 100%), it indicates also that its plugged in and not charging.

In addition, and I don't know if it's related, but I found it very hard to type in this forum that the screen is blinking and I have to wait after pressing each key. I had this post on another laptop.

Any help would be appreciated, I'm afraid that this laptop has to return to the factory.

    Thank you very much

As far as I know that the BIOS v1.7 has solved the problem with the keyboard dock charger status which was not recognized by the system of window correctly.
You said that before updating the status of the battery was 100%. He was wrong.

You should also know that the battery
#1 refers inside the Tablet and the battery
#2 refers to the battery in the keyboard docking station.
The battery status can be checked in the Windows Mobility Center window.

When you use the tablet with the keyboard dock, the second battery (battery inside the keyboard docking station) is the first source to power!

If you use the keyboard for the first time, it might be possible that the battery is deeply discharged and the need to maintain the Tablet and keyboard dock to recharge for at least 24 hours.
The tablet should be connected to the power adapter and moored at the keyboard docking station.

  • Satellite battery click on Mini L9W - B keyboard will not charge

My keyboard battery will not charge, I left it loads for more than 24 hours after the battery 1 reached 100%.

I checked the version of the bios that is 1.70. I read the other posts on this particular issue but unfortunately nothing works for me.

It shows the symbol of charge on battery 2, but it did not go above 0%. If I turn on the battery runs immediately battery 1.

Please advise me on this point because otherwise I will have to return my satellite click mini. Thanks in advance

You completely turned the device off?

Do... Press and hold the power button / stop until the device turns off.
In addition, you can stop the unit pressing and holding the key SHIFT and then choose SHUT OFF

Then check the connection between the keyboard and Tablet docker... possibly disconnect and connect again.
Once the unit turns on again and check the battery State of charge connection adapter to the device.

Having served in a "nipple" and appropriate, click bars this 'feature' doesn't quite work for me, giving of false activations more often than I like. Note I looked at the properties of the filling in the Panel, and it is from this that the plate is not active (which is) or that it cannot be changed. Also note that the ALPS driver is updated after downloading from the Toshibs site without effect on my problem.

Go to the Windows classic desktop (not the tile-GUI modern), look for the battery indicator in the taskbar at the bottom right, double click it to expand, and it shows the status of the two batteries.

  • Satellite L850: use of AC adptor and battery at the same time?

    Hello

I have L850 Satellite and I need to know about best practices in the battery charge.
I mean by good practice, the means by which I get the longest life possible for the battery of my laptop.

Currently, I always keep my laptop connected to the power of the charger cord regardless of its battery charge completely or not. This behavior reduces the duration of battery life?

Also some of my friends advised me strange advice, I can remove the battery even the computer is on when it is plugged into the charger power cord! This safe and possible?

Please, I'm waiting for your help. If there is a documented response, it will be fine.

    Best regards

I'm even all the tie and now after almost two years pile on my Satellite P500 is still in good condition so I think that the batteries are not so sensitive.

As Akuma writes from time to time use laptop on battery power only and take a full discharge and recharge.
    > Also, some of my friends advised me strange advice, I can remove the battery even the computer is on when it is plugged into the charger power cord! This safe and possible?
You can make and use laptop without battery, but I think that it is not necessary.

  • Satellite P10 - 792 lock ups / crashes and battery

I used my P10 792 even since I bought it 3 years ago. S there was a decreasing battery box that appears on my screen (sometimes) say I should replace the badly inserted battery and restart my computer. If there is also a problem mouse touch pad. He touchpad doesn't respond well to orders while he was trying to move the pointer.

The battery alarm message usually comes with the dysfunction of the touchpad. I have to press ESC to restore the touchpad back to normality and close the application of process Btrychkr.exe under the menu CTRL + ALT + DELETE to make the gibbous Moon box to disappear.

But the main and most recently problem are blockages, especially when running programs that require a video grand advanced such as 3D games and DVDs. The screen freezes for several seconds, and then he comes back to life. This is sometimes followed by a sudden stop down.

