Clip against a subelement - separate metadata?

Is it possible to have metadata added to a subelement so not crush the metadatra added to its master clip? This would increase the accuracy in locating specific cue points.

Thank you!

Bobby

HI -.

Unfortunately our subclips are simply references to the main element. The main element contains all of the metadata for us.  You can try to use markers/tags to isolate metadata in a sub clipping region may be.  Alternatively, you can encode your clips of video in real clips on disc (become their own main items) and then add metadata. But then, of course, you lose the relationship between the sub and the main elements.

Wish I had a different answer for your questions.

Kind regards

Michael

  • How to import metadata from prelude to first use duplicate set of source files?

    I'm trying to figure out if it's possible for me to work on a project with someone else in the prelude/first without us sharing the same source clips? We do not have a disk that is shared at the moment so we will have to duplicate our clips source on two separate drives to work at the same time. I wonder if there is there for my assistant record clips in prelude and then export the metadata for me to import them into first and connect with my source clips (which would be called the same)?

    Hi crc.

    Thanks to accentuate the problem with these files where does not appear XMP. I forgot to mention.

    In fact it seems anyway, except the copy of the files to import metadata from prelude to prelude/pre pro. Markers or the metadata in the metadata Panel, both work the same way in the prelude.

    There is only one thing, I can think of that workflow. You can select the same markers on files where the XMP files are created, then copy these xmp files to another drive/system and import via panel data associated with files that do not create XMPs.

    Although not up to the mark, but may be it could be of use.

    continue to write in the case of any confusion.

    Thank you

  • The clip selected in the timeline?

    Is there anyway to get the selected item in a calendar using ExtendScript? And also get clips/departure point (and other metadata).

    Otherwise, plan to implement? I am currently looking for a tool to 'Publish' in the first construction of a vfx pipeline and I need to be able to 'do things' on the selected clip.

    / Simon

    Hello

    I know it's an old question, but yes you can do it.

    You can loop through a trackItemCollection and locate the isSelected() property. Returns a Boolean, if true, you can still get the trackItem, two inPoint and outPoint.

    var app.project.activeSequence = SEQ;

    var titles = seq.videoTracks;

    check for the first track

    var firstTrackItems = .clips [0] titles;

    for (var i = 0; i)< firsttrackitems.numitems="" ;="">

    var currentClip = firstTrackItems [i];

    If (firstTrackItems [i] .isSelected ()) {}

    do what you want with the clip

    Alert (firstTrackItems [i].start.seconds);

    }

    }

  • Separation of great movie Clip in small projects

    I am a new user to the first Pro CC (today).  I'm a long-time Photoshop user, lately PS CS6. I had recently several hundred feet of 8mm movie (around 1960) film scanned commercially in a large file in the .mov format. The quality is excellent. I now have a great film clip (16 GB) I need to split into small clips that can be arranged in several different projects. In short, I need to cut the large file into smaller, manageable bites.

    My hardware is an iMac, OS 10.7.5 (lion), 3.4 GHz processor i7, 8 GB 1333 MHz.

    Help or guidance on how to address this problem will be certainly appreciated. Thank you.

    Your file open in the monitor source, press 'I' to set the beginning of your a subelement. Press "O" to define the end. You can then create the subitem by several methods. Choose Clip/make a subelement. Right click on the display of the source and choose to make a subelement. Or use the keyboard shortcut. To find kb shortcut go to Edit/shortcuts and type "subitem" in the search window at the top. After you have created your first subitem change the I/O location and repeat the process until you are all through.

  • How to mark Clips for later use

    All, long time user of Premiere Elements, but new to Premiere Pro...

    I'm looking for a * simple * to mark a clip (or preferably a point in a clip) as something I want to use later for a montage of end of project.

    One way seems to be to use the "Place marker" button in the timeline panel. Pretty simple, but I don't see anything to say later "show me a list of any element that has a marker in it.

    I think I could click on each marker, as I add and enter a comment in the dialog as "montage" and later find all these comments of "montage". (But) it is just a few clicks too and hits my taste - too disruptive to my flow and b) it is too dependent on me entering in "assembling" exact word every time - any typo or entered by mistake "damned" or something instead, and the clip would not appear.

    Another way would be to check the 'Good' on the metadata Panel (?). But one) it identifies only a clip, not a point in a clip, b) I can't seem to find a way to later make a filter to see a list of each element that checked 'Good', and c) I don't think I want to open the metadata Panel as part of my standard workflow , so whenever I wanted to mark a clip, I must pass the metadata Panel, find the clip and click on the 'X '.

