Clicking on shadow selects the object. Possible to disable?

As far as selection goes, shadow of an object is part of the object.  Clicking in a shadow selects the object.  However, if there are many objects close to each other and they all shadows, this behavior is annoying.  Is it possible to change the behavior so that the shadow is not hot?

    umangkansagra,

    How about Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + B to switch between showing and hiding the bounding box?

    Absence of any (other) cause/cure, try the list:

    Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

    The following is a general list of things, try when

    (A) the question is not in a specific file,

    (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

    (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

    You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

    If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. It is important to use this step three way: otherwise, things may persist.

  • How can I select the objects and remove the other objects by using the selection path

    I know that I am able to do this in photoshop. Select an object, lets say a group of letters just by ctrl clicking on the thumbnail of the layer, then put another layer of more selected a group of letters, then go on the other layer (not the Group of letters) and pressing DELETE. I hope I explained it well, otherwise, here is a video that made a good explanation of it. Gyazo - 015091c2a0a6d2da038901dfb16c0a7f.gif I just need to know if there is something similar to that offered in illustrator, thank you!

    What you're trying to re-create the Photoshop is called: less prominent of the Pathfinder Panel.

  • How can I stop tool select the objects to 'pick up '.

    Hi, I just upgraded to CS6 in CS3. I find that with most of the files, when I click or double click an object with the 'Selection' object tool is picked up and begins to move whenever I have point the cursor to "select".

    I think this is a feature rather than a flaw, but all I usually want to do is double click in a text box to change the text. Instead, I find myself engaged in a dance joyous, something as when Peter Parker first gets his powers and continues to pick up objects with his sticky hands and cannot put it down; except less funny.

    Can someone help me to stop this behavior and get back to editing the text easily?

    Don't know if this helps, but I use a Magic Trackpad and a display of feather Yiynova (like a Cintiq). Do the equivalent of 'clicks' with the two produced this effect.

    Thank you.

    It is certainly a problem on your system, not in the code. The only big change you would see in the selection of CS3 behavior would be that the selected objects are selected to go anywhere you click inside of them or if they are behind another object, then you will need to is no longer be sure to enter the Center spot on unfilled or hidden frames. In addition, what described you in your original post looks like a kind of scroll setting in a driver for your touchpad, pen or display.

  • Cannot select the object.  Help, please!

    There is something in my publication that I can't select.  Its not on the master page and nothing on the page is locked.  Is there a single layer in the document.  Any suggestions?

    OK, that's what I thought...

    You have different masters applied on both pages, but because this rectangle is covering the spread master it also extends on the document pages, so now you have one of each of the two masters (and they seem to be in different positions, different sizes or something). Kill the span and it should fix itself (using a unique fram on each half of the master instead of one that crosses).

    But it would be even better to completely eliminate that frame and make the filling on the chassis of white and transparent page number...

  • I would like to cut out an object using the Quick Selection tool and drop the object into another image. Can anyone help

    I use background images and want to cut objects of other JPEG files using the Quick Selection tool and drop them in the background image. So if I have a banana and select the object, I need to copy the banana in the context on the other.

    Hope it makes sense.

    Gary

    Select the banana. Right click > copy layer. Move tool. Click and drag to the other file. Place on the image.

    GOLD: load history and banana in a stack (file > Scripts > load file in the stack). Select banana and layer for copy or create the layer mask.

  • Select only the objects in a rectangle selection

    I am a new user of Illustrator CS5, switching from Freehand. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to select only the objects in a marquee? In AutoCAD, you can make a selection on the left window to the right and only those objects entirely in the window are selected. If you the window right on the left all the objects that are "crossed" or affected by the window are selected. Is there a similar technique in Illustrator?

    Currently, I have to select the objects, and then go back and hold the SHIFT key to deselect the object I don't want, or place objects on different layers and then lock the layers to prevent additional items get selected.

    In AutoCAD, my main program, you simply draw a window selection, left or right, depending on what your next step would be. No special tools or rocking or thinking, that's just the selection primary process and very intuitive.

