This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

• iMac can't read a small amount of videos

  Opportunity on my iMac with Retina K 5 screen, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), end of 2015 / 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5, I get the following message when you try to view videos on various sites, "this video is not encoded for your device.

  Is not something specific to Safari (see screenshots), it also happens on Firefox and happens on the Web sites at random. I visit it more often - http://theberrics.com/ so I chose a video it, the intro advertisement plays very well when the actual content, and then begins the message appears.

  My Macbook Pro on the same OS plays videos fine.

  I've scoured the web and here but never find a solution or even a real hint as to why this is happening. Any wise software is 100% updated FYI.

• How to watch movies on TV about S-VIDEO?

  I would like to ask you a question: yesterday I connect my Satellite A200-1AE (Win XP, GeForce 7300 (driver version 8.4.0.0 - on the Toshiba support site downloaded)) on S-Video/TV using the SCART. The TV is enough old - 21' Phillips (54 cm). The image is in color and the sound is good :)

  BUT!
  On mobile, the resolution is 1280 * 800 and on television, the picture is not complete, I mean that I see only the part of the photo of the laptop. To see the other parts of the screen, using a mouse to "scroll" of the image. The problem is solved when I put on my laptop in resolution 1024 * 768 - in this case the whole picture fits on the TV screen. But on laptop, the image becomes not so much beauty. Can anyone tell me is there any possibility to use 1280 * 800 on laptop and when I connect it to the TV on S_VIDEO get a full picture on TV too?

  And the second question:
  Mode full screen - when I set this mode on secondary device (TV), not all programs work properly (Nero show time correct work, but Windows Media Player and BS Player shows the office and not switch TV mode full-screen).

  To get optimal picture in all possible combinations between laptop and TV is not so easy and sometimes impossible. There are several possible combinations, but one not so important for me is to have cloned picture on TV. Either you use your LCD screen or watch it on TV.

  In order to extend the display TV has more sense than the clone of the office for me. As you play with resolution has a different result on the TV and LCD. I have an LCD TV and was not able to get the same image on the screen LCD and TV. All this is not so easy.

  Some applications cannot be used in clone mode. I tested didn t with A200 but know for sure that this will not work on most DVD players.

• Cloning my Mac Mini to a smaller SSD drive

  I have a Mac Mini end-2011. Inside is a 'spinning' hard drive 500 GB. I also have a Samsung SSD 128 GB 850 vacuum EVO. I would use disk utility on these video instructions to transfer all the data from the original HD of the SSD.

  All instructions have been followed and that the whole system works very well, except the error at the end until the copying/cloning actually starts. During its installation phase, once launched, the disk utility application tells me that there is an error related to the size of the source drive that can not be copied in the targeted SSD.

  While I realize that the size IS an issue, the content of my original HD is limited to 29 GB. So copy everything should be easy, and I thought it would be handled by the app.

  SO: can I shrink the partition size of the original HD in the same size as the target SSD? It would work properly? If Yes, where can I find instructions to do this?

  Alternatively, did I miss an option somewhere in my set up the restore function? There is an option somewhere that I may have missed?

  (More in detail: when you select the source for restore partition, I chose the WHOLE - not the partition drive included.) This is maybe what is causing the problem? If I had chosen the included score only, this would work immediately and disk utility would have taken into account the size of the empty space, would have narrowed it down as a result of automatic way?)

  If you use the restoredisk utility, your Destination drive (128 GB SSD) must be the same size as your Source (500 GB) drive or equal size. I don't have not divide a disk HARD grand in separate partitions, then try to do the restore. You can try this if you want.

  So, you're the best alternative in my view is to initiate your HD Recovery from the HARD disk and reinstall OS X El Capitan on your SSD. During the installation, and then migrate your user accounts, applications, data, the parameters of your 500 GB drive.

  You can also use Carbon Copy clone or SuperDuper! to clone your disk to your SSD assuming that your HARD drive will not fill to the top of your SSD during cloning. Then, you always have to reinstall OS X El Capitan to write your Recovery HD on the SSD.

• CNET videos does not

  Hi all, I am under el capitan (OSX 10.11.3) and safari on an early 2015 rmbp 9.0.3 and I have NOT installed flash.

  Some Web sites, specifically cnet.com will not load the HTML5 videos. They work on my ipad and iphone, but on my macbook pro, they just do not load. I have a few other sites that won't load some HTML5 videos as well.

  What can I do to fix that? Am I the only one having this problem?