Finally, when I try to turn it on, it doesn't even get to loading windows before it stops again, and so on. So I have to wait several minutes before pushing on the button again. Now, we have reached a critical situation where the computer won t last more than 10 minutes before its shutdown automatically without notice. There is no error message so I don't see what is the cause of the problem. (Battery? Overheating?)

It is also important to note that one of my friends with a series of P10 also had these same problems and finally had to buy a new one because the laptop has been just the hand. I fear me comes with the same situation of m.

How can I solve this problem?
I would really appreciate the help.
    Thank you

    Hello

You you use laptop for 3 years. You replace the battery during this 3 years?
Isn't it? I think it would be a good idea to replace the battery.
Usually after about 500 times of loading and unloading procedures the performance of the battery goes down and the life time decreases

Additional during those 3 years, the laptop needs to be cleaned. Fans suck dirt and dust and sometimes cooling modules cannot turn with maximum performance and can not cool the CPU and other devices.
Of course, the overheating could be a reason for your shutdown problems

Looks like you haven t much experience so I think someone with more experience (technician) is recommended to clean the notebooks cooling modules

  • Charge time for Satellite click Mini L9W - B

    I have another question:

I noticed that in the first 5 months, the charge time for my click satellite mini was about 6-8 hours for two batteries. Now, it takes much more time. Currently, he is responsible for 13.5 hours and the keyboard battery is not yet completely load (I'll post the exact end time later...).

There may be a problem or is this normal? I mean that the charging time has almost doubled...

    Thanks in advance

AFAIK battery reach optimal performance, after some time of use... This means that the battery must be charged and discharged several times to reach the best level... but it also means that the battery charge time would increase...

So from my point of few, there is no reason to fear that something could be wrong with the battery... you know...

so, I found on my trusty old laptop and downloaded to a memory stick

  • Satellite Click Mini L9W - keyboard not recognized B

    Hello

I have a problem with my Tablet PC Satellite click Mini L9W - B. The keyboard is not recognized on this subject.

I tried to clean the connector, restart the Tablet several times, tried to load with or whitout the keyboard, but nothing works!
I do not think that the problem is with the battery, as I've seen on other topics as the tablet doesn't detect even the keyboard when I plug. The Tablet does not detect the keyboard battery.

So, if you can give me advice or assistance to solve my problem, I would appreciate :-)

He has no communication with the keyboard at all? (No battery detected, the touch pad and the keyboard does not?) There must be a link related question, I guess. If it was a driver related issue, then the battery would at least get detected)

If you want to void your warranty, you can open the Tablet and keyboard dock and check that the Ribbon connectors or / and remove and replace the Ribbon connectors connectors in

    Exactly the same problem...

In addition, in the forum, you write about the version 1.60 and 1.70, but when I choose a Mini L9W - B click, I could (if I had a Login and a password) download version 5.0... It seems a huge gap between these versions...

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - B questions

    Hello

Recently received this model L9W - B Toshiba and have used for about two weeks noticed a few problems if someone came across it please let me know

-the Tablet part when it is connected to the keyboard has a huge lift and overall very badly fixed. ask yourself if that's the way it should be, or the product is defective

-the two batteries had a 4% now bears the box level up to 11% just after 6 cycles (now max capacity 17.2 vs. 19.2 for each battery). is this normal?

-When the Tablet powered independently of the keyboard part attaching the keyboard, the system will not recognize the keyboard battery, after a reboot, both batteries will be available

Overall a great product for a great price

    Thank you

    Hi anton

I am not owner click on Mini, but I watched some clips interesting youtube on this device.
It looks very nice with me, and, you can use this unit as a Tablet and a laptop, makes this unit very attractive.

I saw the release button in the middle of the tablet. I read in the comments that this button should be moved to "close" position to ensure good stability.
As the two guiding pins must be correctly inserted to secure the physical connection.

I found also some info on the two batteries.
Battery #1 refers to the battery inside the Tablet
Battery #2 refers to the battery in the keyboard docking station
The battery status can be checked in the Windows Mobility Center window.

When you use the tablet with the keyboard dock, the second battery (battery inside the keyboard docking station) is the first source to power!
    A battery provides 19.5Wh - two 39Wh batteries
