color rich black spot

Hello indesigners.

an intense black to become a spot color if I choose to accompany the process color?

and can a white or black become a spot colors or these 2 colors are considered simple shades?

Thank you.

All that will do is give the guy the press an extra plate - which is a complete waste of time and money.

In printing, the colors are separated to CMYK plates, this is known as the printing process.

For colors that fall outside the CMYK range (range of colours as only so many colors can be achieved by the mixture of these 4 inks), Spot colors, producing an extra plate, so you'd find you with CMYK + 1 Spot boards.

There is no need to decide here.

If you are using a new black color and change this to a Spot - then You ' l end up with 2 plates for printing - which is not necessary.

You have even make a new shade - just choose 95% black for the color of things if that's what you want.

If you do not understand this, I suggest that you talk to your printers and the guy from the press on how best to configure your color chart for the draw.

For the record - 95% black is NOT dark black. Rich Black is a combination of a Cyan, Magenta or yellow with 100% Black - for example, 50% Cyan, and 100% black.

And it does not need to be a Spot color - if you're not a spot color, and then the press will have to be around a 50% Cyan Ink and 100% Black - produce an extra plate, run an extra plate - and all this costs money. When it is completely useless. As they already use CMYK plates - so you can produce the Rich Black using CMYK plates.

Yet once, if you don't understand that then I suggest you talk to your printers, go to visit them and get a clearer picture of the operation of the printing process.

  • White on black with a small font printing: can I use rich black?

Hi, I am preparing a file for a press magazine ad. I have a text in 8pt Futura Book which is white on a black background. Can I do the dark rich-ish black background (say 20.20.20.100) or do I stay with 100 k only? Thank you!

To be on the right side (as others have pointed out), use white text on a background of 100%.

But has Illustrator to a Pathfinder trap function that allows you to get in what has been described by dandid "roll back the other colors in some areas so that white text is struck on a single plate"

But you'll lose the editability of the text.

    Convert Type to outlines.

Select the text and rich black background.

Choose View > Pathfinder and trap to select in the Menu of Pathfinder.

    Check reverse traps.

This will create a small area around the type without the CMJ (almost, he is now 0.1%).

  • Avoiding Rich black in the files for printing

Situation: One our vendors with which I work is printed paper, which suggests no black rich in PDF files or files HAVE.

Problem: Despite a palette limited (in which I use 100% black, white and a range of primary colors), the definition both a Rich Black element seems to find its way files in my working file HAVE (and there PDF for printing). I noticed this happened sometimes when I copy the text (or elements of black color) since another file I and then paste the items into the file, I'm working on that. It seems to happen only a few times. Outside by clicking on each black element - to research on the artboard and it controls in the color window to see only the black is 100% and CMY are all 0%, it is a surefire way to avoid the intense black in every capacity (especially in the fine print)? I saw the appearance of the black panel, but which seems to deal only with the screen devices and output RGB.

Any help or advice is appreciated! I would like to solve this problem.

    Side-note: I use CC on a Mac.

  • Can specify you black overprint in Indesign with other preferences of Rich Black

InDesign offers the "Swatch overprint [Black] to 100%" option and also offers Rich Black on features RGB and grayscale. Do you need a conversion of Rich Black or should I change [Black] to be rich Black

    Thank you

When you export a file to grayscale (printing or export) simply to work with black ink. Rich black is darker than 100% K with no other colors mixed in with it, so your coverage of 100% on the printer or in the PDF file will be mapped to rich blacks, and your content of 100 K, as text, would print or export as a shade of black in the range of percentage of average to high 90s. By setting your management of black out of all blacks as rich black, the 100 K come out strong. This setting does not affect the output of printers monochrome or grayscale PDF and won't make a difference of color output.

  • CS6 suddenly shows black spots?

Today, I got some problems with CS6

When I import a NEF file in photoshop some pictures suddenly get a black area

On the bridge or Gimp of photography is how they should be... but in photoshop, I get this:

    http://i1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd488/VPardoel/Untitled-1-1_zps830022be.jpg

If I change the channel from 8-bit to 32-bit mode, it looks fine... but I can not change anything...

It will probably be a setting I missed or something... but I'm really stuck, I can't finish my photos in photoshop!

Video drivers are up to date.

    Mode = RGB - 8-bit color

I never had any problems until now... I really hope that someone can help me.

What black spots are you referring to?  Only shaded areas are passed to the pure black?

