Computer HP Pavilion laptop g6-1142sl impossible to switch between video cards

I recently bought a computer laptop 'HP Pavilion g6-1142sl"on the"Windows7HomePremium"operating system, I installed the game. Then I noticed an FPS very low for 1 GB video card
When I pointed out the existence of two switchable between themselves for acquisition cards. I figured out how to move, but has increased to 10 FPS
I have thought that the problem is in the drivers and downloaded the software to update their "Driver Genius" and then updated the drivers for the cards and a few other devices, but then after a reboot has lost the ability to switch the video card by pressing a right click on the desktop. on the FPV was even lower, I translated the BONES of Italian in Russia formatted the D drive and has not discovered that more later I deleted the backup system recovery
I turned the system is fine, but I found myself with no recovery!

problem

After clicking on the AMD Catalyst Control Center

problem

PS help me to solve this problem on the front thanks

Sincerely cloned

Hi cloned,

For graphics AMD/Intel switchable works correctly, you must install the package AMD custom software on the following link - this package provides both the card ATI and Intel as well as the Catalyst Control Center custom drivers needed to control them properly.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55025.exe

When the installation is complete, restart the computer before checking it in.

Kind regards

  • Impossible to replace the video card - Pavilion Elite Pro 410 t

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Elite Pro 410t with an ATI Radeon to 2 GB video card (I think a 5770 or 5570). I'll call this map.

About 2 weeks ago it started making a noise annoying (sounded like a fan problem).

I have a spare, older, working NVidia card fanless (calling card B) and I swapped it in using the method indicated in the guide of the user/service.

When I turn on the Pavilion, it gives 3 beeps and there is no display, so I think that it does not recognize the video card.

I put the card back in and it works fine, except that the fan sounds bad and I'm not confident, it will last much longer.

I put the B card in another PC (home built) and it works fine.

I tried card B in the Pavilion, making sure it was well set and I get always three beeps.

I even went in the Pavilion BIOS settings to see if there was an option. There is no setting to choose the video card, but there only PCI-E option. Since I'm still just on the PCI-E slot, I left it alone.

So I have a work card (B), but it won't work in the Pavilion for a reason any. Has anyone seen this?

If it's a compatibility issue, is there a specific list of cards that works with my system? Do I have to buy the replacement of HP only? HP offers even replacements of video card for sale?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Yes, okay.
If you compare the PSU of the HP and the other PC (home built) - are there differences?
Maybe you need more powerful or more efficient power supply?

If you try the other power supply in your HP...?

  • Impossible to upgrade the video card on 810-109 Phoenix Envy

I bought a new desktop computer (810-109 Phoenix) and wanted to upgrade the video card. The new video card is a Zotac GTX 660. The thing is that the system does not boot with the new video card. I got continuous beeps from the system. I used 6 PCI-E power connector pins. The power suply is expected to support the video card, as it is listed as 600W and it is the wat recommended for the video card. I am runing Windows 8.1 64bits.

    Help, please.

    Hello:

When you add a video card no HP in a PC provided with W8/8.1, you will need to change 2 settings of the BIOS before installing the card.

Please read the info on the link below and hopefully that will solve the problem for you.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1200z CTO: update Win10 support video card power not on

I need to upgrade to Win10. The current GeForce 7500 video in my HP Pavilion H8 1200z is not supported, and Nvidia is not writing a new driver for it.

I bought a PowerColor Radeon HD5450 1 GB which is supported by Win10.

My system will not produce any video when turned on after installing the HD5450 video card.

There was a suggestion elsewhere on the web that I may need to update the MB BIOS to take in charge this "so-called" compatible PCIe card back.

There is no latest BIOS listed on the site of HP for this Gigabyte MB support.

Is it possible to get this video update of work in my PC?

Yes, I'm puzzled as to why it doesn't work anymore.  Maybe try a Geforce 5 * series or 6 * series card that also supports Windows 10.  The real card that has begun is problem is not a great artist, then maybe a lower in the 5 * or Geforce card 6 * series will do.

  • Pavilion Slimline s3120N will not recognize the new video card

I can't get my computer to recognize and use a new video card. I tried 3 cards (GeForce 8400GS... cards 2different and Radeon HD 4550). The computer continues using the onboard video. For each card, I did the following:

Go to configuration, advanced and changed the main graphics card 'on board' to 'PCI-E '.

Saved and let the computer start.

Stop and insert the new video card into the PCI-E slot

Start the computer and installed the latest driver

    Computer restarts

No matter what I do, it always uses the embedded video. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. How can I use the PCI-E slot/video card? Any suggestions?