    My ideal would be something like simply by clicking on the button "Insert a marker" on the timeline when I have something I want to use, then having a predefined filter (or something) who brought the list of those that are marked clips (maybe even with a "to the point" at the marked location!).

    Thoughts? Looks like a fairly common workflow problem...

    The easiest way is maybe just add to the mounting sequence when you work first with the clip.  You can always come back later and clean installation.

  • Fill the tag of title - content or metadata?

    I noticed that many sites use the same information for the title (< title >) tag and the title of the displayed content. I created a regional definition with two elements: title and content. I then tried to incorporate the content of the Title element between the < title > tags as follows:

    < title > MacEwan | <!-$wcmElement ("Title")-> < /title >

    but the item is not displayed. Any suggestions how to do this job?

    What is the best practice? Should I seek to create a separate metadata field instead?

    In advance, thank you for your help and suggestions!

    If you are on a secondary page, you can use this:

    MacEwan |<!--$dDocTitle-->

    However, if this is a main page, there will be be many elements... it is generally advisable to get properties of the custom section:

    MacEwan |<!--$ssGetNodeProperty("label")-->

  • Server files to fiber without Xsan?

    Hi all

    We did a Mac Mini server for a long time now on ethernet on our small business network, and we recently replaced one of our editing Mac Pro (2010 model) with a more recent 2013 videos.

    The Mac Pro 2010 has a fiber inside, and I wonder if it is possible to use it to replace our server Mac Mini (El Cap) and run as a file on the network server using fibers. Our firewall is a Sonicwall NSA 4600, which has the ability to take entry fiber connections, then all customers would be connected via ethernet. All our data would be on the internal SSD drives, and configure a RAID is not necessary (there are already solutions secondary and backup in place).

    I have little or no experience using fiber (a company from the outside set up our private network edition). Before I jump into the rabbit hole, which was wondering is) adding a fiber to a network machine works similar to ethernet (i.e. just setting IP, Sub, etc.)? (B) what I need to set up an XSAN system with controllers separate metadata etc., or can I simply connect the mac pro in the switch firewall and SMB/AFP share as he was connected by ethernet? And (C) can other services OS X Server as a VPN server, RADIUS, or OD work through the fiber connection, or do I need to run an Ethernet line separate to those of work (or even to keep the Mac Mini for these functions)?

    The advantage that I would hope to achieve is a debit to transfer files to and from customers.

    Thank you!

    There are two types of use of fiber that your current Mac Pro could use.

    1. Ethernet over fiber - used for the connection of normal computer network
    2. FDDI over fiber - used for the connection of SAN storage

    It's not not obvious from your post that you are using. Ethernet over fiber option is mainly for going the distance, but could also be used with a faster for example 10 Gbit/s network connection.

    Your current Mac Pro run Xsan? If it means that he uses FDDI.

    Note: Everything needs to use compatible versions for Xsan for work.

    You can get the two 10 Gbps, that interfaces Ethernet fiber and FDDI interfaces for use with a Mac, this is done with a direct Thunderbolt adapter, or a bolt of lightning to box PCIe in which you want to keep a PCIe card - most likely even the currently in your Mac Pro.

    FDDI is only used for storage connections and is normally only used by servers. (And the storage itself.) It permanently unusable for normal networking, servers would also have Ethernet connections for this.

    A 'SAN' allows several servers share a single storage via direct connections (FDDI) device, normally only one computer can be connected to a storage device. The Xsan software or a similar software for other platforms acts as a controller to ensure these several servers can use the same storage without conflict.

  • Stabilization repeat dominant analysis of movement several times

    I'm running 10.2.3 10.11.5 OS FCPX.

    I have a project of seven minutes and trying to do a clip that is a minute and a half of stabilization.  The "Dominant movement analysis" of this little clip repeats again and again and again.  It is 100% and seems so all over again.  After a few hours of this, I gave up.

    I made auto disabled.  However, even after running manually all made, the orange line continues to display above the clip and don't change after successive executions of dominant analysis of movement.

    I am not very well informed about the stabilization, but I read that dominant analysis of movement is only meant to work once.

    I don't use stabilization often (I slog along a tripod). This might work, however; It's a workflow rest of yore: bring your clip in its own separate project. Cut the clip to just the part you want to use more than one second of handles. To stabilize. Share the project as a master file, it will cook in the stabilization. Import the movie as a steady clip.

  • Multicamera conform 4 K HD space problem

    Hello. When import 4 K images and together the space comply with these clips against zero in the case of the bin and place them in a project of 1080 p, as it should, it remains at 100%. When I choose a clip of 4K and 1080 p video and create a Multicam clip, jumps in 4K resolution and 1080 p material evolves to adapt (if I put it on any it narrows into a small rectangle do not fill the screen even if its an HD project size.) The Multicam clip seems to move to 4K.

