Closed Firefox tabs without giving me a warning, even if I have checked "notify me when I close the tabs.
So far, Firefox always pop - up would be the "danger; you are about to close x number of tabs"window when I tried closing Firefox with several tabs open. Today, however, it just closes directly on my desktop, regardless of the number of tabs are open. "Warn me when I close the tabs" checked in my menu "Tab of Options", but this still does not work. I always get warned if trying to open too many tabs at once, but he refuses to tell me when I close my tabs.
I tried checking and unchecking options, restart the computer, checked my plugins for exceeded those (the only potential problem is Shockwave Flash 17, but the other options to aide said Shockwave Flash 16 was the problem), sought user.js and went almost all the suggestions on the forums. Nothing's worked, and at this point I'm stumped.
(Also, I'd rather have Firefox clear my history when I go out, so just having my restored tabs when I restart Firefox is not my preferred option).
This problem started this afternoon; It was fine earlier in the day. This is due to an update of windows, an update of Firefox, or some strange virus?
THE SECOND UPDATE: I managed to locate the problem. Tab Mix Plus add-on is apparently not compatible with the latest Firefox update. Turn it off seems to have solved the problem for now.

How can I prevent the FF when I close the last tab from closing?
FF used to go to my home page, bookmarks, something else when I closed the last tab in the window. Since I restored it FF the window closes when I close the last tab. I could find something in Add-ons but just thought lost in all those that are available.
You can set the pref browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false on the topic: config page.
- topic: config page: browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab = false
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue. -
How can I stop Firefox closes when I close the last window open?
I had to get Windows 7 reloaded and my backup was corrupted (i.e., I couldn't use my custom Firefox.) So I downloaded the new Firefox and now it closes automatically when I close the last window opened. I prefer that Firefox stay open until I chose to close it. How to achieve this?
Hello 1DKG, do you mean when you close the last open tab? If yes you can replace it as follows:
enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab. Double-click it and change its value to false. -
When I open a new tab, I stay on the current page, even though I have changed my preferences to focus on the new tab.

Since I upgraded to firefox 2 days ago, there a reboot problem. When I close the firefox window, it closes as it normally does, but whenever I try to restart firefox it shows the notification that firefox still works and I first need to stop the previous process before you can start a new one. Finally after I manually stop the firefox process it restarts again.
What fixed it for me, but I am running v.15 because of other problems. I have to say I tried a hundred things and nothing works. I made the note never stop, even hours later, if I forgot to go to the Task Manager to end the process. It seems not important to know if I had extensions or modules running or not. I tried this before today. My graphics driver updated a couple of months. In any case, THANK YOU for this, finally something is going right.

When I have more now open tab and I use the x in the window close the browser I get the warning that I close x number of tabs. If I click on continue it closes the window. It's still all I had to do to end the session and close all. Now when I restart Firefox all tabs that were closed at the previous session appear on the new page. If what is expected, why do I get the warning. This just started happening. Version is 32.
Did you remove the user.js file because this file is the main cause of the problem?
With the extensions.autoDisableScopes pref, you can control where extensions can be installed.
It is one of the predefined files that define the default values for preferences (you can check these files through the address bar).- Resource:///defaults/Preferences/Firefox.js
// Disable add-ons that are not installed by the user in all scopes by default. // See the SCOPE constants in AddonManager.jsm for values to use here. pref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 15);

I am aware that this problem started with the upgrade to Firefox 31.0. If I open Firefox and look at a site Web and then close this Web site and Firefox closes its doors. The same also occurs whenever I close the last of a certain number of websites I have already opened. Previously, I could close the last site looked and the process did not close down Firefox, simply gave me my home page.
Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
Accept the warning message.browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab = double click to toggle to false

Firefox closes when I close the last tab, on a system, not the other
CTRL-W closes the last tab. On my Windows XP machine, I get a blank window well. It's like Windows and Excel, you can close all pages without leaving the application.
On my Windows XP Professional system, it closes Firefox. Not good. I won't close until I hit Alt + F4.This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
I answer to Polly: who does. Thanks, Wikiwide

Firefox is not saving my session when I close the browser
I keep my browser set to remember my tabs open when I close Firefox. Since the last update, but I couldn't get there. I checked my preferences and the option to keep the tabs in Firefox closing is always selected. When I go to for closing of Firefox, however, I get the 'you are about to close X tabs' message and all the tabs are forgotten. When I open Firefox again the tabs I had open are all gone. I tried to re-selecting the option 'save my tabs' several times, but he did not a difference in Performance Explorer, even if the settings are still correct when I check again. I'm not sure what to do about this, but it's quite maddening and I would really like to find a solution, best before frustration leads me to find another browser to use.
Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.
In the case you use 'clear history of Firefox closing. "
- do not erase browsing history
- Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "Use the custom settings for history": [X] 'Clear history of Firefox closing' > settings

When I close the tab it does not return the last active tab
My English is not very good, so I'm sorry about that. I want to return last active tab when I close a tab.
Example; I use 2. tab, then I spend 4. tab, then close it. Firefox goes to 5. tab, not 2. I did a google search, but I can't find anything useful.OK, I tried the ' tab mix more ', it has the option "return selected the last tab" when closing tab, it works, but he also broke something. When I open a link in a new tab by currently tab, it opens right into the stack tab. I checked if "browser.tabs.selectOwnerOnClose" is changed to about: config, but it is not changed, its value is true (the default). The addon made it's ineffective, I think.
So I'll try to find another addon. (open to suggestions) -
If I close the last tab (on the left) to go back to my office, firefox attempts to load the reports to me that it cannot find the server and google Chrome.
Apparently, I missed an option in the help section that prevents this. Any ideas?

When I read the news online of the journal and then close the tab and go to my office, I have a poster advertising WSOP. I would like to avoid this.
There are sites that open an ad in a window behind the current window, which I think is commonly called a pop-under ad, but which is essentially a pop up window.
Firefox allows websites to open windows pop up in response to certain actions, such as the click and double click. The browser does not check the content of the window.
To block the more aggressive, you might consider using an extension of the type Adblock Plus and its add-on battling pop up. (I do not use those myself, and you may have to make exceptions for some sites so that they work properly).

Firefox doesn't close completely when I close the program
When I close Firefox I can't reopen it later, as it still shows as running in Win XP Task Manager. I have to go into the Task Manager, stop it here and then I can reopen it normally.
