Client administrator user role

Hello-

I'm the DA for our company and I learned by an engineer that I need to add the Admin client role to my profile in order to access the customer portal (which at the moment I am unable to do).  I tried to follow the steps to do this, but I get the message:

Not available to assign users to roles

Screenshot is attached.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi Steve,.

You are faced with this problem due to lack of required fields: hostname in the CSV file.

Please go through this PDF it will help you look at understanding of the CSV file import capacity and the use of the import of CSV files.

  • program user accounts: administrator user account

I created a user not knowing account is the user account administrative and when a phone rang I confirmed the password without remembering what I wrote, it "administrator user account" to change / remove it completely. Because I can't even open the computer programs, it blocks everything.  (b) I've recreated a 'Standard user' account, but it doesn't have the same functions.  PLEASE HELP ITS URGENT

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • The worksheet name change for the interactive user role

    Hi all

I have a question about DRM security for users with access add to the sheet and only read access to the members. The requirement is that the user should be able to add a sheet and change all the properties associated with the leaves but cannot add or change the Member or any property associated with a branch. To do this, I created a group of node (NAG1) and assigned categories of goods (PC1) associated with the hierarchy of the NAG1 with editing access to PC1. The NAG1 for journal access ADD and NAG1 for branch had read access. The user has only one role which is the interactive user. This way, the user cannot add spreadsheets, edit the properties associated with the leaves, but don't can't add limb or change all the properties associated with limb, HOWEVER, the user is not able to change the name of an existing journal. If I give the user role 'Director of Application', while they are able to change the name of the system, but then they see the section Administration on the left and everything related which we want give...

Is it possible to give the user the ability to change the name of the worksheet without giving ""Application Administrator ' role? "

    Denzz Murali Pasumarti

    Thanks in advance

    Sumit

Have you checked RenameLeaf and RenameLimb system preferences?  I think that by default, only the administrator can change the name of the node, but you can grant this possibility of additional roles.

  • API for Virtual Private Cloud user roles

    Hi guys,.

About vCloud Air Documentation Center documentation, I see only "Virtual infrastructure" administrator and "End user" roles create and manage virtual machines. The role of "Accounting officer" description is «...» Account administrators can also view virtual data centers, virtual machines, gateways, network and activity logs... «, on this sentence, I understand that "account administrator" NOT able to create virtual machines and can DISPLAY its settings, but I was able to create a virtual machine using API by the user with the role of "Accounting officer".» Someone please clarify the responsibilities of roles?

    Hello

Thanks for that bring to our attention. Slightly changed role definitions and I'll have my Tech writers look more closely at this.

  • Question: New user roles between Versions

Is there any place besides the Administrator's Guide, where new user roles are listed in the annex.  I would be very happy to see a list of only the new roles available to a major version major version in the notes version or any other documentation.  Is there a way to avoid splashing and comparing list of text to the text list of the entire list of the roles of the Administrator's guide?

We try to document all the new roles of the user in the Notes of explanation around them.  These items are usually marked with 'Necessary preliminary work' then you can quickly analyze the release notes to find them or search "[]".   PQM is available in point 6.1.1 and it includes a lot of new roles. PQM roles are documented in the Administrator's guide.

If you want a faster way and more accurate to compare, you can get a quick list of all roles available in just looking at the roles table in the database and that comparing to the previous version.   "Select * from roles.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Robert,.

InContext Editing is intended for simple editing of web pages and does not include more advanced like those in Contribute user management features.

Take a look at the Administrator's guide for more details on the privileges granted to user roles: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/InContextEditing/Administrator/

  • Is it possible to create a Local administrator user when you use the Profile Manager to get the configuration settings

    Hello

We are studying the use of the Profile Manager of OS X as a way to manage our Enterprise macs.

One of the demands made by the team, is to create an administrator user, as part of the OS X Profile which is lowered to the customer. The rationale is that this would be a way for the it team get, if the fubar user had their Mac

I did not see this anywhere in the configuration options of the Profile Manager and so ask the people who use it as part of their everyday Toolbox, to find out if such an option is available.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Madan failed

No, not with the Profile Manager.

How you deploying your company Mac?  As institutionally imagery or as BYOD devices?  If image, then the image should contain a coherent local administrator account.  If the active image also the Apple Remote Desktop or SSH, you have a method of mass, control and manage the devices.  If BYOD style, then you are out of luck that the end user is the only one with the key of the device.

You can take a look at following JAMF Casper.  Once devices are registered, you have the possibility to create accounts (However the common method is to create an account on registration).  If you deploy a BYOD approach, you should also look into DEP program Apple (https://deploy.apple.com) as more DEP JAMF (or other MDM) is a very powerful tool for light to zero touch deployment of systems.

  • How can I check if a user belongs to a certain group of field and see what are the permissions that the user has on a specific group "administrator, user and guest"?

I can't check in a group of area if a user is "administrator, user and guest.

I'm using labview 2012 in the windows domain.

I think that there are tools. NET to resolve this, but could not yet.

Attached a file that checks if a user belongs to a group in the area, but without the information of privileges.

In the past, I used the command line.  Use ' Net User % username / Domain % domain % ' to get information about the user.  Actually, I don't have the right to see the other commands, so I don't know how it works now.  .NET looks more elegant, but I never used it for that.

  • How to set controls on my computer to allow standard users to not impersonate a user administrator? I just want to be able to have 1 administrative user.

I tried to sent a parental controls for my minor daughter not to go to some Web sites, but she had figured out how to change his user account and the administrator account. How can I stop this?

I moved your post on the forums of Windows security.

Basically, you need to make sure that other users of the PC have their protected accounts password and the PC is locked or users disconnected if one of them is administrative users. If she has access to your password or the password of an account with admin rights, it can change its own permissions.

  • My wife is the administrator user and she forgot her password and she did not save what we can and there are only standard users on this PC, what can we do?

My wife is the administrator user and she forgot her password and it does not back up and there is only standard users on this PC, what can we do?

If your wife was using his account with "computer administrator" privileges, and then use the built-in account named "Administrator".

By default, the built-in account named "Administrator" doesn't have a password.  If you have XP Pro, you can access the administrator account (with no other connected users) Welcome screen by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice to bring up the "classic" logon window  Enter the administrator user and leave the password empty box.

In XP Pro or XP Home, you can access the administrator account by restarting mode without fail (repeatedly press F8 to leave immediately after the computer starts / restarts; if you see the Windows logo, you waited too long and you will need to try again).  Once Windows starts in Mode safe mode, the administrator account will appear on the Welcome screen.

Once you are in the administrator account, go to control panel > user accounts to reset the password of an account with "computer administrator" privileges or create a new user account with privileges "computer administrator."

If the password that you lack to the built-in, ' administrator' account politics of Microsoft for these forums forbid us to provide you with any information that might help you to bypass this password.

You must restore your registry to a point in time before that you have disabled the administrator user.  It is not easy if there is any left on the system administrator user.

One way to do this is to start your computer from a CD rescue-style such as BartPE and UBCD4Win or Linux Livecd such as Knoppix.  You can then follow the steps in the following article from part 2, step 6, using GUI to copy and rename the files rather than orders from command-line specified in article.