    So when I drop the multicam clip resulting in a 1080 p project, well, I don't know what happens really not. The 4K is consistent as 'worthy', even if it is set to none. The clip HD says it's in 'fit' in line but when I set to zero, it contracts as if it was a project of 4K.

    I would like to be able to punch-in/crop the 4K images in the clip multicam and certainly do not want the HD upscaling. Anyone know if this is possible? What is the order of the clips? In the nested multicam, the 4K video is on top and the HD is on the bottom (only two cameras).

    Well, looks like I can't use multicam if I want to keep the 4K to 4K with HD images. It's going to get made one way or the other. Bad luck, but at least its only two corners so I'll just manually edit two layers of video. Or maybe that I could replace the 4K of the original clips angles after that I choose my angles?

  • Mobile clients

    Hi, it's sort of a matter of eccentric, but I tell myself that I will try.

    At one point last summer, I published a copy of one of my games under a separate title for BB10, I didn't know that you could attach multiple packages to a title.  So, this copy was downloaded a bunch of times and got a bunch of positive reviews.  Is it possible to move those particular to my title BB10/Playbook BB10 title?  I'm going to 'remove sales' the BB10 that specific before the launch of bb10.  The game is called "words in bed."

    Thank you

    Basically things this month are moving to have entirely separate metadata and assessments/examinations, for each platform, so what you ask will not work, even if it would work now. The new platform has to win his own comments, I'm afraid.

  • Import another element markers?

    Hello.

    I filmed a dozen interviews and then sent to the client audio files (MP3) for him to listen and to record and to choose his songs favorite. He wants to know if he can use Prelude to record MP3 files, I sent him and then send me the markers to import on my video clips.

    I know that he can send me just the connected MP3s back and then I can paste them on videos. But I would avoid making if possible send me large files. It would be great if he could just send me the markers.

    Who is? Basically, here is what I would like to be able to do:

    1. the customer saves MP3 files and exports the markers.

    2. I take the markers and import and paste on the original videos. (They are, of course, exactly the same length, they must match exactly)

    Is this possible?

    Thank you very much! This would really help me.

    Hi brian,.

    Thank you to try prelude workflows.

    Yes. It is perfectly possible in prelude. When it comes to money clips (and all markers and metadata in fact), prelude uses XMP to store it all. Depending on your type of media that metadata is to be embedded in the file itself (as is the case with MOV) or is written to a file (as is the case with MXF). The file will have the same name as the media file but with the extension "." XMP.  All under the video clips or other markers you added clips will reside there.

    Obviously, if the structure of the file is the same on your client PC, you can simply copy - paste the files XMP from a system to another to the location of the file and Prelude would show the metadata on the timeline.

    In case the file structure is different as in your case, where you want to transfer the metadata stored audio files on a PC to another PC, you can manually save metadata in the option xmps file--> save metadata in the form of the application.

    Now you can transfer these saved files xmp to another system and use the associated metadata Panel (from--> metadata window not associated) to import metadata from XMPs to any multimedia file.

    I hope it helps.

    Thank you

  • How do you add additional text boxes to a model card in MEA Mobile?

    How do you add additional text boxes to a model card in MEA Mobile? There are only three areas of default text of article metadata. I need to add 4 or 5 separate metadata text boxes to my card.

    Thank you.

    Here is a screenshot:

    You are allowed only three lines of metadata. However, you can add several fields of metadata for each line, like this:

  • Script for Essbase report question

    Hello. I'm trying to create a script to report which a customer dimension as a line and if possible have the customer member of level 0 and it's parent, customer level 1 be repeated on the same line. Is it possible somehow?

    Thank you

    Lol it is completely impossible in a report script.

    If you actually try to export the metadata only, look at the contour Applied OLAP Extractor.

    If you need this in a data report you to post-process the result, or have a separate metadata extracted with a search in the parent company.

    It is quite a common question, but there is no simple solution.

    How to restore the sound of the original clip?

    Thanks in advance.

    Change Original is not designed to do what you think.  This feature works correctly.

    The question is that PP does not have the functionality you need.  So here's what I suggest you submit:

    Improvement / FMR. *

    RESTORE THE ORIGINAL

    I would get the opportunity to cancel orders "Replace with After Effects Composition" and "Clip edit in Adobe Audition," even though the project has been closed and cancellation is no longer available.  A simple right click > "Restore Original" command would return the clip to its original state prior to replace or change of orders have been launched.

    Why is this feature important for you?

    Editors make mistakes.  This gives us a simple method to undo or redo the work without having to find and replace the clips assigned manually.
