CM6040mfp

My HP cm6040mfp has faded or light copies again.  We did the PQ troubleshooting and replacement stuff kept until we have finally comes to replace each consumable which each toner each drum for ITB and the transfer roller. All our consumables are consumables HP OEM.  Then we did a few complete calibrations and the colors on the demo page looked more like primary colors as difference to the pastel colors that they were similar.  So we thought it was fixed, but that lasted about a week.  Then we have updated to the latest firmware also and cleaned the sensor on the transfer roller, and we calibrated several times again and it was beautiful agin on the demo page.  It only lasted a few weeks and now the page of demonstration and ourside prints sent to the machine are dimmed.  I don't think this would scan dirty laser because the internal impressions are faded too.  We notice mainly on our Red to very light research.  It will look great for a week or two and then it fades quickly and nothing seems to last long.  This machine is used a lot and never had this problem, and has been in the same place without any problem.

Hi faded,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I'm sorry, but to get your question more than exhibition, I would say, post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do the HP Enterprise business community.

    Hello again-

I am pleased to learn that the passage is a practical solution for you.

The other possible solution which seemed to be a finding a setting under print quality-> Optimize-> light Media and put on IT.

I don't have a CM6040MFP to check this setting, but it's just an alternative to consider.

Personally I have found that a high coverage near the leading edge of the media, some printers can sometimes cause an increased rate of jam.  So I think that your shift is a viable solution.

    Good luck!

  • HP cm6040MFP Jamming

Have you noticed with 6040 MFP HP cm machines they hate labels. I tried their execution of all trays paper 5. I replaced all the important driving rollers. Such as: Fuser OEm, Pick up and rolls, secondary power transfer unit.

The sheet of labels always stops just to the sensor on the transfer belt (yes I tried to clean this area). This before the merger.

The labels that we print are Avery. We have only run the sheet once. the same labels will cross our HP cp2025 no problem.

Yes, we tried both saying the machine that the set has labels and leave just the form of plain paper. no difference. Any ideas.

    The firmware is the latest.

forgot to mention the machine never blocks just labels on plain paper or heavy glossy paper.

OK finally worked through the problem with HP ($49.00 well spen) t. If your face this problem, it's because your printer does not recognize the thickness of paper ness. Here is the solution that I have tried and sent it to my client to circumvent.

The problem is on some labels to the printer sensors think labels are another type of paper, due to the thickness. HP solution; is 'Head' to the printer instead of plain or labels. I tested on Avery 5160 labels that you gave me and they work fine when you follow the steps below.

I'll give you instructions step by step so that you have success. Also I you have to print private using the manual feed tray 1 (this is the drop down tray on the right side). The machine is too busy for you to try to drag labels in tray 2,3,4,5 and will likely create a jam.

Etape1) step 1) under 'File' in the document, select 'print '.

Step 2) pop - up print screen, choose "Properties".

Step 3) click on the tab "paper / quality".

Step 4) under 'source' from the menu drop down select "manual feed in Tray 1". Or you can select "Tray1" so say to what you wanted to print 10 sheets still thing labels at once.

Step 5) under "type" choose "header."

Now private photography way to do not to hold machine until you resume the labels to it.

Step 6) click on the tab "job Storage."

Step 7) click 'Private Job' under 'job Storage Mode.

Step 8) 'require pine' comprise all easy to remember 4 digits. "1111" is always good to use.

Step 9) "under the user name' use your own name. Unless your name is very common and that he could get confused.

Step 10) "Job name" If your shipment just a job let go automatic, but if your impression up to 10 different jobs at the same time, then each give a unique name so that you know what type of labels to put in Tray 1 and when.

Step 11) click on 'ok' and click on 'print '.

A work of Identification Storge is displayed click on 'ok', it's not really important that the machine is now store your business.

Now you can gather up your labels, go to a meeting or take a call that no matter when you go because your job is stored on the hard disk of the printer and will not interfere with all other peoples print job, copy jobs or analytical work.

Step 12) to the printer with your labels.

Step 13) If no one is the copy or scan you can go ahead and access the document. Since the Panel scroll down until see you "Storage of the work" click it.

Step 14) and select the folder that contains your name for example "Pramila.

Step 15) and then select the name of your 'work' and press the 'pin' button that opens enter your PIN NUMBER '1111 '.

Step 16) If you want to print several sheets with exactly the same thing now, you can enter any number 1,2,3,. If it's just a copy, press the 'Start '. For multiples to 'step 4', it would be a good idea to just select "Tray1" and not "power manual Tray 1".» This avoids having to press the "Start" button to feed each sheet of labels.

Step 17) the machine invites you to load "manual Tray 1" and once loaded, the printer automatically prints your work. Your work is now cleared from the hard drive and disappeared forever.

It seems like a lot of steps, but it isn't really. 50% of the steps your probably already done when your simply send a job. I have just clearly detailed to them. The process takes me about 20 seconds from start to pick up my printed label.