I think that your problem may be the power supply unit (PSU).  The video card that you have installed require a minimum of 300W/350W.  The power supply of your computer is perhaps only 180W; 220W at the most.  You can check by opening the case and by reading the label on.  It's just too much difference for the card to function properly.

  • Impossible to change the video card Intel for radeon

    Model: vpcsc1afm

I just upgraded to windows 8 and when I go to change my video card 3000 from low power to high power AMD radeon 6470 card Intel video.  I wonder if the problem is that there is not any software for the power switch that changes computer from endurance to speed. Help, please!

I already tried this twice by making sure that the power switch has been changed for housing suitable for each drivers before installation.  The driver is also enabled in Device Manager.  I had this same problem when I tried on the bata, but I managed to solve the problem by installing the drivers.  When in the bata, it was easy to tell that the pilots were the problem because the power to speed up the computer has crashed and after reinstalling the drivers it worked fine.  Here, when applying power to the speed, nothing happens.

  • HP Pavilion 13-a113cl: computer HP Pavilion laptop won't wake up from his sleep by the keyboard or mouse

I don't know if it is good advice to post this question in, but I'm having the same problem with two a113cl-13 laptops HP Pavilion running Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). The issue has to do with the awakening of the machines to sleep using the key on the keyboard or the mouse. I'm not having problems with them to wake up from sleep using the button of power or when I open or close them.

I checked the BIOS and power settings are not there. (Version of BIOS F.32)

I have checked boxes to allow devices to wake the computer in the management section of power without success.

I changed the Intel MEI driver with 9.5 instead of 11 which is usually installed without success.

I don't know if there is a problem with the BIOS and Windows 10 or something driver associated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @jpk717,

    Thanks for the information!

Since you have formatted the drive, you must be unable to return to the old operating system, unless you use recovery media.  You can find your product here recovery media:

    USB - Windows 8.1 Recovery Kit 64B

You can try to use the recovery media to install the original operating system and see if the problem is resolved.  If you choose not to go down this path, you can try to re - install Windows 10, using the media creation tool.

    I hope this helps.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hello @SPKaler,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post on the issue with the laptop won't start does not and wanted to help you!  I understand that the screen is damaged and you are using the external monitor to view the screen.  However, now that the laptop does not start, you can see is more of the external screen to see what is happening.

From my understanding, you should not be able to see an image on the external monitor, until you start the operating system.  You can try to perform a system restore by using this document:

HP computers - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

You may be able to follow along, long enough until the image is displayed on the external monitor.  Otherwise, you can contact HP support by phone, for additional options.

  • 90 b error g7-computer 2215dx Pavilion laptop

    Hello

I received an error of 90 b system fan and the fan was making noise, almost like a rattle. I have owned my laptop for about a year and a half. (He is more under warranty.)

I cleaned the vents and the fan with a vacuum cleaner.
    I did a hard reset.

I have the BIOS updated with Windows 8.1.

After all this, I finally replaced the fan. (I have replaced the thermal paste).

The first time I turned on the computer, it was very slow. However, I do not have an error message and the fan was not running as fast as before when I turned on the computer. We whisper quiet. The fan does not make noise either.

I reset the computer and it got a little faster, but it was still very slow. He got very hot around the fan. However, the fan did not have a faster because there wasn't an increase in noise.

I did a hard reset. When I turned on the computer, I got the error of 90 b again.

I'm at my wits end. Can someone help me please?

    Computer: Computer laptop Pavilion g7-2215dx

I disassembled my laptop again and it turns out that I forgot to plug the fan on the motherboard. I think the noise of 'fan' was actually just the laptop itself. Oops.

    Thanks Mrstenter for your help.

  • Computer HP Pavilion laptop g6 sound disappears.

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop. When I feed my camera everything is fine, but then... we go several minutes sound disappears. The strange thing is that "mute button" on my keyboard does not respond too, when I hit him theres no light orange and the other the screen appears a lvl of volume (normally, it should be a cross-volume lvl). When I want to play Spotify or something like that, he said that my sound card is being used by another program... The funny thing is that when I did something like 'stress test' (I played Spotify when its worked just after the system startup) sound worked for about 6 hours and everything was fine. I hope that I will find any type of need here.

    System: Windows 8

    Model: HP Pavilion g6-2310sw laptop

Also, I want to add that each system reboot solves this problem but only for a period of time (several minutes).

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel, open Windows Update, select "View update history" in the left pane and then select "Installed updates" link in the next window.

Locate the KB2962407 update, right click and choose uninstall.  Once completed, restart the computer, open windows control panel, open Windows Update and select "Check for updates".  You will see the update that you have uninstalled just offered once again - right click and select "Hide update".

After that you may or may not need to remove and reload the sound driver - if you do, how to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.
