Close my request after 5 seconds

Hello

When I run my application, there is a first screen that prompts the user to press a button to start the real application. But I want that after 5 seconds if no button is pressed, the application closes.

I don't really know how to handle this! Could you help me with a code example please?

Here is the code I use:

import net.rim.device.api.system.*;import net.rim.device.api.util.*;import net.rim.device.api.ui.*;import net.rim.device.api.ui.component.*;import net.rim.device.api.ui.container.*;

final class Test extends UiApplication {        public static void main(String[] args)     {            Test app = new Test();           app.enterEventDispatcher();  }

        Test()  {            pushScreen(new EditScreen());    }

   private class EditScreen extends MainScreen {        public EditScreen()      {            add(new EditField("Press the right or left convenience button.",""));        }

   protected boolean keyDown(int keycode, int time) {        if(keycode == 1245184 || keycode == 1376256)         {            System.out.println("Here I launch my application");          }            return super.keyDown(keycode, time); }      }}

Thank you very much for your help!

You can do this by using the Timer (java.util.Timer) class and the class TimerTask (java.util.TimerTask).

See the javadoc for more details.

Loading the Google's HTTPS version causes Firefox to do 3 background request every 45 seconds even after closing the page.
With any other HTTPS sites that support HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST), I noticed connection only 1 history.
How can I disable these background connections?

Hello, I'm no expert on the matter, but it is quite possible that the spdy Protocol, which is used by google on its secure sites (twitter atm) and is causing the behavior that you have seen.

"SPDY connections are persistent connections. For optimal performance, it is expected that clients will not close the open connections until the user navigates away from all web pages referring to a connection, or until the server closes the connection. Servers are encouraged from the connections open as long as possible, but can stop idle connections if necessary. »
    http://mbelshe.github.com/SPDY-specification/draft-mbelshe-SPDY-00.XML#RFC.section.2.1

You can try to disable support for the spdy Protocol in firefox (in all: config) and see if that changes the number and length of connections to the server.

Have you tried to force quit the mail app? Tap the home button twice. Browse the overview of messaging out of the screen to close, then single tap the home button to exit this mode.
    Try again.

  • Telepresence server, control assets drops Conference after 30 seconds

    Much of community support.

    I have the following Setup:

    10.5 (1) version CUCM

    Conductor of telepresence Version XC2.3

Telepresence Virtual Server Version: 4.0 (2.8)

    EX60 TC 7.1.4

    Cisco 9971, Firmware 1.0000 SR1

    Some other phones (7962, 6941)

All the end points are saved to CUCM.

When I do a conference appointment without active active control, everything works fine.

When I activate the active control (according to ActiveControlDeploymentGuideR3.pdf) the Conference ends after 30 seconds.

the Conference ends even if I have only one participant at the Conference and any of the phones that I use.

In CUCM, I configured the relevant parameter in the SIP profile (according to ActiveControlDeploymentGuideR3.pdf)

on the EX60 I use Active Control, so I see the list of participants and I am able to change the layout of the Conference within these 30 seconds.

    any ideas why this happens?

the journal of the conductor shows nothing statement

the telepresence server log looks like this:

    327 14:17:09.170 APP Info Conference "8080.MeetMe_mtg' created

Journal of the conductor, it seems that CUCM closes the connection to RE-INVITE during the transition between the lobby.

There are several possible reasons, but the best way to determine "why" would be to open a track on CUCM.  More precisely a SDI/SDL (are later versions of CUCM SDL only) track on the CUCM 10.0.2.52 node.  Search for RE-INVITE him entering the IP phone and examine the lines of nearby log for some reason why.

Alternatively, you can try a few other things:

#1: Look in Service CUCM settings in the editor, then Cisco Call MAnager to the advanced parameter 'Maximum incoming message size' (there is an Advanced button, you must click above to expose this setting).  If you upgraded your CUCM from an earlier version, this value may need door to 11000 to manage RE-INVITE him to the conductor.

#2: try disabling the Protocol iX on the SIP, conductor profile and the alias of the meeting of the conductor.

  • The transaction is no longer active - Transaction has expired after 30 seconds

We have an intermittent error here, and I'm a rookie. The error will cause a 500 sent to the client every 10-20 POSTS and only occurs under heavy load. Heavy load exceeds for the day, but he'll be back.

My first suspicion was the app work transaction code and database performance problems. But the app is not transactional and database is fine. The firm (4) server nodes all the problems at equal rates, and other applications on the farm are very well, so it seems to be specific app rather than rooted in the State of the server or database.

I watched the battery a little closer and it seems to be some kind of internal persistence problem, but a completely alien to me. We have no persistent store configured, so I don't know where to start on this puppy.

