Closing and re-opening Firefox 4.01 loses the history, why?

Windows 7, computer Dell Inspiron.

In Firefox 4.01 the histiry is here, however, if I close the browser and reopen it the start page shows only in history.

Make sure that you do not have to erase recent history to clear the browsing history when you close Firefox.

This image does not yellow-orange on my side. It seems that we have a color management problem going on here. Have you had your screen calibrated? Do you know what profile is connected to your monitor (or if a customer one has been created due to the calibration)? What you have in your color settings from the Edit menu? You have proof colors enabled in the View menu?

  • When I open firefox amazon appears in the search bar that I can't remove

Note that your list of details of the system shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time you start Firefox.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: open with) If you do not create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • Closed all apps before stop then start in morning, said open Firefox "well, it's embarrassing." Why?

I have a new HP and Windows 7. I always close my apps before closing every night. In the morning, I open Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird first. Lately Firefox has been coming up with the very polite error message: "well, it's embarrassing." Then he said: he can't recharge the session.

    Hello

The final is to correctly close Firefox via the file (Alt + F) or Firefox button output > output. Please also note that plugins can cause a slight delay in the Firefox shutdown sequence. He could so that Windows will stop before that Firefox is completely closed. You can check if firefox.exe is still ongoing in right-clicking the taskbar Windows and Start Task Manager, click the processes tab. Also, look for plugincontainer.exe. If Firefox takes a long time to exit, right-click on the plugincontainer.exe and complete the process.

  • Open firefox takes me to the last page viewed before that I closed

I just installed Firefox (have used it before without any problem)
    The most recent version.
Couple of days but now its OK
When I login it takes me to a particular page, I was a few days ago. Always the same page which includes a few tabs open. None is my home page. As the "restore option to where I was before the accident" which I got in the past when Firefox had to close unexpectedly. I tried to re install, but he remembers that old set of tabs that I was a few days ago.
I erased from history and who does not help either. I have carefully to close all tabs and go on my home page before you end the session,
and next time I want to I return to that same tabs that has been frozen somewhere in the memory of Firefox.
What can I do, short of deleting Firefox and reinstalling from scratch,
    Thank you

    Hey Lmunro,

You should take a look at the How to set the home page. The first thing I would try is:

    1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Options.
    2. Select the general Panel.
    3. In the Startup box, click on restore by default.

That will reset all of the elements that might have been created as your homepage for one reason or another. This will give you the ability to define a new homepage as well.

In the section that says "when Firefox starts:" do not forget that you have selected "Show my homepage" and you should be set.

    Hope this helps!

  • ENVY of HP dv7 w / Win 8.1 freezes after the closing and re-opening of lid

    Computer: HP dv7 ENVY

Processor: Intel Core i7-3820 QM 2.7 GHz

    OS: Windows 8.1

Graphics Card & Driver: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650 M (worm 331.82)

Since the passage of Win 8.0 to 8.1, my laptop does not respond to the new entry after the closing and reopening of the cover.  As an attempt to circumvent the problem, in Control Panel (Control Panel > hardware and sound > Power Options > System Settings) I selected 'doing nothing' for preferences "when I close the lid.  After having opened the lid, tab browser fail to loa, windows cannot be enabled/disabled and CTRL-ALT-DEL gives no answer (preventing access to even the Task Manager).  The computer must be restarted to continue in force.

This solution seems to have worked, even if I do not know why the four actions that were "resolved" by the resolution of the problems of power would cause the issue.

    Thank you!

  • If I reset firefox, I'll lose the pictures on my computer?

I'll reset firefox because he's not going on the internet, if I reset will I lose pictures in my library? I've got carbonite, but I don't know if they are there. should I put them all on a first flash drive?

Firefox Reset affects only the information stored in Firefox (and most of that is recorded in any case). your photos are managed by windows, Firefox does not.

  • I installed firefox Aurora, but can I uninstall it and go back to Firefox 11 if I find the 11 version better? Will I lose the history and bookmarks?

I installed the new version 13, called Aurora. I currently have, but if I start to dislike the new features (until now I do! But I have to ask) can I 'come back' to the 'good old' Firefox 11?
Will I be losing my data and settings? History and bookmarks?

My computer is a Pentium M 1, 6 GHz (2004) and version 11 seemed very stable. I installed Aurora is because I wanted to try your new software.

Yes, you can uninstall the aurora and install the latest stable version whenever you want without losing the personal data because your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

    Thank you

  • Version 9.0.1 opens on a Google page, with no option of Firefox menu available and no obvious way to access and modify. Firefox is configured as the default browser. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times - same result. Version 8 was fine.

Once installed, the icon of Firefox opens a Google web browser page that has no toolbar or the navigation buttons. He won't go to Firefox with Google as a research tool. It doesn't seem to be a way to get Firefox.

You can be in full screen; Press the F11 key to toggle full screen or not.

If this does not resolve the problem, make sure that the Navigation bar is enabled (checked = displayed; UN - check = not displayed)

  • How can I open multiple homepages in Firefox? I want that all my Firefox different email accounts open at the same time. I've recently updated to Win7 and now I have to close it and to open Firefox to access another e-mail account!

I want home pages Firefox 3 separate and distinct for each of my 3 accounts to be open at the same time.

Questions are usually followed by a question mark. My reply has answered your question.

Firefox does not have an email, there is no "accounts of Firefox. If you access "electronic mail" with Firefox, you can use web mail. Some web mail services do not allow direct access, they want their users to access their mail from a "portal" or "Home" and will redirect any attempt to load a web site page "internal" return to home page.

In measure 3 loading different web e-mail accounts at the same time, if they are in the same domain it does not work on Firefox without an addon of Firefox. http://Br.mozdev.org/Multifox/

IOW, if these three E-mail accounts with Yahoo, without this add-on you would have to connect separately for each e-mail account, log out of the first before logging in the 2nd. Then disconnect the 2nd before logging in the 3rd. Firefox is not able to have several session cookies for a simultaneous connection to the same server. This add-on provides this feature of "multiple sessions cookies".