    Mr.fox_NL wrote:

    You have an ATI card?

There was a problem of ATI driver before 13.4 where any time the red channel would reach 0 color any would go to pure black.  The problem disappears if you choose Image - adjust - curves, and then lift the black point of the Red layer to 1 or greater?

When you say that your video drivers are up to date, you have the latest version (catalyst 13.4) of the website of AMD?  The version of Catalyst 13.4 is generally one that solves the above problem.

  • Large black spot on the page and pasteboard

    I use CS3, InDesign worm. 5

I have 100 pages (type, a book page 440), with a large, 1 x 3, solid black spot (a double sequence) that extends from the top of the chessboard of paste into the document of 1.5 inches on a single page. Sometimes it disappears, sometimes it reappears. I exported the file to PDF (for printing high quality). It was not visible in the PDF, but it printed (printing of digital book CreateSpace).

The task cannot be selected, moved, etc.

The file contains four layers. The task is primarily associated with a single layer. However, when I turn this layer or all the layers off the coast, only the part of the task inside the text box disappears. The part which exceeds the frame of text on the page and the remains of cardboard.

The blemmish appeared during a crisis of sneezing (allergies) while I was working on the document. I touched or that you clicked on something, but I have no idea what.

    • I moved out of the page, the text block, and a new time, not linked, given. Most of the task moves with the original text block (everything that was inside the frame and the part on the outside). I made a new image and the task has returned - now in two locations: in full size on the page, and most of it on the block of text on the pasteboard.
    • I deleted the page, created a new page and created a new block of text. As I entered the new text, the task has reappeared.
    • I exported the File Interchange format. The task remained.
    • I deleted the default settings of InDesign and saved data files. The task remained.

I can cover it with a full framework of white: However, I do not know if it will work in fact when the book is printed. And if this is the case, I can't delete the part that covers the text.

    Walton.

I exported the IDML file and also as RTF. Opening the IDML retained the task.

Placing the RTF into one new file has also retained the task; even if the fonts were all gone, the glyphs appeared in applied fonts. A strange thing is that the police of DickChamberlainsDeathF na not show coloring and missing fonts in the menu drop-down police in Control Panel, there is no brackets around his name (parentheses indicate missing fonts).

Someone at - he a clue about this strangeness?

I exported the text file. The form disappeared when the text file has been placed in a new document.

Then, I reapplied the fonts for the text - named police has been applied to all paragraphs in the police force. No character.

The default size is 12pt. I've selected all the text in the frame and increased the font size to 15pt and BINGO! It's BAAACK! He remained as I unstapled each action step by step.

I suspect that the task is triggered by a character in one of the fonts. It does not go away when the fonts are changed to fonts known to normal. If these fonts are not major fonts foundries creations, or if they have been changed by a scientist crazy fonts, the problem is probably a calculation error in the view of the police.

If you want to really find the source of the problem, I would suggest to start with a new file, set the default to a known a type font, course new samples of text for a set of glyphs, copy and paste the glyph to make enough for your samples, and then save this file, and then save it under a new name. One, apply a suspicious police to a set of glyphs. Save under a new name that indicates the applied font.

Open the first saved file, save it with the name of the second font that you want to test. Apply this font on the second set of glyphs. Save again.

Browse through this routine until you have a set of files which have all games of glyphs, but that one policy applied to each file. If the task has not appeared, start back in the first file with a font applied. Select the text with the applied font and change the size from 15pt point. If that does not cause the problem, save the file as a new file with 15pt in name.

Repeat this test for all files. If the task appears, you will have an idea of what font causes.

If the task has not appeared, start over with the first file who first applied at 15 PT fonts, save it under a new name. Select the second group of glyphs and apply the second font. Record. If no stain, increase the font size of the second group of glyphs to 15pt. If no spot, save and repeat with all other files, apply the n - th police to the n-th glyph group. Save new names. Change font at 15 PT etc.

If still no spot, start over with the first file. Register a new name. Apply every nth font in each group of the n - th glyph, in this one file. If this does not display imperfections, try the same strategy with the remaining files.

  • Question about rich blacks

OK, I know that this topic has been discussed several times in these forums, and I've read many of them. However I need help with details pertaining to the following question.

Lets say, I'm working on album covers and import a picture into my document psd to cmyk. To create a shadow, I then paint in the background areas with a black color with a soft brush. I add a text, "convert to shapes" and save as PDF for printing. One of my concerns is that the areas that I painted with black print possibly to a different shade of black to my photo. It should be a concern?

