Firefox is not saving my session when I close the browser

I keep my browser set to remember my tabs open when I close Firefox. Since the last update, but I couldn't get there. I checked my preferences and the option to keep the tabs in Firefox closing is always selected. When I go to for closing of Firefox, however, I get the 'you are about to close X tabs' message and all the tabs are forgotten. When I open Firefox again the tabs I had open are all gone. I tried to re-selecting the option 'save my tabs' several times, but he did not a difference in Performance Explorer, even if the settings are still correct when I check again. I'm not sure what to do about this, but it's quite maddening and I would really like to find a solution, best before frustration leads me to find another browser to use.

Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.

In the case you use 'clear history of Firefox closing. "

    Help, please

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

If you like Advanced SystemCare software that could restore some files from older versions to protect files against the changes and then check their settings or uninstall this software.

  • Firefox does not ask for confirmation when exit/close with several tabs open

I'm having the same problem as user here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1139845 (only I have different OS)

When multiple tabs open, Firefox ask me never confirmation when I click Firefox close window button in the corner (usually accidentally). And I would like confirmation.

    about: config I have:

true browser.showQuitWarning (it is marked as custom value (bold), default is false)

    true browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab

and when I close Firefox (usually accidentally) I get window of journalist of crash that I submit usually.

Update: claims of a member who never close the confirmation appears for only one Firefox window, only several windows of Firefox. According to me, that this is of people probably half of bad idea is not using multiple windows, only the multiple tabs.

All you need to do is use the Previous Session Restore, either the default value: House in the lower right corner or history homepage > restoration of previous Session. ...

Thank you very much for the input. Indeed, I go to Options/General and together "when Firefox starts:" 'Show my home page' and when I click on X to close the FF button, then asked to FF:

"Want you Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts? I click on "Save and exit" when I start FF, tabs are automatically re-open! :-) It's very, very happy.

I never thought tabs will be reopened when the blank page is set initially. And I did not tried because I usually have several tabs open, so do not wanted to risk. For me, the issue is resolved. THX

  • AddChild() does not load swf external when run in the browser

I created a few fairly simple flash animations, but overall is based on unloaing, then loading swf files outside them.

The base file works fine, load external references and the discharge (even if I do need to preven the user hitting the Unload button when there is nothing to unload) and will then another good, IF I run it directly from my file system.

I want it to be on a web page, but when you click the button to load external files, nothing happens.  Safari tells me it can't find the file, and I use the same exact directory to test.

So does work very well during the test with flash (CS4) and runs directly from the directory in the finder, but a web page, it cannot find the file.

Any suggestions on why this is happening and what I can do about it?  It has left me speechless.

  • When I install one of the animated appearance Add-ons when I close the browser and reopen again he won't move anymore. Help please.

Previously when I install this exact same lighting animation overload Add-ons some time ago, it worked fine so I change the appearance of something which is not animated and after some time, I change to another animation APNG - Sasuke Uchiha 2 modules and discovered this problem so I thought is that this problem of the add-on and decided to try turning overload Add-ons to see if it is moving, or have the same problem , but it has the same problem, then is not the problem of the modules more.

Hello, Conson, firefox is not supporting animated themes (formerly called "persona") more for performance reasons - as a solution you can install the addon following with the theme of a character that is installed: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/personas-shuffler

  • I have a toolbar add-on that, when I close the browser, which won't be no display or work when I open it again my toolbar, despite being listed as active and appear in my tab 'show toolbars '.

I have a toolbar of Gamers unite! I use the function 'active friend' on facebook games. This function generates a "memory" of the people who send you gifts in return and the prognoses of the friends list provided by the game, so inactive players are ignored.

This toolbar appears in my tab 'Show toolbars', appears as 'active' in my Firefox extensions Manager, but there is a space empty where the toolbar should be in the header of my browser, and the active 'friend' function is not displayed when I go in the list of friend (s) of the game.

Do not see that this toolbar listed in the AMO. I don't know who or where to find support in his favor.

  • When I open a new tab, Firefox will not go to her unless I close the old tab.