• SSD HARD drive cloning

  Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows a quick and inexpensive way to clone my current hard drive to my new SSD.  The SSD, I is the EVO of 850 Samsung 250 GB internal 2.5 inch SATA III SSD flash disk. I thought that I could use as Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper cloning software to clone hard drive into a USB port, replace the hard drive with the new SSD and install Mac OS El Capitan (10.11.2), download Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper and transfer the files from the USB on the SSD.  If anyone has the best ways to go about this, I'd be more than happy to know.

  MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2012)

  OS X El Capitan (10.11.2)

  Storage: GB 439,61 498,88 GB free

  Processor: Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz

  I use external enclosures due to their flexibility.  I have a http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MSTG800U3K/, and there is a little cheaper that has only USB 3.0 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MOTGS3U3/.  Exchange a number any 2.5 in. nu-readers through the enclosure.

  Put the SSD inside, download CCC clone internally externally.

  Download ElCapitan.  But install ForceQuit the execution of the European Community.  Now the twist I like, but others may disagree with... copy EC install to a place safe to use again if you need (install draws internal parts in the place of installation).  Then, run install EC to upgrade your clone.  Make sure that the clone/upgrade is running well.  THEN swap the drives.

  I use my camera for several readers of clone, data/video players, test for OSXes new readers, etc.

• HP Elite L2201X - no video in BIOS

  Hi all... I'll start with the plug.

  1 = HP Elite L2201X monitor

  Monitor 2 = LG L226WT - BF Flatron

  Video card = EVGA GTX 570 HD (with Display port)

  PC specs = Intel Pentium Core 2 Extreme (4 GB RAM)

  OS = Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - AND - Linux Mint 10

  Problem = using only the HP Elite L2201X plugged into the video using the manufacturer card display Port Display Port that shipped with the HP Elite monitor cable... There is no video when the PC is started.  You can not see the BIOS or Boot Menu GRUB from Linux.

  Attempt 1 = testing various adapters and cables (DP to HDMI, DP to DVI - D and another DP to DP cable).

  Result = no video

  Attempt 2 = Hot-Plugged DP DP in the my work (Lenovo W510 with Display port) during execution of Windows 7 PC.

  Result = HP monitor turned on and cloned the Windows desktop.  I know the monitor and delivered the work of DP cable.

  Try 3 a = HP plugged into main PC using DP to DP.  LG monitor plugged DVI - D.

  Result = BIOS appears ONLY on the LG DVI - D monitor.  White screen on HP (light orange sleep all the time).

  Try 3 b = LG monitor to help, on the start screen for Linux, continued to load Windows 7 with two connected monitors.

  Result = finally turned on HP and took control, as monitor 1 in Windows.  LG became the 2nd display Windows.  Once again, this proves the monitor and delivered the cable work of DP on this PC as well.

  Then... the question is... I don't have 2 monitors on this PC.  Remove the LG monitor and leave only the HP Elite... I never see the BIOS or the Linux boot menu (this isn't a driver problem because it is before all the OS loading).  So, how to solve this problem?

  Just to add... I bought the graphics card EVGA GTX 570 HD ONLY because of this monitor needing a Display Port adapter.  I had already tried and has invested in the DP to HDMI and DP to DVI - D adapters and they do not work on the old card.  Since then, he has worked directly with my laptop to work, because he had a display Port so no adapter was needed... I thought that my old GeForce 8800 GTX was not just conversion right.  I realize now, is not the case and this is something with this monitor specifically.

  If HP... or someone else... How can I solve this problems?  Forget the OS I installed.  Suppose that I just bought a new PC which is not preloaded and I hooked this monitor HP.  At least... I should be able to see the BIOS.

  Any help is greatly appreciated and I know that others have the same issues.  I just, I saw not only the question clearly stated in any other thread... so why I start this one.  Maybe I can save people $300 on a new video card... like what just happened to me.  =)

  I don't think that - dp has other signals than hdmi or dvi.
  PD can deliver dvi or hdmi, as the source switches to the old configurations, but most older dvi or hdmi sources don't know dp, so cannot deliver the right signals.

• Lenovo B520 sends audio only, no video on tv

  Hello. I want to play what is on my B520 on my TV. However, only audio is sent out but no video and regardless of the Office of the image (screen background image, no programs or something else). I can hear the audio from my computer to the TV. I also see some picture I set as my desktop (behind all the icons) image. But I can't even see my desktop icons and if I play some videos or something my TV plays the audio portion but shows just my image of background with no other than this video being sent. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have a JVC TV, but it's to show the image of the office if something is sent by B520 so I don't think that the problem is with the TV. Help, please.