I understand that the default black 0,0,0,100 is ok for small text and images, but for bigger bigger texts and larger areas of black, it is preferable to use an intense black as (0,60,0,100) for example. Well, since I have more large areas of black outside my image, how do I change them to a rich black while ensuring it will mix well in black edges of my images? Just mix everything with a brush sweet sampling of colors while enough to ensure my black will print in color is uniform?

I read on "create a profile" and a "custom CMYK" allowing me to adjust my levels of black, but not quite sure how to make this really and when it must be done. I have experimented with this option and noticed that it seems not darken my blacks, but also obscuring the black pixels in areas unwanted such as a people's face in a picture for example. I guess I could just apply changes to a new layer and hide the or erase the unwanted areas so the original indicates layer shows through.

Sorry if that sounds confusing, that I am a bit confused with how to approach fills with projects where I painted in some blacks. Any help from someone competent in this area would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the cover of the album I'm working on to show what I'm trying to do.

For this type of image, the ONLY way I would, and I did more that I can count, would be to make the composite whole or whatever you want to call in RGB. When your black blend RGB, they will automatically, as stated above, work together, but to ensure that they are based in fact. Second, you want or need in a black traditional "rich." You want what you get - a 300 percent ink medium light black black generation. You don't want or need a 100 per cent black in this image type. Take account of this photograph. The black area in is NOT the same which would fill you with an intense black solid part of graphic design.

In regards to the CMYK conversion, of course you don't get 90 percent black of this conversion. That's what indicates the SWOP v2 profile and it's why happened just to add up to 300 percent of ink. Now, if that's the right profile for your printer is doubtful, and the way you describe the people you have worked with, it sounds like they Classic old school print idiots. I would definitely not trust them with the conversion, but of course, I want to see proof on their first Proofer. If it were me, I would just take a profile custom and with it, but you don't have that luxury.

If you start to mix and paint CMYK, you may really goes well beyond the limit of ink for your process, or worse, ending up with a weird CMYK mix in black that prints in reality with a cast you can see.

  • How can I fix black spots on the camera in 9.3.5 iOS?

How can I fix black spots on the camera in my iPhone 6 Plus? Please help me.

You see the same locations if you take a picture out in the open?

It's more like flares of the lens, because of the light coming from one side of the room and hit the lens at an angle. If so, it is an optical phenomenon and cannot be resolved.

  • Black spot on the camera

When I use the camera, a black dot appears on the right side (when you hold the phone horizontally).

I took a few pictures, a few minutes before the black spot appeared. West nothing on the lens. There might be a microscopic piece of dust inside, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

I ve heard from a few people that is probably not a physical defect, but a real question much experimented with iOS 8.

I m using the latest version of iOS, but they also heard some experience the same problem there.

    Any suggestions?

just to learn, put the dust on your camera and take a look.., well he cant focus just that close, but you may notice theres no way it is dust! However, if she still something to do with the material, as this would mean that the sensor burned some pixels, but this usually happens only if you cam laser or try to take pictures of real welding close or things like that... If you don't have these bad things to your camera, it could be the connector.

But it is unlikely, even if I had exactly this problem of connector camera back in the day with my 3gs.

But just because these newer iDevices use screws to attach the connectors its very unlikely!

If the restart does not work try a little touched the phone and check if the point changes or even disappears. If who have some influence the sensor may be broken since you have this iphone or this is the connector as I have just said.

If nothing changes by slapping, etc. shaking your phone you should try to restore your device via itunes

  • Satellite M30-853 - vertical white lines or black spots on the screen

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite M30 - 853 during nearly four years. A few days already, I'm having a problem that they come from the white lines vertical or black spots or screen is smear when I am trying to move a window from time to time. My wireless adapter is in use.

The vicinity of processor, video card and wireless network card are very hot. My cooling fan is starting and stopping, but I'm not sure of its effectiveness.

I disassembled the laptop to clean it if there is little to dust, but I found it in very good condition. Anyway, the problem persists and I am looking for decision. Someone told me that probably that's because of the defective video card memory. It's strange to me because the problem is not permanent it is often and if I try to cool the surface it disappears.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

In my opinion, these issues must be verified correctly. This can be done using different diagnostic tools. It is important to know what the problem cases.
Of course, it has something to do with the temperature of material and graphics card. Sorry but I'm really skeptical, you can do something alone. Maybe you should seek professional help.
