• XNet 16.0 Database Alias Change?

  Has there been a change of 16.0 XNet that put additional restrictions on alias names can be a database?  A user of my software is to see a strange error saying they don't have anything in their name of the alias other than superior or letters, lowercase letters, numbers, underscore, and dash.  Software I wrote takes a DBC and adds and assigns an alias, which is the name of the CAD file, but this does not seem to work.  I'm fine with my software update to replace characters with underscores, since it is simply an alias internal that the user does not need to know, but I did not see this listed in the change log.

  hope you can help with this. I use the live database request in Oracle BI to send a complex query directly to our data warehouse. My problem is that the columns of results containing my measurements are converted by Oracle BI so they should be double. The conversion of integer causes decimals to round values, reading to incorrect results in my reports. I tried several tweeks to my request to allow OBIEE correct estimate on the data type, but nothing has worked.
  
  Is there a way to force OBIEE to recognize the correct data type for a column in a query request to the live database?

  Problem solved.  Excel could not place a "TAB" at the end of my first row.  Fix, txt file opened in Notepad and add a TAB at the end of the first line then save.  Thanks for the help George!

• Impossible to deploy the database of NOR-XNET to target RT PC

  I am trying to deploy a XNET database to a target RT PC simply by following the tutorial here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9847EF6F2D867BC186257DCE00626236

  However, when I click on deploy nothing happens; I get no error message and the database alias does not appear as present in the aim of RT (the entire list is empty for the RT target). If I run my code, he complains about the database not being is not present, so I don't know that it isn't here.

  I checked with Max OR and target a NI-XNET 1.6.0 installed. I'm using LabVIEW 2015. I have no problem connecting to the target. I tried an another new database created with LabVIEW 2015, without going. I tried to disable the Windows Firewall as suggested in a similar position (http://forums.ni.com/t5/Automotive-and-Embedded-Networks/Unable-to-deploy-NI-XNET-Database-to-RT-Tar...), but that no longer works.

  It seems that I have the latest version of XNET on my target and the crowd at the beginning, but just to try something I did the following:

  • I have reinstalled XNET on the target using NOR-MAX. I had to uninstall dependency package "nor-xnet for NI-CAN compatibility library", before doing this.
  • I have uninstalled and installed the last XNET on target as well.

  After that, things worked!

  I managed to delete my cRIO alias XNET .xml file. The problem is that the alias Manager does not connect to the cRIO (error BFF63101). The connection is fine - I can FTP, connection of the user interface, etc. I tried to let fall the firewall but no go.   It's an encoding issue. It seems that you are pasting from a Word document. Word converts the three points at the suspension points. I don't know which Word coding uses, but if it does not match the encoding of your application and a database, it displays incorrectly. You must make sure that Word (or whatever it is you use to create the text) is not converted three ellipsis points, but retains the original three points.

  It's strange (referring to different users).

  Only reason I can think of, is that this was done "manually". Once the call racgons as root, the other time an owner oracle user/crs.
  You have a domain and one without, also indicates a manual call to racgons. Otherwise, the two would be with or without.

  What I recommend (and always done with my CAR), save it with and without domain as the owner of the crs (not root).

  So delete all entries (racgons remove_config) probably once as root to get rid of the bad entry.

  Then add them as crs/oracle user. Is the best with and without domain name (for each host):

  racgons add_config :
  racgons add_config .:

  After that, you have to restart ONS to pick up the changes. Unfortunately this needs srvctl stop applications and startup applications (so a short downtime).

  You cannot add data in BTA only banks in OpenScript.

  You can get the same thing by using the following techniques:

  (1) - have X many different scripts, you can just do a backup as in a manuscript to clone, and then change the database.
  (2) - have a different database file that you manually change.
  (3) - select the file database in Code view.

  And finally, you can select a range of values to use in BTA, so you could use a database file and set the first 100 users to have a different role that the second series of 100 users. You can then select range he in BTA just click the database icon in the view of scenario in BTA.

  Hey JSOTO,

  You connect to any equipment calibration using VISA?  If so, you can check that all these devices are rising and successfully through VISA?  If one of the VISA alias is incorrect, then could you appears as this error.

  My recommendation is to start Trace of e/s OR (formerly known as "NOR-SPY) (start" all programs"National Instruments" NI Trace of IO).  Then try to calibrate the unit.  I/o path will record all calls VISA and could lead us to the root cause.  Once you have saved the data, you can export it and send it to us.  If you are not comfortable posting all data on this forum, then you can post only the steps leading to the error or we can contact you by e-mail and continue troubleshooting it.

  Where can I find instructions on the installation of a complete instance of the Siebel server and the installation files necessary for installing?

  I see on the portal of e-Delivery of many products Siebel Oracle show application of Siebel industry which has 53 files it contains. I downloaded all the 'Starter the condition' those and I was able to install Siebel Mobile Web Client (he complained a sample of missing data). I'm not able to install Siebel Tools because it needs an Oracle database Alias. I don't know the installer should point to a new instance of Oracle database or an existing Oracle database instance used by one already set up Siebel server.

  The installation guides are part of the Siebel library which is available for free on the Oracle Technology Network at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E63029_01/homepage.htm

  You probably want to start precisely by Siebel Innovation Pack 2015: content (Windows - title is displayed wrong here but link is valid) or Siebel Innovation Pack 2015: content (Unix/Linux/Solaris/AIX - title is wrong, but the link is fair).

  Usually best to get the server side of things together first and then install the clients.  Correct database instance configuration is part of the global configuration of the server.