  It sounds like you have extended your office not cloned it press and hold windows key, then press P to scroll through the options, duplicate or second screen is the option that you are after

• 700 - 147C envy: disc cloned for use on pc 2 different location

  We spend half the year in our House c & the other half in our House in NY. I have a pc in every home. I do a lot of video editing & carry work back & comes twice a year. I used to have 2 PC Intel & had no trouble to install the clone of the previous location every time we moved. This allowed me to continue what I was doing in front of the place instantly. 2 years ago one of the older Intel PC becomes unusable & I bought a desire C 700-147 with Costco AMD processor & I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately, it is not clone is compatible with my Intel in New York because they are different platforms.  I decided to replace the Intel pc with a pc HP so that the boot floppies are compatible. My question concerns the problems of compatibility.

  1. is my desire C 700-147 (chip AMD) clone with a WANT H8-1450 Desktop PC AMD FX-6120 compatible?
  2. the two computers must be of the same manufacturer as CPU (Intel, AMD)?

  3 both is the same size of the address, I.E. 64 or 32-bit?

  Any advice or insight on this popular issue.

  For the record: I have 2 windows 8.1 licenses.

  I had similar thoughts about the possibility. However, I have the experience of successflly cloning based Intel 2 pcs purchased 2-3 years & were not identical, I.e. the processors & chipsets are certainly different, & that worked. However, if I buy a 2nd pc & it does not I'll be on a bit of money for nothing & I don't know until I get back to New York. Your message instilled enough doubt think I wll go to plan B. Forget cloning available & $ for a new pc. I'll take the pc back to NY & use Acronis universal boot to make a picture of HP on Intel. At least I can take my time to do & I'll put a little money. I hope this works.

  I'm sorry for the long post, but this is the type of problem that is easy to explain in person but if transported by writing it might take a little longer for the sake of the definition. Please read on without fear because this problem is not as complicated as you might think, I hope.

  I use two (2) screens of computers with the same system but why Media Player does not work on a single monitor and not the other monitor?

  I use two monitors with my PC thanks to the CLONE function and things last a lot. #1 monitor is a computer 19 "monitor. Monitor #2 is at the end of the piece. VIZIO, the manufacturer, markets a monitor #2 as a computer screen, nope, it's a 47 '' Vizio HDTV that I use as a computer screen. I use the installation without any problems for over a year now until yesterday. The problem: now, when I use two monitors to play a video, the sound will play but not the video. What I see is a black screen empty. This negative situation applies to only monitor the #2 and does NOT monitor #1.

  Do restore of the system as a first step. If this fails,

  1. uninstall all software of Monitor 2

  2. unplug the monitor 2

  3. restart the computer

  4. connect the monitor 2

  5. install all the software monitor

• A55 and PCIe video card installation

  Work with a 8705-DHU and try to install a video card into the PCIe slot to allow the use of two monitors.  The idea is to attach a monitor to the on-board and the new card for a second monitor, and then expand office.  I got the second card installed (PN 73P 2516) and see the family of chipsets Intel 946GZ Express, no other video card.  I expect to see two graphics cards in Device Manager, but see only one.  Both monitors work, but I can't extend the desktop, only clone.  Display Properties Windows sees only a graphics card and therefore only a single monitor.  Intel graphics options see 2 monitors, but allows only for monitors must be cloned.  I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong, I worked on the PC for a long time.  There are a number of FRU, (39J9334) on the map, but I am at a loss.  I'll update the BIOS tomorrow when I return to the system, but I'm looking for other ideas.  I used the drivers supplied with the card, found an update, but once installed the cloning stop working.  I couldn't find anything in the BIOS, so I am at a loss.  Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

• Is it possible to set up a video profile on Win8.1

  I have 2 monitors on my computer and also a connected TV.   I so my main display is duplicated on the TV.

  If I want to watch a tv episode or something online (youtube for example), I would like to watch it with the sound on my TV.  However, that it is worth I have change my sound settings (output via HDMI on my graphics card) to tv, and again again thereafter.
  Finally, the reason why duplicate my main screen on the TV that I can't be bothered to change it to the wire also and back every time I want to watch anything.  It does cause performance problems minor cloning a screen while playing games.
  What is the feature exists to create separate profiles to easily switch to say watching on tv and playing on the monitor?  If not, it is a valid place to suggest this?  i.e. MS staff do not read this forum?

  Hi SteelaNZ,

  There is no built-in Windows function to create a profile to change the settings automatically. If you want to use the speakers of the TV to watch the videos, then you will need to change the settings for audio output manually to make the TV output.