    I posted a discussion on the Illustrator forum several months ago, which still arouses comments so this seems to be a tool that would be appreciated by many users. Someone posted a script but it has not worked for me yet.

    Thank you for everything that you can do to solve this problem.

    This is a copy of my last post of the original thread. I found some discussions confused because I have no experience in writing or by using scripts. So I copied all the recommendations in a document to read without the comments and digressions. After several hours and a lot of searching on Google I found what solution adapted to my goal, which was a selection process fast and simple with fewer steps to use.

    So, I think I have this job. The following is what I did:

    1 copy the script by Carlos Canto post #11 here:

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/856221?start=0&TSTART=0

    2. open the ExtendScript Toolkit Utilities > Adobe utilities - CS5.5 > ExtendScript Toolkit CS5.5 > ExtendScript Toolkit CS5.5.App

    3. when the program opens, paste the script in the large Panel on the left.

    4. then go to file > save as.

    5. that the dialog box click on the arrow next to the save box slot to expand the section options.

    6. next, go to Applications > Adobe Illustrator CS5.1 > Presets > en_US > Scripts.

    7. then, in the Save as box enter a name to identify the script (I named mine Window1).

    8. click on save and close the Toolbox.

    Launch Illustrator and open a drawing.

    1 using the rectangle tool, I drew a rectangle around the objects.

    2. make sure that the new rectangle is selected.

    3. I went to file > Scripts > Window1.

    4A got an error message - error 8705: target layer cannot be changed 25-> iart.selected + true line:

    Oops, you must have ALL unlocked layers.

    5. you click OK.

    6 unlocked all the layers.

    7. my new activated rectangle.

    8. went to file > Scripts > Window1.

    9 here! Items in the rectangle are selected and the rectangle is removed.

    So yes, this script works as requested. Thank you, Carlos.

  • "selection of object by the path only" in Indesign?

    Hi, I have just changed to cs4 to 5.5 and can't seem to select an object, if it is another, even if the top element of a 'none' was complete. I know that I can hold cmd and select "via" objects but in cs4, I didn't need to do it as long as the top item had no fill. This preference can be enabled/disabled through the "selection of object by the path only" checkbox in illustrator, but I can't seem to find it in Indesign. Maybe I'm lazy who want to simply do not press the cmd button but it's just annoying the hell out of me for any clarification would be much appreciated.

    Ant.

    Hey Ant,.

    You use the 'Frame' Rectangle tool or the tool 'Rectangle '? I find that I selected the 'Frame' Rectangle tool, it will always be the selected object, even if it has no fill; using the "Marquee" tool, if it has no fill, you can select the objects below it without going through CMD-click.

    Hope that helps,

    See you soon!

  • error on the selection of object in ILLUSTRATOR CC

    Hi all, I have problem with object selection in illustrator CC, when I select the current object it will also choose the other object, I can not select the object I want, not on the group or the clipping mask... always to highlight both. It often happen when I've done so vector object. any help from you guys is so appreciated...

    Thank you

    Creig

    It happened through so many versions that I remember most when I met first it.

    One thing works only occasionally when you get such a choice of "ghost";

    Create another object (a small square or other).

    Select it. Your new object and spirit will be selected at this point.

    Align using one of the alignment buttons, any.

    Immediately cancel the move (Cmnd/Ctrl + z) and deselect your new object. On the nine times out of ten the ghost selection will be gone as well. If so, you can remove your superfluous object and continue to work (until next time).

    It does not always work. But it is faster than a reboot when it does.

  • How to decide if a selected Flash object is the object of the right

    Hello

    I do a point-and-click Flash game and the objective of the game is to click on the right objects in a room. Say that if the main character says 'find my chair', and the player clicks on the Chair, it's the right object and an audio file is read. If the player clicks on a spoon, it's the bad object and an audio file is read. My question is: How can I do this in Flash (in ActionScript, right)? I did a different layer for each object.