It was actually my first conclusion as well. But when I went to the Source of data for this connection, I found that it is a driver not transactional. It's what made me go back and give the track a second look. I don't see any reference to the Source of the data in question. It is OpenJPA tips and tricks Session persistence.

Non - XA drivers can still participate in an XA transaction through a variety of options for a JDBC data source - for example, "1PC" and "WURA" marked on the console. (If you want to understand the search terms "JTS" or "WURA" in the edocs JDBC).

You seem to suggest that perhaps the adjustment can be made in a doc config, possibly of the application itself, right?

Right. EJB have a transaction-timeout attribute.

Rather than put in the console.

WebLogic is a domain wide transaction-timeout by default that can be set on the console, but I tend to not recommend to use it. In addition, there is what is called a 'plan of deployment', which can be used to replace some of the common attributes EJB through the configuration, but I know personally use.

But is not steam setting, if we use a nonXA driver?

    Laughing out loud

I wonder if this thing could not tell me that he has to wait on the next available persistence subsystem to store simple session data?

Sometimes, the problem is that there are applications app more complex/superiors of other periodicals. Sometimes the system is simply overloaded and takes 30 seconds to honour a request that can take normally 10 seconds.

This other application is all about persistence. What happens if app2 suck a dry persistence subsystem and app 1 expected just to store session data?

    Could be.

If the nonXA thing really doesn't kill not the quick workaround solution timeout, how could I-health check of the persistence subsystem?

Don't know. At a wild guess I check for CPU 100% on all the parties concerned is used and review database statistics.

Nginx is used almost only to two web applications, one based on PHP
and others on ruby. We encounter this problem in both applications. The server and the client PC belong to the same subnet.

Since last month, nginx logged 624 errors for Firefox and 16 others
    browsers (IE, almost).

For the test, so I wrote a simple PHP (see bottom of article) and I tried to access
Thanks to these two Apache and Nginx with 35.0.1 Firefox and IE 11. IE11
waited for 120 seconds and returned html successfully through two nginx
and Apache, but Firefox has failed or the other.

Let me describe the behavior of Firefox.

    1. Enter the test php url in the address bar, and then press ENTER.
    2. the message "waiting for response from the server" appears in the status bar for a while.
    3. watch the conversation network through Wireshark, signals 'Keep Alive'
are repeated several times between server and client, and after that,
    4. the message disappears. 'END' signal is sent to the server, the client, just after that. Firebug newspapers 'Aborted' to the almost at the same time.
    5. the responses from the server ' END ACK.

There is a difference of bit with nginx and Apache behavior after ' END
    ACK "."

    A.Nginx

Nginx logs '499' error and end the conversation immediately.

B.Apache is not connect anthying at this stage. After 120 seconds (sleep timer
in PHP) of the request, it returns html expected. Of course Firefox doesn't make it, but I could confirm both request and response of the "Follow TCP Stream" of Wireshark function. Finally, it is saved with the http status code 200 to the httpd log file.

I repeated this test several times. Actual expiration time varies from 22
70 seconds but the results are the same.

To my knowledge, the browser should display "timeout error".
After such a situation, but it only shows nothing. If the end user does not
    find out what happened.

    ---

    • What I tried to solve the problem
    • Disable all other than firebug extensions.
    • 'network.tcp.keepalive.enabled' set to false in: config.
    • the value "network.http.spdy.enabled" fake, too.
    • the "network.http.response.timeout" value 0.
    • Mobile IPV6 and DNS prefetch, seeing what follows to help.

    • past Timeout to 0 to http.conf to apche.

My goal is to make our web applications to work correctly in our work environment. I have recommended Firefox to colleagues because it was a very cool application. Change the default brawser is a nightmare for me. Any suggestions are welcome.

    < php test >
    Sleep (120);
    echo time();

    Dear jscher2000

I saw your site with my Firefox twice and there is no expiration time. After 120 seconds, Firefox has made text "sleep 120 seconds before generating the HTML."

If this isn't the problem in Firefox, but our network or server or both of them.

Thanks to you all. I will try to pinpoint the cause of our problem.

  • Play, stop after 15 seconds on iPod Shuffle

My wife I recently purchased an iPod Shuffle and headphones Skullcandy method for Christmas. The plan was to use for the race (Skullcandy are more comfortable than most of the Earbud Headphones, Apple included).

Unfortunately, when I try to play music after about 15 seconds of reading the track abruptly fades, and then stops. If I press play again, the track will start again then wither and stop after 15 seconds... and so on! The battery is fully charged. The period of time until the music stops seems very accurate, so I don't think it's a bad connection.

