  the trigger below works fine. But I want to get the name of the client computer and the name of osuser customer in the output of the same trigger shown below, how do I do this in the same trigger? any help is highly appreciated.

  the output showing sessionid, date, db user name, as a local server machine name.but I want osuser of customer names and the name of the client computer as you know connection of clients to the database of their machines.how can I achieve? any help much appreciated.

  Table names and column are all two identifiers
  According to the documentation, the maximum length of an identifier is 30 characters.
  It is hard coded in the database software and you can't change it.
  Or do you need to change.

• Oracle and the segment size of external storage block size

  Hi all.
  I have a storage which will host an instance of Oracle data files. The RAID should be configured and for this, my colleague needs set the segment size. Its options are 16 k, 32 k, 64 k.
  The db Oracle will essentially the size of block 8 k value. The oracle block size must be synchronized with the size of the minimum of 16 k segment?
  How this change may affect performance?

• Is Oracle and the Developer installation reports

  It seems that the Internet Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.2) installer allows us only to install the complete set of tools that is Oracle Forms Developer, Oracle Designer, Oracle Reports Developer and Oracle10g JDeveloper and we cannot do a custom install which either we would just install forms and reports or to remove install station Designer and JDeveloper.
  Is there another way to install only the tools forms and reports?

  Export creates a logical backup its great to move the tables, diagrams, etc.

  Import bring data back in.

  You can use a parm file with either.

  Example of import:

• Oracle and the SSDS

  We have a database of 3 TB and in a few months with migrating to a SAN storage 8 TB of HP with SAS 15 K disks nine. I have no idea how the disks are configured, but the faster they are RAID 0 + 1. Of course, this system is a data warehouse. The vast majority of reports must be run on about 150 GB of data most recently added. The system includes 8 PA-RISC processors and 16 GB of RAM, but we could opt for Oracle RAC with 3 these systems (instead of 1 we use now).
  
  Is could someone please tell me if the SSD will offer all the advantages of this system? If so, what are we supposed to do? Tablespace Temp? Redo logs? Archive logs? Request for verification of output? Let's keep each month in its own tablespace and I thought maybe we could welcome the current month, where almost all reports are ran, in the SSD and at the end of the month move it to the HARD drive-based SAN storage. This configuration is feasible or is it too complicated for a vital production environment?

  Not necessary, if you map your data o tablrespaces files correctly.

  Just move data I/O files on the SSD, no restructuring device is necessary.

  I wanted the opinion of someone who has had experience with SSD and Oracle first hand.

  And you mine. I've used SSD for four years, love them! I have a database of 80 GB and SSD relief runns full fast.

  First of all, I'm sorry to ask what is probably a common response to the knowledge of most in the forum. I can't find a straight answer, the search of these forums or via google.
  
  We have Windows 7 64 - bit in our next update office. We have several Oracle databases, and all client software in our environment is 32-bit.
  
  I want to try to be at the forefront, so I want to deploy the latest version of the client 64 - bit 11 g instead of our current client (10 g 32-bit).
  
  The simple question is this: can we actually do with our suite of 32-bit applications or do I need to install the client for 32-bit to 32-bit applications side-by-side with the customer of Oracle 11 g 64 bit for future 64-bit clients?
  
  For the future that, if I do, then someone good instructions on this? I found an article about it, but it seemed personal and made use of the mklink command, so I have my doubts it is correct.

  so I don't know how the oracle client version/architecture (32/64-bit) is installed on the client.
  
  of sqlplus v I get only the version that is installed, and not if it is 32 or 64 bit. How can I find that.

      * 10gR2 (aka 10.2.0.x) 32-bit RDBMS Client software will NOT install on any x86_64 Linux OS system.
      * 11gR1 (aka 11.1.0.x) 32-bit RDBMS Client software will NOT install on any x86_64 Linux OS system.
  
  The answer to "why", is that the 11gR2 Client software is the first version that includes syntax so that a 32-bit object is linked.

  Probably a Client of Oracle database uninstall will arrive in a Windows box, where there are several houses of Oracle:

  (1) the Oracle Database 11 g Client is.

  (2) the House of Oracle Oracle database server.

  (3) oracle 6i Oracle Home.

  I have these concerns:

  (1) do I stop Oracle Services NOT related to the Oracle Home being deleted? I guess that's not necessary, but it is recommended?

  (2) the YES program to run must be or is better to use the YES program located at removed Oracle (Oracle Client to Database 11 g in this situation)?

  "(3) I see there are additional post - installation according to section 5.3 steps"manually remove the Oracle database Client components remaining' the Oracle Client Installation Guide for Windows.

  Could someone provide the additional steps or recommendations?

  Sorry but I do not trust the windows plataform much!

  You can use the oracle supplied binary dinstall to uninstall oracle binaries that you can download from this url of Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 for Microsoft Windows (x 64) that looks good in your context.

  In addition, you can also uninstall the binary files by running the dinstall respecitive houses Oracle located in the path: ORACLE_HOME\dinstall.