    First you need something that identifies the object that you click and store this information for the purpose of comparison.  Then, you need to have something assigned to each element that has the same exact information are entrusted to him.  If you are using AS3 then you can use a listener of events like MouseEvent.CLICK to clicks and then make use of the MouseEvent currentTarget property to isolate the object that was clicked.

    Suppose you have a movieclip with an instance name of Chair.  You can check for the name of this object against the current name of the object that should be clicked...

    var correctObject:String = "Chair";  You EF it dynamically sort

    chair.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, testObjectClicked);

    spoon.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, testObjectClicked);

    function testObjectClicked(evt:MouseEvent):void {}

    if(evt.currentTarget.Name == correctObject) {}

    correct response process

    } else {}

    incorrect process

    }

    }

    NO.

  • Selection of objects by crossing, no window

    Requires the object selection tool now allows you to select the object in the entire window, rather than just go through the object. I tried to hold ctrl, shift, and really anything else I can think of. Is it possible to use the select object tool and select both lines 30 +? I can't use the window as I would be by removing everything that surrounds the objects that I'm trying to delete.

    Thank you

    Shea

    On a mac, using Acrobat DC: I found that Opt + drag allows me just to cross the edges of objects to select several objects.

    Using Acrobat XI, Opt and Cmd + drag, drag had the same effect of allowing me to select several objects just across borders, without having to draw a marquee around each of the objects.

    Alternatively, if you have Illustrator, you can edit the page using Illustrator. Select some objects (or objects with Cmd + A), then make a right click Change t with Illustrator.

  • Incompatible transparency according to the position of the object on the page

    I have a corner object that uses a radial gradient, with an opacity of 100% in the Center and 0% opacity to the edge. When asked over a rectangle object to rounded corners, the corner object has the appearance of "gradual" to the edge, as not expected, no problem. However, if I copy (or move) these two objects (Alt + click - move) to another area of the page, the copied or moved corner object seems to lose its gradient effect (even if it is apparently still applied, evidenced by selecting the object and selecting the gradient tool) and seems to be a solid color.

    -J' checked each object is on the correct layer: corners, on top of the rounded rectangles, on top of the background.

    -The problem is not a screen problem, because it is obvious when the page is printed in too.

    So I can't work on why move the object to a different location on the page affects its gradient. Any ideas?

    IllustratorTransparencyIssue.jpg

    (I don't see any way to reach the source file. Is it possible?)

    I found your problem. Your appearance palette is slightly different from mine on something important 'layer '.

    You have assigned the fill of the layer rather than the path. So, when you drag a copy, the gradient is off. Clear the appearance (the menu flyout). Make sure that you have the selected path and not the entire layer (look at the apallette aspect), and then add the filling.

  • any way to lock the scale of a model (not dependent on the size of the object)?

    I know about the scale dialog box and the mode of scaling and object independently, but what I would really is a way to block a model to stay the same size and shape compared to any size becomes the object, to which it is applied throughout the document.  From now on, it's hard enough to do what I say... constantly bother with issues of scale in the scale dialog box.  But what happens if you have two objects and you want them to have the same model, same size etc even if their size and move them?  Think if you are mapping and you as "swamp" or "thick granite" symbol and you want the marsh plants few stay the same size easily. It is possible now, but certainly not easy I can tell. 'Traits and effects scaling' option in preferences does not affect employers, is basically down to resize the object and then guess what percentage to keep the model. And I really don't want to do up the dialog scale up just because I want to make one of my larger items and don't want to come into conflict with the other grounds in the same way. Or maybe I'm not using the right program...

    all advice?

    Few things that comes to my mind - disable the motif size change in preferences. The select the object that has this model of fill and click twice on the shade of reason. This would reset the fill of the model in its default size. If you find that too big or small, rework on the shade of reason to get the right size. And next time, when you use the scale dialog box, make sure that you do not have "Patterns" checked.

    To change the position of tile in the fillings - select the object, press the tilde (~) key and using the Selection tool is trying to move the object slightly. Experiment a little.

    If that doesn't help - thanks for posting a snapshot.