I've not had much luck trying to find the question - this request doesn't seem to be that common. States of FAQ of SKULLCANDY headphones are compatible with my iPod model: http://www.skullcandy.eu/customer-service/faq/faq.html

I tried without success to the following:

    • Restore the iPod
    • Using disk utility to analyze and repair the iPod
    • Let it take over completely (just in case where iTunes has been somehow misreading of the amount of charge on the iPod)

I tried with another too - Apple and some AKG - helmet which seems to fix the problem. BUT the Apple headphones are useless for the race and my AKGs are reserved for the studio. I want to use the Skullcandy headphones! It is a 3.5 mm jack, it should work!

    So, my questions are:

    1. All the world had or heard about this problem (with Skullcandy or any other headphones)?
    2. There is a known compatibility issue? (I don't like about the features of the control of the headphone button works with the iPod - I want just works fine).
    3. Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem or a work-around, before buying a new helmet?

    Thank you

    SKULLCANDY method (S2CDGY-405)

If it works correctly with other headphones, the cause must be the Skullcandy headphones.  It is defective, or design is not compatible in some way.  It seems that these headphones have controls on the cord.  There may be a short circuit that is causing a faulty signal playback.

"15 seconds" is maybe the shuffle 'expire' because it does not recognize the headset is connected.  The adjustment can be different between helmet, in order to ensure that the plug is fully inserted into shuffle headphones Jack.  It is tighter than expected when shuffle is brand new.

You have another device, like an iPhone, try with the Skullcandy?  Or you can also try with your iMac.  Your iMac can use the power cord remote control signals, as well to launch iTunes and play a song to see if anything unusual occurs.

  • Change to save the file after 20 seconds

    Hello world

I am trying to acquire data at a frequency of 50 Hz (random numbers for this test) and send to a lower loop with an architecture of producer-consumer. I would change my saving file after 20 seconds (or N seconds) automatically.

I put a saving botton and a stop one but if I press the Stop botton, my VI does not close.

I really don't know what could be the problem.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Lorenzo,.

the block "Dequeue Elelement" has a defined timeout value. By default, one is - 1, it will wait indefinitely the incoming elements in the upper loop. So if you stop the upper loop, the bottom will keep waiting until you press "Cancel".

  • Windows does not start until after the second day to have.

I just got my laptop Toshiba yesterday with Windows 7 above. I used it for about 4 hours, when I'm done I turned it off by saying it close here go to start > stop. Before putting the laptop on I saw the lights on so I pressed the manual to close button, at the last second, I saw he said something as 341 on 356 updates installed, do not turn off the computer. I don't think a lot because I was tired so the next morning, I try to turn on my laptop and it stops after the Windows 7 load loading animation, and all I have is a black screen with a mouse. I tried to run in safe mode, same thing black screen with my ability to see where is my mouse.

  • Acrobat CC closed PDF docs after 20 seconds [modified]

Recently deployed CC Adobe users, however, some are having problems with the PDF docs... the program opens fine, but when they open a PDF file, it closes by itself after about 10-20 seconds.  Most of the users are ok but there is a little of this issue.  We are running Windows 7 64 bit and we just improved XI Adobe Adobe DC.  (Currently in version Adobe DC 15.010.20060)

Please tell us your thoughts... already tried a disconnection and connection on a bit but same problem persists.  Help...

    • Can you have these users tries to go to help > SignIn/SignOut?
    • Also, can you have these users check to see if the preview pane enabled in file Explorer? If so, you can temporarily disable it to see if the problem goes away?

Finally, can send you the link to your networking service, they may need to re - run a script on their end in order to solve the problem: Acrobat Pro DC (installed via CCP) asking sign-in

  • C50-A-1HF satellite will turn off by itself after 2 seconds

    Hello

the laptop turns off by itself after 2 seconds when I turn it on. This happens if I shutted down or choosed hibernate before (Win8.1).

This means hibernation is not at all useable.

The next time I turn it on it works quite normal! Sleep mode works as well. Standby mode it is ready for use after open them both as a repetitive. Fascinating!

I looked on all the settings of the BIOS, but I found nothing what could be the reason for this behavior.

Perhaps there is a correlation with another strange behavior. The battery will not be charged over 80%. I do not use the green mode. I have to turn off the laptop and remove the battery completely for a minute. After inserting and booting Win8.1 what it charges again at 100%.

The discharge time is approximately 3.5 hours. Otherwise, the battery is ok.

But after the next discharge up to 10% charge that up to 80% more.

These two effects are not normal. But I don't think (or better, I hope) that there is a material defect.

Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?

    Best regards

    Onurbi

Hey man it are so strange problems and it's not easy to say what to do. All you can do is to install the original recovery image and test with the settings once more, of course without changing anything or install updates or additional applications.

If possible to do this and test it for a while.
    > Is there a chance does not post the laptop to a repair service?
As you probably know your possibilities to do something about this are very limited and if there is permanent problem I think you should contact the closest service Toshiba and clarify all of this.
You have the new laptop model and it should work properly. If you are not happy and there are service problems Toshiba should take are about it and help you.