I already removed the Ask toolbar, but it does not solve the problem.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!
I went through my list of the entire program, click Add/Remove and found an another add-on which was not on the list of the modules: toolbar for a YEAR. It's for YouTube Downloader. I uninstalled the toolbar and my tabs now work correctly. I would recommend that people look for Ask Toolbar, toolbar Searchnu and CDA toolbar by clicking Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, rather than according to the list of modules. My list of modules had no problematic toolbars on it.

  • Firefox is not saving the history, what to do to save the history?

Firefox is not saving history when remember same story is selected and im not not using any cleaning tools.
Only visible history is in the closed tabs recently. So what to do?

By selecting "Use the custom settings for history" is not make changes to the parameters of the story, she can simply check the settings of the story and change individual items.

Are there any visible history in the library (history > view history)?

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • When I close my browser, firefox connects not me off gmail even if I haven't checked "remember me" when I logged in.

Exactly what the said issue - my browser doesn't connect to gmail when I close my browser. I have deleted all the cookies/cache, restarted my computer, connected repeatedly WITHOUT checking the box ' remember me ' and he still remember me. This wasn't happening, but only started happening recently.

In Options -> general , you have Firefox " show my windows and tabs from last time ' value? If so, this restores your last browsing session, as if you had not closed the browser.

If you choose a homepage to display at startup, your previous session must be removed as usual (although it can still be recovered for a short time with history-> restore previous Session).

  • Why Firefox is not saving my log in info after that I used the option "Remember Me"?

Why Firefox is not saving my log in info after that I used the option "Remember Me"?
Whenever I get on a frequently used site where I have already indicated on the Firefox browser to save my log in info, I still need to manually connect. The latest versions of Firefox are not like that. I am running Firefox on both my Imac (OS 10.5.8) and on my Mac Book Pro (Snow Leopard), and on each machine, the latest version of Firefox does the same thing. I don't have this problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox then please let me know if there is anything I can do to solve this problem.

Many Web sites may use a cookie to remember you, you do not need to open a session.

Websites to remember you and automatically log you are stored in a cookie that you must allow: Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions."
Also make sure that you do not use the delete, search and download Firefox browsing history to erase "Cookies" and the "Site preferences" "browser history".

  • my firefox closes when I close the window, but the process is not stopped since I got the update to firefox

Since I upgraded to firefox 2 days ago, there a reboot problem. When I close the firefox window, it closes as it normally does, but whenever I try to restart firefox it shows the notification that firefox still works and I first need to stop the previous process before you can start a new one. Finally after I manually stop the firefox process it restarts again.

What fixed it for me, but I am running v.15 because of other problems. I have to say I tried a hundred things and nothing works. I made the note never stop, even hours later, if I forgot to go to the Task Manager to end the process. It seems not important to know if I had extensions or modules running or not. I tried this before today. My graphics driver updated a couple of months. In any case, THANK YOU for this, finally something is going right.

  • Firefox closes when I close the last tab, on a system, not the other

CTRL-W closes the last tab. On my Windows XP machine, I get a blank window well. It's like Windows and Excel, you can close all pages without leaving the application.
On my Windows XP Professional system, it closes Firefox. Not good. I won't close until I hit Alt + F4.

    This has happened

I answer to Polly: who does. Thanks, Wikiwide

  • When I close the Firefox window, I get the warning that I am closing multiple tabs. The tabs back on reboot.

When I have more now open tab and I use the x in the window close the browser I get the warning that I close x number of tabs. If I click on continue it closes the window. It's still all I had to do to end the session and close all. Now when I restart Firefox all tabs that were closed at the previous session appear on the new page. If what is expected, why do I get the warning. This just started happening. Version is 32.

Did you remove the user.js file because this file is the main cause of the problem?

With the extensions.autoDisableScopes pref, you can control where extensions can be installed.
It is one of the predefined files that define the default values for preferences (you can check these files through the address bar).

    • Resource:///defaults/Preferences/Firefox.js
// Disable add-ons that are not installed by the user in all scopes by default.
// See the SCOPE constants in AddonManager.jsm for values to use here.
    pref("extensions.autoDisableScopes", 15);
    • Resource://GRE/modules/AddonManager.jsm
